We recently purchased two trees from Moon Valley Nurseries and the entire process far exceeded my expectations. Great service from start to finish - from quick help from Devon when we first arrived, to selection, purchase, scheduling, removing old trees, calling 811, stump grinding, digging holes for the new trees, installation, and cleanup. I really appreciate that Moon Valley Nurseries is a one-stop-shop and they handled every step of the process. If I had known it was this easy, I would have visited years ago! The crews all arrived on the early side of their estimated time frame, and each crew called ahead when they were 30 minutes out. I highly recommend taking some time to check out their entire selection. We arrived thinking we already knew exactly what we wanted, but it was fun to wander the property to discover new ideas. We purchased two Japanese Maples (in 24" boxes) with the protection plan. Best price of all the places we looked. A crew of five guys showed up with the trees on the scheduled day and took about 2 hours to plant them in our back yard. They scheduled PG&E come check for underground utilities several days before hand. This was about as painless as it gets. I know that had I purchased a tree from the local garden center I would have had to work with a third party to plant the trees. Marcos and his team just planted our 6 blueberry trees and had been very professional in every way. The measurements (distance and clearance) look very precise. This made our property look manicured. There is a lot of fixing needed with our fixer-upper property but the trees made our property look gorgeous. The work has been very quick. This would probably take me and my dad the whole weekend to do. They planted, mulched, and watered. The after care was phenomenal. Would definitely use their service again. read more

We have had a really really bad experience with moon valley. Save your money and go somewhere else. We were sold 11 laurel trees by Thomas. He was selling a lot of things and didn't mention clearly about the packages. The price was premium compared to other places but we went with them coz of the additional support. On the day of planting the men didn't even put supporting posts and planted the trees crooked. When we asked they said they give support to the plants but we need to buy a more expensive $$ package which we were not told before. Making the cost astronomical. After 1 month, 2 of the trees are dying. Other 3-4 are on the verge of dying. After a lot of effort if we can reach the sales guy Thomas he is giving remedy on phone without even coming in to look at what's wrong as their guys planted it. We have 90 day plant protection policy. But so far it's been a horrible experience. Please save your time and money and find other nurseries. read more

I called Moon Nursery and spoke to Thomas Nguyen. He is knowledgeable and patient. I want to replace 2 dying Olive trees with 2 new ones. and wanted to understand the ins and outs of that. He walked me thought every step. It is quite a procedure as the old trees and roots, plus all the dirt must be removed and fungicide applied prior to replanting. A several months procedure. Then the replanting starts. There is value in dealing with just one vendor. I didn't want to go to Carmel Valley, I live in North County, so he met me In Escondido. Wonderful selection of Olives there. He and Dallan helped me pick out some really beautiful trees. All their trees are beautiful. Trees tagged and that's it until they are able to start working on my yard. I highly recommend Thomas as I got no pressure to buy today. Kind of thing. read more

Discovered the nursery by accident and loved the plants in the nursery. We hooked up with designer Angelica who helped us pick the plants and scheduled the planting at my home in Almaden Valley. On the day of planting, Nate and 3 teammates came by in a big truck on February 11, 2023, and planned all 8 trees, 1 blueberry bush, 6 icebergs rose bushes( 3 pink and 3burgundy) , 3 gardenias, 6 lemon cypress, and 4 herb plants. There were two issues as here 1. Iceberg roses bushes- Our order was for 3 burgundy iceberg roses bushes and 3 pinks. But we got all Pink roses. Discovered them only in mid-April, as then only the plants bloomed to show all pink. Working with Angelica. 2. Boke one of my irrigation pipes, when planting the fig tree, which prevented my drip from working along the side of my home. Discovered only in mid-April, the irrigation pipe was broken, after all the rain stopped. During the entire planting time, I was reminding Nate and his team to watch out for the irrigation pipe. Got resolutions for both my issues, in June from the 5 stars team ! read more

Bought two trees from Moon Valley. Altho this wasnt my first visit to this tree farm i was blown away when i first drove in by the display of gorgeous mature trees ready to go. Such a nice presentation. It was like a different world right of the frontage road. The place is huge and the selection is just as good. Such a great setup. The trees here are not inexpensive by any means but the quality and health is really impressive. They guarantee their products and dig and plant and feed for you so no holes to dig. This would be especially useful on large plantings. They have great garden products to boot. Go for a look at least and they cart you around on a golf cart and show you their property and varieties. My husband and I worked with Ani to find the perfect privacy tree for our sideyard (I wanted the pleached look), and after looking into a few different types of trees, we decided on 8 of the Indian Laurels Ficus'. Our intention was to really block out our neighbors for privacy and we loved that these can get as tall as you want, and then you can keep them trimmed to your ideal height.
