How in the world does this place have 53 reviews and I only visited for the first time yesterday lol. On my journey home I raced down to the taco truck on the opposite side of Waimanalo bc I had such a rough day and really wanted to drown my sorrows in Al Pastor and Lengua. The Universe knew how terrible my day was and decided to let me drive all the way there to find the Taco Truck was gone :) Driving away in such a mood, I somehow remembered passing this kinda random truck parked by the stripmall area with Jacks in it and thought "Meh.. could it get any worse?" and let me say everything happens for a reason :D The menu was pretty extensive. It was handwritten and a variety of pizzas and sides. I'm sure if my anxiety didn't kick in, I'd definitely would have stayed and read it more thoroughly but I just ended up asking what they recommended and went with it which was something along what would be a Supreme. I think I did see hotdogs and pasta also on the menu? The wait wasn't long at all considering there was one person in front of me, I waited 20-25 mins. I'm wondering if they have a number for phone orders. I'm sure they do but I'm really not that observant. Everything was terrific! Incredibly fresh and flavorful, wasn't greasy. An okay pie. Happened to be in the area and saw the food truck. Definitely not something I would go out of my way to go and get. Okay overall flavor. Neither the sauce, cheese, nor the crust stood out as a positive. However, was way too oily. Cheese was put on pretty heavily and that made it pretty salty. While walking to the Airbnb we were staying at we've seen this food truck several times and we saw a sign that said they had pizza so we gave them a try. Everything is made to order and worth the wait! Yes, I'm one of those freaks that likes pineapple on a pizza so we ordered the Volcano but only with half lol my sister doesn't like it. Oh man that pizza is so good and fresh, nice amount of marinara sauce and toppings. We tried their disco fries, basically fries with gravy and and cheese over them very good. 12" pie for $14 which is a pretty good deal for the area. It's not the greatest pizza but it's ok. Also to those that say it's wood-fired, it is not. They use traditional gas pizza ovens. The dough is a bit cardboard like and gets super hard as it cools down. With all that said, it's a cool little food truck on the side of a small road in Waikiki. Hearty pizza at a fair price. A great crust to elevate it thats chewy, crispy, light, and doesnt taste processed. They say he makes his sausage in house and id be inclined to believe it. The only complaint i have is that it wouldve made for an even better pizza if he had swept the pizza brick between pies because it left alot of the burnt cornmeal and ashy residue on the bottom of the pizza and littered in the box, and even though its a pizza peve of mine, it wasnt a deal breaker for me. His phone is down at the moment so you cant call in an order and parking is very tricky down Cartwright road. Toward the very end the road near the last food truck in the lane theres a handful of paid parking stalls you can use, and it only takes about 15 mins start to finish for a pizza despite him being a one man show. Good pizza joints are hard to come by. I was craving a delicious fully loaded pie on one August 2020 night when I discovered Moo Pizza, which was a pizza place on a food truck business. Thought that was a nifty discovery. The experience here was a little weird for me, since I rarely order my meals or snacks from food trucks, but it's a nice change of pace for sure in the grand scheme of things. I arrived here around 1pm on a recent Saturday afternoon searching for a good slice that seems to elude me. Thankful for Yelp and all the user photos, I got a sense of this business and decided to check it out. I ended up getting an entire large pizza, which was aptly named "The Big Louie". It looked very delicious in the Yelp photos, so that helped me decide on what to purchase. The food truck is basically modeled after a dairy cow, hence the business name "Moo Pizza". They also have side items, like Stromboli and calzones, but their signature is pizza. They also do fries, regular and garlic, whichever tickles your fancy, and they do hot dogs too. They're located on the corner of Cartwright Road and Paokalani Avenue in the east end of Waikiki. Can't miss them. Only caveat is that the parking situation can be fickle and limited. Best bet would be to come here and try to find some parking nearby. Or better yet, phone your order in advance and you'll be delighted about that. They claim to have the best pizza in Waikiki, which seems to be true. They're certainly one of the best though. I give credit for that. Really need to return and try the garlic fries. The overall experience here at Moo Pizza was casual, nice, and aforementioned weird, but can't complain, since the service was nice, friendly, and fast. I didn't phone in my order, so I had to wait about 20 minutes or so after ordering before my order was ready for pick up. It was strictly take out, due to the 2020 pandemic thing, so we were required to wear face masks while conducting business. The pizza was really good and the flavors that came out of "The Big Louie" was super and well received by my taste buds. It was so good that it really hit the spot after a morning of doing stuff. I ended up eating one slice on the ride home to check it out and the rest of it with family. The pizza got rave reviews and I inclined to agree. It was a good choice on my part and I can say that Moo Pizza is a definitely a hidden gem in Waikiki. If you are a pizza junkie, you would want to come here to get your fix, among the items they offer. I wouldn't mind trying a hot dog or a calzone the next time around, but you guys, the pizza is amazing. Check it out for yourselves and you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you discover here in Waikiki. Come on down and you won't be disappointed. Moo Pizza accepts major credit cards, which is awesome already - as well as cash. In the 2020 Pandemic, best bet would be credit cards though. As far as prices go, it's probably in line with the major pizza restaurants around town, where a small pizza starts at $12 and a large will run you at least $16, depending on whether or not you want toppings beyond the basic stuff. As mentioned before, parking can be a pain especially in Waikiki, but best bet would be to get here early enough to secure parking in neighboring streets and walk on over. If you are like me, routes 2, 13, 19 and 20 run through Waikiki from downtown Honolulu, while route 8 runs from Waikiki to Ala Moana shopping center. No matter how you get here, Moo's Pizza can be your ticket to pizza heaven. The prices are average and the service is really nice. Just be mindful of the social distancing and wearing a face mask when you come here. My dads from the New York/Jersey area and has always guided me toward good Italian food especially New York pizza, calzones & strombolis. Their Stromboli was absolutely delicious. Exactly what we were all craving after a long day on a tour bus. I ordered a custom Stromboli and the owner readily made it to my liking. Tried it just because. We don't have a pizza place in Waimanalo, so they were pretty popular when they first parked their Moo Truck in the shopping center. Don't see as much lines now. Sauce is bland, and dough has no seasoning "salt". I'd travel the extra few miles for a better quality. I'm sure they are appealing to some, as I've read. It's the price point and the quality for me. This was so good! The garlic fries had the perfect balance of garlic and seasoning. The spinach and garlic Stromboli, which is one of their best sellers, had fresh spinach and plenty of garlic. It comes with one cup of marinara which was enough for the entire thing. The Stromboli was pretty huge! I was only able to finish half. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delivered: Well, I had to try the calzone. I don't think I've ever had ricotta cheese in one before. The crust was good and mozzarella was smooth and stringy - just right. The ricotta wasn't great for me, I suspect just not my thing. It was a bit grainy / liquidy. The garlic knots had plenty of fresh garlic which is a bonus!
