Inside there's some shelves with cat themed items for purchase, and they seem to share a space with an appointment-based nail artist. They serve some coffee and some matcha options that we didn't partake in. We came for a little sweet treat and picked up a slice of durian crepe cake. They had other flavors like, chocolate, strawberry and seasonal too. None are on display though some other pastries like cookies were. Durian crepe cake (4.5/5) was $12+tax/tip and came out nice and chilled. The durian flavor is delicate with the fresh cream layers, there's maybe 3-4 layers of durian throughout the cake, but more would be better. I would come back to get it again despite the cost since it's a rare flavor. read more

Cute Cat-Themed Cafe (No Real Cats!) Despite its name and all the cat decorations, Meow Me Cafe is not a real cat cafe: there are no live cats here. Instead, it's a cute Asian-inspired bakery and café with lots of cat-themed decor and gifts. They have a little gift section in the back selling adorable cat mugs, socks, plushies, and other fun trinkets. Perfect if you're a cat lover. Everything is made in-house, including their pastries and cakes. They offer unique treats like matcha milk toast, sesame matcha cookies, and crepe cakes. If you're looking for a whole cake, you can preorder one for $72. This is definitely a place I'll come back to whenever I'm craving crepe cake. The matcha crepe cake was really good, and they even have a durian crepe cake, which you don't see very often. For drinks, I recommend the Coconut Latte and the Sesame Black Latte. The café is small, clean, and cozy. They just celebrated their first anniversary and are planning to renovate to add more indoor seating. There's no restroom for public customers. The café sits right next to the railroad tracks, so you'll hear the train occasionally, but the noise isn't too bad if you're sitting inside. Sitting near a train track you'll find the most kawaii spot ever. Looks like it belongs in an anime. Enjoying a treat on their patio as you hear the trains go by sure does remind me of japan. So cute and cozy in this cafe! Upon walking in, you see an assortment of baked goodies and pastries. As you go in further, you can see they have shelves of cat merchandise! It's so cute! Their outside seating area is also very cute and can be pet friendly. I got a matcha latte and a matcha cookie. The matcha was good, but I wish it could have been a little sweeter. But, I can tell the barista whisked it by hand because of the dark green color, and the taste was very earthy, fresh, and healthy. It was a bit on the pricey side, because the cookie was nearly $4, but it tasted so good!! They have their prices of the pastries listed on the window, so you know what you're paying for. The barista was very kind and patient. He attended to me right away as soon as he heard the door open. I found this place on TikTok and honestly thought it was a cat café at first! It's right across from The Snug and The Ace of Spades, so the location is super easy to find. I came in around noon and it was pretty quiet -- only one person working -- but the cashier was incredibly nice and super helpful. He gave us lots of recommendations and even offered to make me a matcha when I didn't see it on the menu. And it was actually really good! They also offer a lunch deal, which is a nice bonus. There's tons of cute merchandise and fun items you can purchase, plus a separate room where people can hang out and chill. Came to check out this cat themed bakery on a Friday afternoon for some light bites before heading back home. This cafe has a lot of potential, but you can tell they're figuring things out. They opened in early June and the outside is super cute with signage and some seating. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they have their baked goods on display on the front counter along with the menu. Most of the drinks are premade but they did have a couple coffee drinks, including the coconut latte that I tried. When they're busy the line does get in the way of entering the back area where they have items for sale like mugs, socks, gifts, and trinkets. There was also a room with an open door that may be for enjoying your items there- but it was unclear and may have been a staff area. I didn't end up going in, but maybe a little sign would make it more clear. The coffee was ok, not something I'd go out of my way for and I feel like I need to try their baked goods to properly experience the business, since those seem to be what they're really known for. I'm interested to see how this business changes as they settle in. If the orientation of the cafe changes- maybe have the register in the back room with the store items in the room with the door, and seating in the front area? Stopped in with a few friends for some caffeine. I had seen this place online before, but was a little surprised by how it is in person. The decor is super cute and all centered on cats. They even have a room full of cat merch you can buy! There are lots of places to sit and it feels very cozy and homey. The staff are friendly but do not rush you. However, the food and drink options are very limited. They only make three drinks in house - lattes, coconut lattes, and matcha lattes. Everything else comes pre-packaged. The food does get made in house, but is also on the expensive side. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk. The oat milk was an additional charge and they did not have options for syrups or flavorings. The matcha itself is pretty high quality, but I don't know that I would come back unless they are able to expand their house-made offerings and adjust their prices. Edit: I should note that the tops they use for their drinks spill frequently and do not keep the liquid inside. Make sure you have a separate container to switch your drink into! read more

