Had girls night over here and to my surprised, I enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is lively with the live entertainment. Very nice to enjoy the local artists while chowing down some good grub. Service was wonderful. Our waitress seemed very acknowledgeable of the menus and was attentive and prompt. I ordered the bang bang shrimp wrap with sweet potato fries. The honey butter is DELICIOUS with the sweet potato fries. The wrap was large so I took half to go. Drinks were made accordingly. A good ol' blue agave margarita to enjoy the night out. Food was superb!! We all enjoyed our food items but a concern is that one person in our group ordered a cheesesteak but they did not get their order til after the fact the rest of us had everything from appetizers to entree. A simple food item that you would've expect to be out to the table quicker. They have outside sitting, sitting at the bar or tables. The food is very good, prices are reasonable, has a great crowd with a relaxed vibe. However, some of the servers need to put on some CLOTHES! Our server tonight had to pull her shorts down several times because she was hanging out. The half shirts are also inappropriate, especially when paired with the shorts. If you don't rate mooches a 5 star, I dunno what to tell you. The waitresses there always are so cool to my kids when we come in for wings. My boys are 11 and 13 and getting to the age where they like flirting, and the girls are just nice to them but very professional. Not to mention the wings are incredible. I was a but shocked to find skinnyz transformed into a new tavern. The changes on the inside are mostly cosmetic and probably for the better. Modern meets old in a neighborhood bar feel. According to our waitress the place stayed open during renovations and will have a grand reopening party on 2/22/2014. The menu is a bit different which soups and sandwiches. There is heartier fare and entrees to order: fish and chips and steak options on the menus. The app that caught my eye were the truffle deviled eggs which I will be trying soon. I'm very mixed about my opinion of this place. We came here on Sunday during the games to grab some food and watch some football. The place was packed and our waitress was completely swamped. Luckily another waiter was able to jump in and take care of us. The wedge salad was great and so was the blue cheese dressing. It was full of blue cheese crumbles and tasted homemade. It was excellent especially for the price. My dad really liked his side house salad. The oyster po boy was my meal. The oysters themselves were fried perfectly but I was turned off by the bread. It tasted like they drenched it in margarine or I can't believe it's not butter. I would also like to see them offer a remoulade to go with the po boy. The fries were terrible and tasted like they used bad oil. My dad got the Reuben. The meat was sliced extremely thick and much thicker than he had expected. The sandwich itself was average. However he absolutely loved the onion rings and so did I. They were perfectly fried and the breading was great. I don't know how the fries tasted so bad and these tasted so good. Overall hit or miss. I will give it another try. It seems like there are some really amazing items mixed in with some not so great/average ones. read more

Great service! Lexi was a phenomenal waitress and I could tell other servers were attentive to their tables. The ahi tuna appetizer was light and healthy, but delicious. Shared the special of the night, chicken parm and it was filling and also tasted great. This is a traditional sports bar with a ton of tvs and a stage for live music. Usually they set up around 7 on the weekend so if you want to avoid that distraction head there early. Finally, free app if you check in on Yelp! Definitely worth it. read more

Was not sure about this place due to mixed reviews. This far exceeded my expectations, we ordered a variety from the Salmon, fish taco, hot wings and saracha taco. Onion rings are amazing and fries were great too! Loved the mushroom risotto and fresh asparagus and yea we even had fried pickles! We go to this restaurant often and enjoy it. But are especially happy when the bartender Lexy is working. She is an exceptional bartender. Very attentive, fast, and makes you feel welcome. Good bar food! We ate outside so it was comfortable in the shade. I had the shrimp tacos and they're yummy with chipotle sauce on the side. The sides are pretty standard bar food. One of those places that has a bar style atmosphere but you know the cooks take their work seriously and with pride. They let us sit at the bar in the second room that didn't have a bartender(we don't like being around a lot of people and there was no bartender over there so it was a super plus for us!). I got a blackened chicken salad, on here I saw the create your own salad, they don't have that anymore although they do have good salad options and will let you add to them and/or remove things(it's lasted me 3 meals!) and he got a side salad and shrimp tacos and was full after that and our app and he normally eats a lot, all three were EXCELLENT! Drinks were good! App Dip trio: Spinach dip is dank, pimento cheese dip(I am lactose intolerant and stole it all from him idc about the consequences lol so good), third, it tastes like house made red pepper hummus also dank! The pita bread it comes with are super good and garlicky, just don't put them in the fridge when you get home they'll get hard ;) Also good pricing. The tavern is pretty far from our house but we like traveling and getting out of our town(hickory) to get good food and see new places and meet new people! Moochies has been my bar of choice when I'm in the mood for solid food , drink specials and games. They have multiple televisions, live bands on weekends, trivia and more. They do an annual charity event for a week called Moochiepalooza as well. The proceeds go to victims of cancer. The bar food is plenty good here. I enjoy the sweet potato fries, buffalo fingers, burgers and wings. My only complaints is that sometimes the service at the bar is slow but that's because it gets quite busy. I recommend Moochies if you're up for a night of entertainment! read more

I've tried this place twice. The staff is great, really nice. The food is hit or miss and even the "hit" is not that great. The salads are ok, sandwiches are just so-so at best. Today I got the hotdogs and they were horrible!!! Hotdogs that have been sitting out for a week at a gas station would've been better than these. Not sure whats going on with this restaurant but lately they have started to slip. I always order the same thing and every single time I get it, its completely different. Not sure how this is possible because its just a club sandwich. Sometimes they add cheese, sometimes not. Same with bacon and the bread is always different- sometimes 3 slices, others 2. Today it was ham. Ordered via phone : Club sandwich, no tom, no pickle. Add cheese, and extra cheese at that . Received a turkey sandwich WITH pickles. They FORGOT the ham, cheese and the lettuce. They only thing that was right was no tomato. However, the bread was toasted perfectly and turkey was yummy. Just wish it was the sandwich I requested and paid for. From now on I will check the items before I leave. ** And I side note, alot of times when you call no one answers and/or it goes to a voicemail that says its not taking any more messages. I really want to like this place but the kitchen seems to struggle and that's what makes it hard. Wait staff are overall awesome however, food constantly come out wrong, cold, late, etc. The owner, Rhonda, is awesome, attentive and cares. Moochies is one of our favorites. Food is always consistently good. We came in for a quick bite and cocktail today. Draco was a great server - very friendly and knowledgable of menu. Our food was delicious. The sweet manager stopped by our table to ask how our meal was and we complimented how great their steamed broccoli is and asked how they prepare it. This conversation led us to a past menu favorite - fried broccoli. We shared that a friend that is a chef makes fried green olives and how good they are. She was so intrigued that she went to her kitchen crew asking them to fry some green olives. A few minutes later, Draco brings out a small plate of fried green olives and a fabulous sweet chili sauce. SO delicious and SO kind. This is why we come to Moochies!! read more
