We stumbled upon this adorable little roadside spot on our way home and knew right away there was something special here. Sure enough, the food was fantastic and the ice cream was amazing (if you haven't had Moomer's, please stop what you are doing right now and make a plan to get some - you deserve it). And the service was great - they were smoking more meat while we were there and the aroma in the vicinity was nothing short of delightful. I grew up eating ice cream here and the new ownership has really just given it a face lift. The offerings are the same- moomers, soft serve, doles, sundaes, $3 hot dogs and of course monkey tails! Not a fan of the new shirts- I thought I was buying one with a cute ice cream on it but alas... it is a blurry "bardons" that everyone thinks says "brandons". When I went back to ask about the other option the girls said that was all they had (even though the sign had a different design and they were all wearing old designs). Didn't love that. I really enjoyed my time here. This place was right down the street from our hotel. This place mainly featured ice cream but it had some hot food that I really enjoyed like hot dogs and a pulled pork sandwich all that incredibly fair prices. This place is pretty popular at night and it's worth stopping over and waiting a line at. Staff and guests here are very friendly, it's definitely a small business worth supporting. I felt like the monkey tail was a bit too hard for my taste. The staff was nice and accommodating staying open a few minutes just passed closing just so they could serve its last guests. Many interesting menu choices. The staff was very friendly and helped me narrow down flavor selection ( too many menu options looked great ). I decided on Cherry Pie(?). Honestly I'm thought Moomer's was a type of ice cream ( " We can't call it 'ice cream' because of legal reasons ") made by Bardon's and not a brand. So, I was a teeny bit hesitant to give it a go. While the flavor was sweet but tart, the texture was strange. Not off putting, but it didn't really melt in the mouth, or in the dish. Seating is available outside only, tables and benches with a parking lot next door ( if you're gutsy enough to let the kiddos eat in the car ). The strawberry syrup has chunks of strawberries in it and it's delicious. This place is always busy because it's so yummy! They have a variety of options and it's priced well. I went to bardon's to get some nice ice cream with my mother. there was only 3 other people in line but yet we had to wait 27 minutes and 42 seconds, which to me seems very unreasonable. when we finally get to order Claire, the young lady working, was very rude to me and my mother, who is a wheelchair do to medical reasons, for no reason what so ever. after all this she gave us the wrong order and when I told her was even more rude and told us to just go somewhere else because she "doesn't like disabled people" which I find to be very unprofessional, and we didn't get our ice cream and I, who suffers from mental heath issues, was very upset by this and started to tear up and she called me a stupid little baby. read more

SHAME ON ME. I've been to Bardon's (truly) Wonder (ful) Freeze many a time and have yet to review it. So here goes. I hope the 5 stars makes up for it. Disclaimer: I've never had any of their savoury food options, only ice-cream. I'm a sucker for delicious soft-serve and, at Bardon's, the portion is generous, the price is great, and the ice-cream itself is a perfect creamy consistency. There are only two options for flavours - well, three if you're inclined to do a vanilla/chocolate swirl - but there are many flavours for a hard "dip": chocolate, cherry, and peanut butter. RECOMMENDED. The other night I saw a Labrador retriever mow a whole cone of vanilla soft serve solo. True story. Bardon's also does hard scoops, as well as an extensive list of sundaes and slushes. They do a blended "flurry"-style option as well, which lets you customise from a wide range of toppings, fruits, and candies. They even do - cue Arrested Development joke - frozen bananas. They're tough on the teeth but otherwise a nice alternative. Special shout-out goes to the strawberry sauce that accompanies the sundaes (I like it just poured atop the vanilla soft serve): it's homemade, and features real chunks of real berries (fancy that) and is not a gloopy artificially coloured mess. Which is to say: YAY IT'S GREAT. Yelp note: if you can walk it, do, because the parking lot at peak times is a little harried and it's on the corner of a busy intersection. read more

I love the retro feel - - - a big retro star light on the top of the building drew me in. So, when in Rome.... I drove by this dive 4 times on my first night in TC and the line was 12 deep every time. So, on night two, we stopped. If the locals are swarming it, it's got to be great right? YUP! The ice cream was amazing and the service was great. We got waffle cones, which were crunchy, not too sweet, and with a hint of vanilla (essentially how it's supposed to be). The mint chocolate ice cream was to die for and the moose tracks was on point. There are several ice cream options downtown and they are twice the price of this little corner joint. People on here complained about the location being too close to the street...yes it's close to a busy intersection. It's worth it. You have to try it. Delish! 3 waffle cones, 2 had 2 scoops and 1 was a single. The total bill was around $15. Half of what some of the other more 'hipster' places charge. read more

Typical soft serve and typical prices here. It's unfortunately right on the corner of a busy intersection, and feels slummy because of the buildings around it. I was slightly disappointed in my KitKat flurry, because the KitKat pieces were just broken into quarters and mixed in. So instead of KitKat pieces in each bite you pretty much ate the ice cream and then a bite of KitKat separately. The cookie dough flurry was good, though. I had a cookie dough ice cream thing. Sort of like a blizzard? I thought it was pretty good but there was not very much cookie dough in it.
