If nothing else these pancakes are so far the best in downtown. The block of hash brown is interesting as it's crispy and crunchy on the outside soft like a hot potato in the inside. I got the pork sausage and my wife the chicken. Personally I liked the pork better my wife the chicken. Service was prompt and pleasant and the ambiance can be a bit louder than average. Overall a good breakfast or brunch place if you're at the flower mart. They even have lunch options so don't take it from me. Come check this place out. I'll be back on the next visit out this way. Unfortunately, I always seem to have this experience with Instagram-famous and TikTok-viral locations. They focus way too much on what the food or reels look like and forget that they still need to serve the customer. The service was slow. Our server, Brea, treated us like a large group (which meant an automatic 20% gratuity), but she didn't take all of our orders at the same time. Instead, she made us wait as if we were separate tables. She took the orders from two sections of our group and then just left. We thought she was simply putting menus away and would come right back. Nope. She cleaned other tables, cashed out another table, and we eventually had to wave her down just to place the rest of our order. The food was good, but not good enough to overlook the service. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. The first few bites were delicious, but after a while the grits became a little too salty for my liking. Overall, I'm glad I tried it at least once. My husband ordered the Waffle Chicken Sandwich, which was really good. The sauce tasted similar to buffalo sauce, and it paired well with the sweetness of the waffle. Unfortunately, the wait for our checks was just as bad. Our server would make eye contact with us and then continue doing other things. It was ridiculous how little she checked on us after taking our order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables and chairs were already uncomfortable, so having to sit there even longer waiting to pay was frustrating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only reason this is a 3-star review and not lower is because the food was really good and well seasoned. Came back to Poppy + Rose after years of thinking about it, and it did not disappoint. Ordered the pulled pork hash again and it was everything -- a crunchy brick hashbrown, flavorful and tender pulled pork, with a sunny side egg that just ties the whole thing together when broken into. The flavors and textures all worked so well with each other, it's the kind of dish that sticks with you. It was literally the dish that converted me into liking breakfast/brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly and the space is cute and cozy -- exactly the vibe you want for weekend brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do miss their rooftop seating though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some street parking and nearby parking lots you have to pay for. It does get busy, so make a reservation in advanced! Enjoyed this meal, and will not be waiting years to return this time.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I came here on a holiday morning with a friend and there was plenty of open seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a hot chai and the biscuits and gravy. The chai was delicious, while the food was just alright. It didn't wow me. The biscuits were a bit tough to cut through on the bottom and the plate was half bland salad unfortunately. I wish the food had been a bit more impressive, but it was still a decent option for breakfast downtown.

I ordered the fried chicken Eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns and a vanilla latte. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. The fried chicken was dry, the biscuit was dry, and the hash browns were also overcooked and dry. I had to ask twice for my vanilla latte, and I didn't receive it until about 30 minutes later because I kept reminding our server. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of bacon and a vanilla latte. The one bright spot was the staff. The employees and the manager were very kind and apologized for the delays. They even comped my latte, which I appreciated. Overall, while the service was friendly, the long wait despite having a reservation, the delays with our drinks, and the quality of the food didn't justify the price. I wanted to enjoy brunch here, but unfortunately, it wasn't worth the cost for me.

