Stopped in today to buy California pepper trees. Sam was very helpful; drove us around the yard, helped us decide if we wanted single trunk or spreading trunk, got our trees tagged and brought us back to the office. He got us checked out and our delivery scheduled. We were in and out in an hour. Moon Valley delivers, plants, and provides an arborist to check on the tree 3 times in the first year as well as fertilizing and recommending watering schedules. We will be back. read more

We thought we had found the two trees we wanted and we paid for them. A bit later we did some more evaluation of our location and decided those weren't right for us. MV allowed us to change our choice and we have just had the trees planted. We are thrilled. Not a browsing nursery. Salesperson sticks to you like glue and does a sales pitch to make a quick sale. You have to prepay in full, and there is a 17% "restocking" fee if you change your mind- even one minute after you leave. Giant trees/plants and cost will be in the 1000's. Maybe if you know exactly what giant tree/plant you want and getting it planted is a priority, Moon Valley Nursery would be a good experience. For us, a local nursery was less stress and much less cost. read more

We bought 4 trees from Moon Valley. The whole process was very smooth. Jordan was our sale person and he was great to talk with! He drove us around the nursery, showing us different kinds of trees. Eventually we went with 1 magnolia, 2 crepe myrtles and 1 red bud. The nursery could hold trees for up to 1 year before customer needs to take them. In our case we planted them after 4 months. The delivery process was very easy. We just needed to notify them about 1 week in advance and they came with a big truck with all trees and necessary soils on it (the extra soils needed to be paid for separately). The crews came with 5 people and they spent about 2 hours to install of 4 of them. Rico was the crews lead. He was in the business for many years and knew a lot about trees. We had great talks and he showed me how to take care of trees properly. The installation looked great and they cleaned up everything afterwards. I had to make a few adjustments during the process (eg. moving some tree by a few inches) and they were happy to do so even it meant they needed to do more digging! Another person I worked with was Mark. He's the logistics manager, who organized the delivery process. Beside delivery I also had many questions about tree caring, how to work with my paver contractors to make sure trees can be best installed alongside pavers, etc. Mark happily answered them all! Moon Valley offers a yearly caring package where one of their crew member will visit the site 3 times per year to check up on the trees. I took this for the first year so I expect someone from Moon Valley to visit in the next few months. Overall this was very smooth and easy process (easily the best part in my whole yard renovation project). Their price is not cheap but I think it's worth it. I highly recommend Moon Valley for their selections of trees, friendly staff and a stress-free installation process! read more

I ultimately did take delivery of the Myrtle several days later when Moon Valley refused to refund me. Sadly, the tree showed signs of water stress and one side of it was pretty well-damaged (though it will recover I hope). I can only assume they neglected to water it and just left it on the truck for four days until the second delivery date. Just sad. The installers didn't even inspect the tree with me but maybe they'll read this review and take a look at the images and learn to be conscientious with their next customer. read more
