This is a must stop place whenever you are in the area. The ice cream there is amazing. Last visit, I had the coconut almond delight. One of my favorite flavors of theirs. I love that they have an outdoor area where you can sit and watch the cows that help make this ice cream. Right now, part of the outdoor area is under construction, but there was still plenty of places to sit and enjoy our ice cream. During the busier months (a.k.a. summer), it can be hard to find a space to sit, but hopefully with the new deck expansion they will be adding more seating so people can enjoy the farm views! read more

Had a chance to visit Moomers last weekend while camping in the area. A very charming store, I LOVED the dairy pasture next door, I got to watch one of the cows grazing at an Apple tree , and our ice cream was SUPER YUM! I can't say every flavor was a hit cause I definitely had some regrets. The worst flavor was strawberry. I figured voted best in America, that gotta mean something. The strawberry ice is just pink colored cream. No fruit and no flavor. I was like ugh....who the hell tasted this place? Obviously there were better flavors but why serve garbage as an option. Overhyped in my opinion. Having the ice cream shop overlook the farm & cows they use to make their ice cream was a unique concept. But, there really are only a few flavors in their shop that they actually use their own dairy so that was a little disappointing. Upon arrival the line wraps around the building, they have menus outside to look at while you wait in line and a screen that displays the flavors. Customers were pretty grumpy about the line but the wait really wasn't that bad, maybe 15 minutes. The ice cream itself isn't anything special, definitely not the "best in America", I think the appeal might be in the creations , they offer an ice cream flight, old fashioned ice cream sodas & very large sundaes (that are a bit pricey). Our ice cream was pretty melted by the time we got it so that was a bummer. If you want good ice cream in Michigan I highly recommend Mackinaw City, JoAnnas Fudge Shop is one of my favs or, even a small town one like Blue Moon in Ovid. read more

This was a fun stop on our Michigan trip this summer. The line was insanely long and people were smoking in line which I think should be illegal, but I love all the diff flavors of ice cream and getting to look over their beautiful dairy farmland while enjoying the ice cream.