Food is great. Location is right in the middle of Flower Mart. So it is a no brainer to go to breakfast after an early morning shopping for flowers. They seated us and kind of forgot about us for a bit. But a lovely waiter came to our rescue and made everything fun again. Their Brick of Hash Brown Potatoes is a "must try". It is a bit big and hard to finish, but delightfully crispy. My friend had a pulled pork sandwich and loved it. Another friend had a standard egg breakfast, and she raved about the whole wheat toast. I subbed a biscuit for toast and wished I had ordered the toast! Fresh squeezed limeade and orange juice are totally worth ordering. This is my second visit and I will be back!
Came in during Saturday 12:30pm for their peak hour. We had a reservation at 12pm thru their Open Table link, but unfortunately ran late from typical LA traffic. We couldn't be seated right away given that we were late, and the wait ended being an extra 15 minutes longer for our party of 7. They really made it work for us, so we were very appreciative. Parking: Our group split up between $8 and $10 nearby lots for the whole day. All within a 5 minute walk away. Location: Right across the street from the Original LA Flower Market warehouse. Fun activity to do after eating. Also had a bunch of other flower and plant shops nearby. Restrooms: Shared with the Flower Market. Clean, and no need for a code. Just push the door. Food: Last but not least - scrumptious food! Plating is beautiful, and food was very satisfying. I got the chicken + waffles, and it was delicious with the honey and butter glaze. If you're looking for more leafy greens, I also highly recommend the Fried Chicken Egg Benedict.
The food is so good and wholesome ordered the pancakes with eggs and bacon; these have to be some of the best pancakes I've ever tried! Finished every last bite! The seating in the restaurant is open and wide; it is more of a family sitting style. We had a little hiccup during our brunch but our waiter Nathan was quick to resolve our issues and was very attentive! We'll definitely be back!
My Regular coffee smooth. Avo toast was on point with the garnishes. I ate my son's leftover waffle and it was the perfect ratio of perfect. I strategically visited on Sunday because LA natives know Street parking is mostly free on Sundays. I felt the presence of the parking gods with me when i found an empty space in a nearby yellow curb. I was only a few feet away from Poppy and Rose. Luckily, at 9:15am there was no wait to get seated and plenty of tables to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we left, it was certainly getting full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] "El que madruga, Dios los ayuda" vibes here. (God helps those who rise early.) So visit early for that service with a smile and no wait!
Very very good chicken and waffles! Being from the south I LOVE chicken and waffles and these are one of the best in the city! No parking -paid parking only
The food was amazing! We made a reservation and were seated timely. Service was friendly and attentive. The lot they mention isn't open Sundays but there's a lot at the end of the block. The French Toast has a bread pudding consistency to it but not at all soggy; that was excellent and flavorful. The fried chicken was well-seasoned! The chicken sausage patty was perfection The Lumberjack was a great selection of everything! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The only down side was that our table wasn't very steady. It has a cafeteria vibe inside.

Service was meh. It wasn't really welcoming up front, but they were pretty busy, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They do give you a pitcher of water when you sit down, but I prefer ice-cold water, so definitely ask for ice because the water was barely cold--almost room temperature. We got the mimosa kit, which was perfect to share between two people. Now onto the food! The steak BBQ breakfast burrito was AMAZING, especially with the BBQ sauce on the side. That is definitely not regular BBQ sauce, so I'm assuming it's made in-house because it was GOOD! We also ordered the wings, but they were pretty regular and honestly not my favorite. Lastly, the shrimp and grits were a no for me. I wasn't a fan of the grits at all. Overall, it was okay. I'd come back for the breakfast burrito, but there were definitely some hits and misses. read more

Sunday Brunch! Joined my friend in celebrating her Mom's Bday! We were a party of 8( with reservation 11am)& were greeted & seated quickly. Staff were Nice. Server took our Drinks & Meal orders( Most of us knew what we wanted, looked at menu online) Majority ordered Chicken & waffles, burger, & I ordered Crab/Avocado Benedict. Everyone liked their food, though I wish there was more Crab on my Benedict. The Cappuccino & coffee was good. I saw some reviews prior to coming to Poppy & some were for slow service. We picked a good time because the restaurant didn't start to get really busy until it was time for us to leave. The service time for our food was fine, especially since we were ready to order when we sat. ( we were all 1st time customers) [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Biggest part is dreaded was the Restroom! Ugh! While the restaurant's decor is Nice & clean. Once you entered the hall to the bathroom ..you knew you were in DTLA! It's shared & maintained by the Flower mart folk. It's Grungy ,Old, & gross. Im surprised it had tissue! But No Paper towels! Luckily I had my own! Please put some $ in having own facilities or help better maintain this one[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Came to poppy + rose for the first time and what a delight it was. Was looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled across this cute little restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was so mellow and chill with an eclectic choice in music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Brea was my server and was the realest serve making the experience so pleasant. She gave EXCELLENT recommendation when it came to deciding on a meal. Ended up getting the egg Benedict with crab and avocado and BAY BEE!! It was out of this world. Was able to wash it down with a dirty matcha latte that was right on point and the lavender sweetener couldn't have been the better choice. Must say this has definitely been a spot I will have to come back again. Definitely one for the books for me. Thank you for your service read more
Brunch spot that serves Iced Matcha, Lattes, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and other yummy foods like healthy fruit bowls and salads. Ambience wise it's very crowded together, you are glued to your neighbors and can smell their food and hear their conversations. Service was very kind, our servers were friendly and fast. The food was tasty but waaaaaay overpriced. My fruit bowl was $5 for a small amount of pineapple, berries and melon. My almond milk matcha was $7, plus tax and tip I payed $17! My friends got a breakfast burrito and fries plus drinks. It was a nice experience to try out once but I'd never come back here on my own. Nothing memorable about the food or restaurant. read more