I stopped by with a friend to admire the cute cat items and try some tasty treats. The cat merchandise was absolutely adorable and the shop was bright and airy. The service was quick and efficient. We ordered a cinnamon twist, garlic bun, vanilla latte, and a chocolate lava toast. They warned up the treats for us and they were good! They only had one drink special. Hopefully with time they will have more options (maybe matcha for those of us who don't like coffee? :) ) I really wanted a crepe cake but you need you order in advance. Meow Me Cafe is such a cute local cafe. There is a counter at the entrance where you get your food and drinks. To the side of the shop there are displays with cat themed items from socks to coffee cups to keychains. I bought one of the little keychains while I was there. We stopped in on a Friday around 11 am. I ordered the madeleines and coconut latte. My friend ordered the mochi croissant and a cold brew coffee in a can. There is no seating inside but there are tables and chairs outside to use. Outside has a cute garden vibe. The person running the cafe was very nice and helpful. What a gem! This place is close to R Street such as Majika Pizzeria Bakery, Tea Cozy, and Camellia coffee roasters and much more! Beautiful I tried the pork floss pastry bun as the young gentleman recommended, in addition to the matcha mochi croissant, chocolate mochi croissant, and corn spinach ciabatta bread! Such a cute place to open up! It's in a yellow house in midtown and has a cute lil patio in the front where you can chill and eat. The service was so friendly and kind too! I suggest to come early to make sure they have all the pastries available but not too early as they may still be making them. We went right at opening and had to wait for more items to finish baking. We tried the matcha cookies, matcha croissant, and corn cheese pastries. Initial thoughts are that the matcha croissant was tasty! It had a sweet cream cheese filling, and the mochi top was stretchy, which made the overall pastry interesting. Matcha cookies tasted good as well, it is not overly sweet and have a strong matcha flavor. The corn cheese pastry would have been a 10/10 if it was warm. They brewed coffee and gave it out for free, which was nice! I wish they served matcha drinks or lattes, but they only have packaged drinks and baked goods. This cafe is super cute! Themed after cats, it's located in a corner two story house next to the train tracks, but the lower level of the house is turned into a bakery shop. This store has items pre-made and pre-packaged so it's super quick to pick what you'd like and leave. I was really bummed that this cafe doesn't make any drinks, only sold pre-made drinks. Here are the pastries I bought: 9/10 Mochi chocolate croissant: Although the croissant isn't crunchy/flaky, this was really good! The inside of the croissant has very light whipped chocolate cream and on top has mochi dusted with cocoa powder. It was delicious and not sweet at all. I definitely recommend trying it! 8/10 Potato bread: It's just mash potato enclosed in bread. A healthier version of a fried croquette is how I interpret this pastry. 8/10 Hotdog bread: The hotdog was good, and the bread was good. 8/10 Madeleines: It was a bit dry, but still delicious. Maybe it was sitting out there for quite a while. It was good. 6/10 Matcha sesame cookie: Same thing, but a bit stale. I taste more sesame than matcha. Was okay to me. Was so happy to finally have had time to stop by the store! It's such a cute place, with seating outside in the front yard and cute and cozy cat and plant decorations everywhere! It seems like they've expanded their menu and options more since some of the reviews I've read on Yelp. Still not too much of drink selections, but their coconut and matcha latte are indeed very good! They had a small variety of pastries at the front and then lots of merch displayed toward the back of the store, which I think stands out a lot considering what their branding is. I was also eyeing their crepe cakes but didn't realize you have to preorder, so I will have to try those next time (along with their lava toast)! I came here in the morning right when they opened last week and was honestly a bit underwhelmed! The outside was so cute with the gated seating area and it would be a cute place to hang out, but the drink options are all bottled so it's not a full on cafe, more like a bakery. A lot of the fun unique pastries I saw on Instagram weren't even available either, like the mochi croissant or matcha toast. I had waited 15 minutes already until they opened and was second in line so I felt like I had to get something since I was already there. I got a matcha sesame cookie which didn't taste same day fresh, a little bit too hard for me. I really wanted to love this place since we need more non-chain bakeries around! Such a cute little shop! I bought one of their pastries that caught my eyes, Matcha Mochi croissant. The mochi pairs so well with the croissant, it wasnt super chewy like your usual mochi it just compliments the croissant. There's also some matcha fillings inside. They have so many cute items for sale and also some items for your cats (toys, nail clippers, etc.). There was only one cashier staff, so not very much communication happening. Super cute Chinese bakery and matcha tea shop. We got regular drip coffee. Not great coffee and need real half and half cream, but instead given the packaged non-refrigerated ones. That was the down side. I gave it 5 stars for the location. It's hidden on a side street and steps away from the train track. Must have seen the 2-car light rail trains pass every 10 minutes. Went here over the weekend during their soft opening! I think it is so important to remember they are soft opening so obviously they are working through inventory and demand. I love that they have online ordering so that's what I did and the process was straightforward. They did text me a good amount of time before my set pick up time to let me know that they were swamped and asked if I could pick up a later time or get a refund. It was a chill Sunday for me so I agreed to pick it up later! I love the space, it's a tiny café style in-between a busy restaurant street and neighborhood. The outside has seats and honestly would have been a cute date spot. Pick up was easy and the staff were so kind! Please be patient with them! They are just two-ish people who are overwhelmed by the support they are getting. The crepe cakes were fresh and soft! The durian crepe cake was a great pick me up!
