Came across a local burger chain near Kailua that reminded me of a Five Guys Burger or Shake Shack back home. Hawaii has beautiful weather all year round so we opted for outdoor seating this time. We ordered the Mushroom Swiss and the Blue cheese bacon burgers alongside truffle and garlic fries. Wow, did this hit the spot. They use locally sourced grass-fed beef and the freshest ingredients. Who doesn't love a burger I can get quite bougie when it comes to my dream build where I do love cheese and to get saucy though no pickles or onions for me but please add some lettuce and tomatoes and make it messy! After a brief time spending the day in Kailua it was time for lunch and it was Mahaloha Burger for us and with some parts of Kailua biggest challenge is parking but these merchants on Hekili Street which is right across from Kailua Town Center does have it's own parking in the back is very convenient when you're unable to find street parking. Though quite small the vibe of this restaurant is just adorable lots of statement of Aloha some are fun and cheesy, I ordered the most popular item #9 Mushroom Swiss with fries though I was tempted with the many of their specialty fries is always yummy along with any of their dipping sauce. Yummy burger, definitely one of the most tasty burgers I've had. Went out wanting a salad but then I remembered thinking I want to try that "gourmet burger" SO, it's a compromise. I got the burger and asked for it on greens - which of course they charged per leaf!!! It's all good because I got to try it out!! Such a great burger spot!! The fries are gorgeously crispy and delicious, while the burger is flavorful and fulfilling. Just felt that the burger was quite messy, but was likely just the cheese and sauces topping the mushroom burger. Mahaloha Burger always hits the spot. Their burgers are cooked to perfection (your temperature preference), super juicy, big and delicious. The pineapple teriyaki burger is hands down my favorite. The garlic fries and truffle fries are also a must try! Hot dogs are on the menu as well for those who don't feel like a burger. They have regular fountain sodas, water and beers on tap as well. Came here after beaching. Located just across the corner from Target. Small shop, with a few tables outside, 2 high chair tables on the main floor, & a good about of seating upstairs. We got the loco moco burger with garlic fries, & double cheese burger with truffle fries. Both were so yummy! Burger was cooked perfectly with some pink (but if you like yours well done, let them know). The only thing I would've done differently is request for the egg on the loco moco to be an over easy/runny yolk egg. The fries can prob be shared between 2 people, but they're so good... crispy but not over fried. Would def come again & try other burgers/sandwiches/sides on the menu. read more

One of my many pleasures in life is a hot dog and french fries. Together, as they should be. So few places that sell hot dogs also sell french fries - but Mahaloha does! This location sells all manner of burgers, which is of course why we were here (and the hot dog, of course). These burgers are made with 100% grass fed beef from the Big Island. I mean! And there are a fun variety of toppings (my son added jalapeños to his bleu cheese and bacon burger). The fries were PERFECT. Nicely crispy and perfectly salted. Not at all dry. They offer both truffle and garlic fries - AND sweet potato fries! Alas, specialty fries are not allowed for combos, but let me tell you, they are worth the money! My hot dog was delicious, nicely grilled and served on what looked like a brioche hot dog bun - also grilled. Love! Drinks are similarly diverse, as they offer fountain drinks and canned Hawaiian juices, in addition to a small selection of beers. And floats! There is a tiny bit of seating near the counter but about 5 more tables upstairs if you can get up there, and a couple of tables outside on the patio as well. Free parking right in the back! Located in a tiny strip mall with Splash! and Le Crepe Cafe, right across the street from Target and a little ways down from the now defunct Pali Lanes. Also tons of street parking. Hot and Fresh! I had a basic cheeseburger and fries yesterday. The cheeseburger was hot off the grill with melty cheese and pickles and lettuce and a delicious sauce. It's no longer available! Shucks! I also tried the BBQ Bacon Burger - it was messy, but tasty! Today, I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger to go. It was delicious and filling! The lettuce and tomato slice were fresh! The quality burger patty had a slightly smokey flavor and it was juicy - so good! I really liked each burger that I've had here at Mahaloha Burger. The cashier was not helpful at all with trying to understand the menu and charges. The menu says a drink is $3 with a burger but when I asked for that she said that was only with a combo which is not stated on the menu. I asked for a kids meal of sliders and fries and was charged more for the regular sliders order that had no fries. Haven't had a burger in a while so I researched local spots to ensure I wasn't disappointed and I'm so glad I didn't settle. The burgers were filling and very tasty. Fresh avocado and cheese with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and sauce. The bacon bbq burger was full of favor too. The burgers were not overcooked, medium rare was perfect! Thanks to watching a lot of foodie videos on YouTube lately, I was craving a burger so I googled "Burger places near Kailua Target" and this gem popped up and I'm forever thankful! LOL! Located near Kailua Target, You'll find this establishment across the street on a corner location near the parking lot entrance. Note the parking is behind Mahaloha Burger. Although very small space, they have some outdoor seating, a couple tables near the register/counter, and an upstairs seating area. Made use of their space very well! Establishment was very clean despite how super busy they got as we came on a weekday during lunch time. We were also welcomed upon entry. The cashier was very nice and quick with her work as she was the only one working the front counter and the kitchen staff getting all the orders cooked in the back. When we got there, there were 5 parties waiting for their orders with 3 more parties in line behind us by the time we got to place our order. We received our food within 20 minutes. Ordering 2 combos: 1 signature double cheeseburger, 1 BBQ Bacon Burger, Garlic Fries, and Onion Rings. Although size in burgers may not be the biggest for the price they cost, the quality of the food is 110% worth it. Their garlic fries are probably one of the best we've ever had. Fresh CRISPY garlic fries without any mushy texture or oiliness you may get at other places. Their burgers, with each bite you were able to taste every ingredient unlike other burgers sometimes you'll get a pickle here or sauce there. Their burgers were also well put together and did not fall apart as you took bites into it. The burger patty itself was flavorful and juicy. Definitely coming back again! I think Mahaloha Burger is probably among my top two local burger chains. They consistently offer yummy burgers and tender fries with a light crispy coating. My favorite is the Mahi Burger, which has a generous portion of moist fish, grilled just right. So ono! Not sure why I waited so long to eat here because it was pretty good. We had the teriyaki sliders, avocado Swiss burger & truffle fries. First off, I was a little disappointed that you cannot have all the fries option with the combo. They should allow it with an upgrade charge. My husband & I shared the side order of fries & it was a perfect amount. Keep in mind, my husband doesn't eat too much fries. Maybe for 2 normal adults, the fries would be too small. My dad and I came here before. He loved it so we came back. On a yelp review, I read that they had a vegan burger minus the bun, not true! When I asked if they had any vegan burgers, I was told they have a veggie burger, but it has cheese on it. I asked if the cheese could be removed as I was willing to settle for that and I was told that the cheese is already on it. So I decided to get nothing. My dad ordered his burger with garlic fries and a soda. The girl taking the order suggested that I could get the fries too so I said OK I'll do the fries. When we picked up the order, there was only one fries. When my dad asked her for the second fries, she claimed I never ordered it. I was very disappointed again and I did feel like she had a little bit of an attitude when she argued I never ordered it. Don't plan on coming back here ever again. What's the point?