Visited on a Sunday from Chicago. We got in fairly quickly with our reservation. It was a buzzing place that resembled a cafeteria. The service was on the slower side but not bad. However our table near the door to the bathroom wobbled and the server was unable to fix it. My French vanilla latte was yummy, but a $2 add-on charge for oat milk is ridiculous. It became an $8 or $9 drink, which I really should have passed on in hindsight. The limeade is also overpriced at $7.50. As for the food, my chicken and waffle was quite good. Chicken was seasoned well and the waffle was nice. Similarly, the pancakes in the lumberjack meal were great. The French toast had a bread pudding-like vibe which was also tasty. We all left very satisfied. I'd definitely recommend plus it is family friendly. read more
Went to Poppy+Rose once, and it has been my desire breakfast spot everytime I'm in LA now, so fricken delicious! I've tried a couple different things on each visit from whoever I go withs plate, but I order the fried chicken waffle sandwich each time, cause it's just THAT good. Crispy, tender, tasty, small sweetness with a tiny punch of spice, just an amazing breakfast item that you can't help but just want more of. I got a lavender matcha with it as well which is one of the best matchas I've ever had. Servers are really nice, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]each time I've went it's a bit on the busier side, so it's normal to have lots of convo and a bit of noise, but respectful and wonderful, not too much.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, Poppy+Rose has to get 5 stars from me undeniably cause they food is just that good read more

This was a fun brunch spot. I managed to get a reservation on open table for five people on a Sunday. It was super busy and loud. You kind of had to shout to hear each other. Service was accommodating but on the slower side. Food was good. The chicken and waffles were well made. They weren't the best I've ever had. There was nothing unique about them and flavor was on the lighter side, but definitely hits the spot if you are craving them. I also tried the Pulled pork hash... it was also well cooked, just the flavors weren't my favorite. It was pretty sweet with not much other flavor happening. I'm gonna just say that this was not for me but could totally be someone's favorite dish depending on their palate. read more
Just stopped by again, staff is great. Food is excellent. Buttermilk chicken is a wing and boneless thigh, but we were offered opportunity to change to 2 pieces of either. My husband was a big fan of Pulled Pork Sandwich. While I love the idea of communal tables, Poppy & Rose is very loud. Add a loud talker at a communal table and it's very difficult to hear. That being said, hostess was excellent and offered us alternative solutions which had a small wait. We kept our seat and as restaurant cleared out, close to 1pm it was much more manageable. read more
Food is good and recommend the hash browns but I'd not likely go again because of the service. The hostess kept people waiting when there were plenty of seats open and plenty of servers standing around. They asked people to wait outside in 90 degree weather even when we were standing by the wall not blocking the entrance. The party next to us told us they were waiting an 1/2 hour and then they got sat at a table that had been the open the whole time. We had reservations and they still made use wait for 15 minutes with open tables. Google Maps takes you to the parking lot that is about 1.5 blocks away. I called twice to ask for clarification and after a few words they hung up on me twice, I Felt so bad for recommending this place for a birthday brunch. read more

