Delicious first experience at Moomer's!! The seats inside fill up fast and for a reason. The ice cream was delicious! We both got sundaes--brownie and cookies and cream with hot fudge and salted caramel ice cream with hot caramel. Wish we lived closer!

My doctor of all people recommend this place to me, and let's just say Geraldean didn't let me down. They serve big portions for good prices, and that was good because I felt like getting fat today. What's even better is that I had dinner and a show you could say--I watched the cows meander and drool all over each other while I made my chocolate peanut butter chunk ice cream my b-word.

Caramel sea salt (saltier than sweet), toffee coffee, coffee, supermoo, spookies and cream, and large size of butter pecan.

Came back after 11 years and am a bit embarrassed to read my review! I love that Michigan's ice cream is so different than most places. Moomers is definitely a must stop place when traveling to or near TC. The lines are long, yes. However, they go pretty quick. Service is friendly and fast! I was so excited to get the ice cream flight and appreciated that they came in little sample cups. It can be pretty costly for 5 little cups, but I love that I can try multiple flavors. My favorite was the coffee toffee and spookie and cream (they use orange oreos). My parents got the butter pecan which was delicious. We also got Praline and cream from Tom's the night before and that was also delicious! Hubs got superman, which was one of the better tasting ones I've had in Michigan. I love that they also sell ice cream bowls, glasses, t-shits and scoops! They do offer seating inside but there is a lot more in the back and side of the store.

I bookmarked Moomers back in April and I'm so glad I finally had the chance to try it. What an awesome experience! This place is a gem. The shop is set right on a farm, and they have a beautiful outdoor seating area that wraps all the way around the building. While enjoying your ice cream, you can even watch the cows in the pasture, which makes the whole experience so unique and fun. When we arrived, the line was wrapped around the store, which immediately told me it was worth the wait. And we were right. My husband said it was the best ice cream he has ever had in his life. The quality is incredible, the flavors are rich, and the servings are generous. This is such a cool place to bring the family, not just for the ice cream but for the whole atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit!

Definitely overrated but gorgeous atmosphere - you face a farm and a huge field where you can watch the cows graze. Ice cream was fine... not anything life changing which is shocking because I would imagine this place have the best ice cream ever. It's a pretty long wait so just be prepared for that. Great thing to do on a summer day, but I wouldn't wait if the line wraps around the building.

Stopped in for ice cream on Friday afternoon. The classic ice cream shop was already getting busy for the holiday weekend but was very well taken care of and clean. The parking lot is a decent size but can see how it would fill up fast! I ordered the strawberry in a cup and he got the oreo cheesecake in a waffle cone. Both were so smooth and delicious! You can tell it's freshly made. They did forget my husbands ice cream but quickly corrected the mistake. My husband has always said this is his favorite ice cream place and I have to agree! We will definitely be back!

As a first timer to Traverse City, Moomers was recommended to me as a must try ice cream shop. When I arrived the line was wrapped around the building but I quickly made it to the front to order! The staff were friendly and kind, and getting my ice cream was very efficient. I ordered mint chocolate chip ice cream and it was full of mini chocolate chip pieces, which was amazing! They had a wide selection of flavors to choose from which is great for a variety of customers. The view of the pasture from the ice cream shop was such a peaceful addition to the ambiance as well. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Traverse City!

Good ice cream but was very busy. Thankfully my sister in law had a golden ticket. I'm sure waiting in the long line with my kids would have been a different experience. Kids loved seeing the cows.

Fresh ice cream made from the milk of the cows on the farm the ice cream is made on? count me in! This place was an old fashion ice cream shop, with its rustic small town feel. They have such a wide range of flavors its hard to just pick one so we did the flight. You get 5 different flavors in about a scoop worth of ice cream each. We did the banana bread, double chocolate flake, butter pecan, cherries moobile and strawberry. All flavors were true to themselves but I do think the cherry flavor could've used even more cherries. My favorite was the double chocolate and the banana bread. The ice cream is well worth the price, as we left bellies full and a happy heart. This is a must stop for ice cream lovers in the area!

Hands down the creamiest, smoothest, most delicious ice cream I've ever day. I have yet to try a flavor here that I haven't liked! The shop is so quick with your orders, you can't get your card back in your wallet before you got your ice cream! Plus the view of the cows that give the shop their milk is so fun! The babies are so adorable in the summer! This is a must be place to visit in Traverse City!

Fun family ice cream shop! Lots of places to sit and eat an ice cream treats with a full menu of almost anything you and the kids could want. I loved stopping by here to experience the legend that is Moomers. We came at a great time when there were plenty of parking. The line was quick. When there was a mix up with my kind of ice cream, the staff was quick and made no fuss to fix it.

Despite a line wrapping around the side of the building, service went quick and efficient. There were no fatiguers in line so everything was calm and orderly. The sundae was amazing, even for $8 And the cows were cool! Bringing the kids back in a week when there on vacation.

Moomers is a classic. Great ice cream and always love their flights. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and aggravated. But overall its delicious and worth a trip out!

Staff were friendly, but the service was slow. The ice cream didn't live up to the hype.

    Ask the Community - Moomers

Is the ice cream and milk organic and grass fed? Are the cows treated well?

I don't believe the cream and milk are organic or grass fed. Those designations have FDA requirements that can be expensive and difficult for farms. I can't confirm the quality of life for the cows, but suggest contacting Moomers directly.
