Had a couple good old fashioned donuts here. They have different flavors - strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and glazed. There might be more since we were here in the afternoon. Note: the parking spot closest to the business has the accessible ramp but it's not marked so just keep an eye out for that and if possible leave it open for wheelchair or stroller access.

    So many sprinkles!

A Sac Town Staple! This walk up donut shop has been around for ages. They focus on the basics: quality and the classics. Our faves: old fashioned, sprinkles, and apples fritters. *to note: there is no indoor seating. This is a walk up window only. There is some, but limited parking. But luckily, it turns over pretty quickly as people tend to grab and go.

Cute little donut shop! I love this donut spot! They are so friendly and nice. The donuts are always fresh and warm. They melt in your mouth. I don't come here as often as I would like because it's a treat for me (I don't eat a lot of sweets) when I do. I probably come here once a month. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite as well as the donut holes. My husband loves the chocolate bar and the Apple fritter and our daughter loves the maple bar and the blueberry donut. The lines are usually long but they go by so quick. So worth the wait.

Apple Fritter, rainbow sprinkle, maple bar, cream filled, old fashion.

They're allll delicious!! And good prices - only $12 for these 6 donuts in the picture.

I tried the apple fritter and the chocolate bar. Wow, they are hands down the best apple fritter and chocolate bar I've had, and I've had the best from the Amish. The apple fritter had a harden glazed exterior and it paired perfectly with the soft and airy interior. I was hesitant to trying the chocolate bar because I've had dense ones before, but wow the dough was so soft and light I inhaled it pretty quick. Definitely recommend that two. 10/10.

This is a landmark store. It has been around for so long. I think 1950's The staff here are very friendly. You can see them making the donuts early in the morning. When I crave a donut late at night or early morning this is the place to go. They make them in order and I think around 2:30 AM is when my French donuts are made. It's the one that is all twisty in a circle. There is no place to eat here. It's just a building housing there shop and you eat it on the go. Love their apple fritters

We finally made it back! Who has the best donuts..especially late at night???? Marie's of course. Donuts are always the best but to get them fresh! Yum!!!!! It's a little hole in the wall that's been around for ages! Trust me, you'll never be disappointed! They are so old school that they even have the old antique register from back in the day. Their service is always amazing too. The couple are so friendly and always happy!

Super fast service and the lady was very sweet. Minimum for card payments is $5 but I mean that got me two donuts and a BUNCH of donut holes, so you def get your moneys worth. Love that you can see all the donuts from outside and that it's just a lil window you order from. Makes it standout in comparison to other places in the city. Also all my friends rave about this place and the flavors. We've never had a bad one. The mural is super cute and colorful. Highly recommend for your donut fixes!

yes - this place makes very fresh tasting donuts. hands down. One of the best donut places in Sac. i also understand that the original Marie's donuts is located on Watt ave in North Highlands. So this location is their second establishment. Gotta try the original location soon.

I'm not the biggest fan of donuts usually and might have 1-2 a year. I haven't been to Marie's in years but while driving 2 friends home at 1am one requested we stop to get fresh donuts. She ordered a dozen and the staff member helped with making the best selection, and was friendly and patient. We added a couple blueberry muffins as well. Everything came packaged nicely in a box and the staff member was nice enough to wrap the muffins individually for ultimate freshness. He offered a paper bag on the side so I could separate my donuts. This was a mistake as as soon as I touched the Buttermilk donut bar and realized it was warm I could not resist taking a bite immediately. It was heaven. Needless to say it did not make the drive to my house lol. Marie's is definitely a Sacramento gem, go get you some fresh donuts.

I'm not a donut fan but I do like a good apple fritter. I was in the area. It wasn't busy so I got a fritter. Huge, ate half now and half later. I only like them from apple hill and here. A small parking area. Lots of donut choices at a good price.

Nothing more than a wooden walk-up on Freeport Boulevard Marie's Donuts nonetheless remains Sacramento's premier Donut Shop, simple fried Dough made the same way since the 50's still drawing crowds while So.Cal lines up for $6 hand-cut rings at places like Sidecar. Still family-run at 70 years old, low-prices adding to its novelty, guests are greeted with a smile by staff from 10pm until 4pm with fresh options made to replenish supply of in-demand items like simple raised and glazed or Bismarks filled with Custard. Cash or Credit over $5, the Coffee hot but no better than Folgers, Marie's selection ranges from Cake to Fritters and Crullers, the later a bit less airy than they ought to be but Old Fashioned Cogwheels faultless beneath Maple Icing slightly penetrating as a result of being added while still hot.

Marie's is my go-to donut shop because they are open early in the day, early afternoon, and late night. Whenever I get donuts for my class, they put together a "mix dozen" and my students love it. They are constantly baking so the donuts are so fresh.

I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

They have a parking lot but it's shared with other businesses and always seems to be full, however there's a good amount of street parking and I found a spot closeby no problem. When I walked in it was a lot bigger than I expected and they had a good amount of seating. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but that quickly changed after I placed my order and I feel like there was a steady stream of customers the whole time I was there. I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!

Temple is one of those places where the espresso tastes like someone with a chemistry degree and a poet's soul got together and decided the rest of us deserved better mornings. The baristas manage to be both calm and alarmingly competent. You ask one tiny question about beans and suddenly you're getting a TED Talk from a caffeinated forest monk. And the people here actually talk to each other. Not in the fake networking-event way where everyone's secretly scanning for status. More like artists, students, organizers, remote workers, philosophers, exhausted grad students, startup people, and neighborhood regulars all accidentally sharing the same living room. Clean space. Serious coffee. Zero snob energy. Headquarters of the Revolution. Special mention to Sam, who was managing Temple Coffee Roasters when I walked in. You can tell immediately when someone genuinely enjoys helping people, and Sam absolutely does. She told me she loves adjusting drinks to fit exactly what people want instead of treating coffee like some untouchable sacred formula -- stronger, softer, sweeter, whatever makes the person in front of her happy. And she said something deeper still: helping people feel good is actually pretty easy... although sometimes it's hard. That kind of sums service up. Sam has that rare combination of warmth, competence, patience, and calm that quietly changes your mood. All of a sudden you feel like being kinda kinder. The coffee was excellent, but people like Sam are the reason places become part of a city's soul instead of just another café.

The design is old fashioned yet modern with a digital ordering interface. While the banana matcha was not my taste, the egg coffee was great! The coffee was strong yet good with a pandan waffle side! I anticipated staying up all night and did. This is for those who drink espresso or ca phe sua regularly. The tasty waffle helped balance the caffeine a little. The bathroom is cute and decorated with so much aesthetic, but the downside is no toilet seat covers.