If you're familiar with downtown Los Angeles, then you know exactly what I'm talking about lol. Thankfully, the food and service didn't match outside the door lol. Cool little breakfast spot in dtla. Service was great as soon as we walked in. Drinks took a bit to come out but our food joined them so it wasn't a huge knock. $15 for a mimosa is sooooo LA though. Had chicken and waffle and flavor was great. Really enjoyed the dish. Only thing holding back a stellar review was the shared bathroom was really gross. It's not theirs so can't totally blame them but I'd be finding a way to figure that out asap read more
Menu prices increased by a dollar but no fret, it was still good. Parking is $9, but with validation is only $6 (please get it stamped at front by the waiter). I liked the square hash browns, it was very interesting and flavorful with the right texture. Eggs were good and the biscuit was ok. Didn't care much for the chicken patty though and jam. I wish there was salt and pepper provided at the tables but otherwise okay. Service was sweet! read more

I've always heard of Poppy + Rose and wanted to make a visit for a while. The setup of the restaurant was very cute, and the customer service was decent. When it came to the food, it was pretty mediocre, and I wished from all the hype, it would've been better, especially the potato square. The portions are definitely on the smaller side, especially the one rectangular waffle given with the chicken, which still has you hungry after just eating. I'm happy I was able to try it, but that was the last time. read more
I was able to try their Chicken and Waffles and their Eggs Benedict. Both were good! The wait took quite some time - I believe they are walk in only but don't quote me on that. The food was average, but the reason I'm rating it slightly above average is because the ambiance is spot on and gives great vibes. The service was good too! read more
Oh yes. My wife and I have passed this place many times when visiting the adjacent Flower market in DTLA - and it was always busy. After we had all our flowery-needs yesterday I asked my wife to Yelp "best breakfast in DTLA" and it popped up - the Poppy & Rose - and we were standing in front of it. I must say two things: I did not find the ambiance too appealing and they you could hear through the open door it was extremely loud. Still, we gave it a try - and I can tell you: it was delicious. Our server - one you would describe as the typical California surfer boy - was extremely charming - so despite the so-so ambiance and the noise we will definitely go again. Would we make a 30+ min detour just to eat here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve five out five): again, oh yes! read more
Service was amazing. The place is packed with people... BUT do not be discouraged. They take your phone. Umber and will text you when your table is ready. It's right across from the flower mart... so getting to walk through the flower mart while waiting for a table is NOT a bad thing at all. The drinks were beautiful, fresh and delicious. Pulled Pork hash was good and big enough to share with my wife. Interesting creation but definitely prepared properly. Hash brown was excellent. Pulled pork was a bit acidic but overall enjoyed. Would recommend trying but would go another way if I came back or would share this and get something else. Market salad was very good and very fresh. We were in the area and needed breakfast and this spot came up as one of the best. Located across from the LA Original flower market, they were busy on a Saturday morning around 11-despite, only a 20 minute wait. A good selection of Breakfast favorites, Sandwiches and Salads as well House cocktails and coffee. Cappucino and Iced Mocha were both delicious. The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict was tasty. Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffles were enjoyed with Honey Butter taking it over the top. Fried Chicken Benedict as well the Fried Chicken Sandwich didn't disappoint. Service was upbeat and fast. Unfortunately there are no elevators, the restroom is downstairs in the restaurant.

Nope. But you get good champagne! But only orange juice. Not q fan of oj so used a strawberry drink they have.
Are you able to accommodate a group of 10? Looking to visit in 3 weeks
as of now, I believe they're only allowing a maximum of 6 people per party. I’m sure you guys can split into 2 tables though.

oof! The menu does slightly change so definitely check it out before going. There are few gluten-free options (2-3), however, you can modify some meals so that is gluten-free, but no. no guarantee
Do you guys have blended margaritas?
No. However, the mimosa situation is quite nice. as is the lavender red wine spritzer.
Do they take reservations for weekday lunch? Nothings showing up on open table lol
I don't think they require reservations during the week.
Does Poppy Rose offer bottomless mimosa brunch on the weekends?
Not bottomless perse, however, you do get a full bottle of brute (it is delicious!) and bottomless OJ 😁. I feel it was well worth the price.
