Moon Palace serves many unique dim sum items, has a great menu and specializes in Cantonese food. The decor of the restaurant is pleasant and relaxing. We started out with veggie spring rolls which had fresh veggies and a super crunchy shell. We moved on to a few other items that were all delicious! All the dim sum was beautifully made to order vs being on a cart and pre-made. ALERT: The waitress advised us that we needed to order the dim sum before 7pm as the chefs making it leave and they don't offer it after that time. The main show stopper was the Cantonese egg noodles with a whole cut lobster! The sauce on the noodles was smooth, flavorful and married well with the lobster meat. The desert of the black sugar sponge cake was deliciously super moist and excellent with the tea. The waitress was very friendly and kept our table orderly and clean as we ate. Went for saturday brunch and was relatively busy but placed immediately without a resa. A feeling of similar dumpling places from richmond or woodbine, semi-classy, clean and thus good and authentic. Food is fresh, well executed; dipping sauces are from bottles which is sad as it eventually gave a usual flavor to everything and i missed that original addition or variation one can get in some super good food places at which the sauces are home made or adjusted. But definitely if you are downtown that might THE place to go for dim sum classy brunch (but not enough to impress anyone though). Not that many similar good ones downtown! On Boxing Day I went here with my boyfriend to try out some Chinese food! For places like these I really recommend going in the restaurant because their interior, service and food plating is remarkable. I enjoyed my experience a lot! New dim sum place with fancier than usual dim sum offerings (eg. Lobster rice roll). Food is decent, I would give it a 3 out of 5, everything needed more seasoning/flavor, especially the turnip cake (bland). But what really took another star down was the rude service. I'm Chinese (born here), I had one lady ask me if I was able to eat w chopsticks because I wasn't speaking Chinese, then she must have told this other waiter because this man came up to deliver a plate and basically started haranguing me for not speaking Chinese "it's your language why don't you speak?". My friend who was with me thought his comments were inappropriate (he was also speaking to her in Cantonese asking why I don't speak Chinese). FYI my second language to English is French, because we are in Canada. Insulting and rude, I won't be going back because of the harassment and watch out if you are not a Cantonese speaking Chinese. read more

The best Peking duck ever. Annie sliced it at the table and displayed it so beautifully. Crispy skin super flavor and the meat on the side. Pancakes and scallion and cucumber pieces with hoisin sauce on the side. The extra meat on the carcass is prepared in the kitchen, chopped up and mixed with vegetables and crispy rice noodles. Truly so good. Service is impeccable and all the waiters are very friendly and helpful as the menu is big. Monday is lobster night and many table were enjoying it. A must when in Toronto. read more

Came here w my colleagues because it was close to our hotel. We're from SF Bay Area so our expectations were high. Moon Palace did. It disappoint however, it didn't wow us either. The menu is very interesting and mouth watering but unfortunately it took us a very long time to get our food. Something like 40 minutes. And only my husband got his dish. I had to wait another 10 minutes to get the appetizer, and then get my dish. Not ideal when you are not sharing the dishes. We took our mom for her 90th bday! Wanted to go somewhere nice in downtown. We used to go to Dynasty and Lai Wah Hieh but found their dishes not as good anymore, bad services at Lai Wah. Anyway. Moon Palace came up from my search and it is a quite new restaurant. We ordered the lobsters HK style about 5 lbs, grouper fish, roast chicken, sweet and sour pork, veg and fried rice. Lobster was big and tasty. The best was the fish with special mushrooms! I like they put a lot of different vegs and fruits in the dishes, and some with interesting decorations! Overall, the food was good and the price was reasonable with the location, quality and presentation. The service was 5 stars for sure. Very attentive! There is this new authentic Cantonese cuisine in town and it is just right across from Eaton Center. At first glance, it is definitely more glamorous and fine dining. We were lucky enough to get a patio seat so our dog can also sit with us too. My boyfriend and I first went to Moon Palace to try their two person lobster combo deal and it came with three dishes! We absolutely loved the lobster noodles. There was just enough lobster for two and the noodles were soaked in and infused with the lobster sauce. We also got the sweet and sour pork as a part of the combo and the pork was so crispy and delicious! The sauce was a super appetizing. The mixed vegetables were fresh and crispy and they were stirred fried and seasoned well. Overall, it was a delicious meal and it only cost us $46 before tax and we also had leftover food too. Since 2021, I and my husband had visited Moon Palace so many times, because the food are fresh and delicious. Both of us are sensitive to MSG, but we didn't find it in this restaurant. The important thing is the customer service makes us feel like eating at home, comfortable and welcoming. The most outstanding server is Winnie. Our family has been ordering takeouts from Moon Palace since it opened, more so for the better part of the pandemic months. It has been great and you can believe every positive reviews you read or hear, every bit as good as the hype suggested. Food always live up to the plug, served promptly, staff very mindful of our time! They are well presented, salute to the chef!!! Every dish we select tastes delicious, packs a ton of flavour into fresh entrees that always hit the spot. Menu offers variety and have to try almost everything since we generally enjoyed all that we ordered. William, (along with his co staff Tony) are equally amazingly nice, patient, accommodating, and attentive. As we always have tons of questions on some of the dishes given the twists, William describes all of them (including the specials) in great details. He gives his suggestions not only to help make our dining enjoyable but also to get our money's worth. Following his recommendations Moon Palace doesn't disappoint. There is upselling and then there is Moon Palace. When I went for Sunday morning dimsum they kept pushing us to get the Peking duck and a whole lobster, even after we said no several times. Then on mother's Day they kept pushing their mothers day special, they would not allow us to order from the regular menu, and insisted that we order a huge lobster combo for up to 6 people (we were only 3), and to top it off they later informed us that they could not honour the combo price because they were large lobsters, for which they would charge extra. The whole vibe is weird from the moment you order. It upset my mother so much that we left. read more

I even went over the order with the server to make sure it was ok, and it ended up being literally 4 times the amount of food we needed. They didn't even say anything!!
