Came here for breakfast over the weekend. One thing to note: you order by scanning the QR code at your table, otherwise no one will come by to take your order. We actually decided to check this place out after reading reviews about the complimentary ginger shots... unfortunately, we didn't get any. As for the food, the Eggs Benedict and breakfast sandwich were both delicious. Our favorite item, though, was the potatoes. They reminded us of crispy hash browns, but made with small roasted potatoes instead. So good! Overall, the food was tasty and worth trying for a weekend breakfast spot.

Stopped for brunch since my husband was working nearby. Service was kind but pretty minimal that day. We were seated and given a nice vase of water. They explained that ordering and payment happen online or up front inside, so it felt a bit self-serve after that. Drinks and food took longer than expected to come out. The portions were generous and satisfying. I went with the Loxex omelet (scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, tomatoes, onions), and the grilled potatoes on the side were spot-on. My husband ordered the chilaquiles, which he found a little too salty and soggier than he prefers. His cappuccino however, was very delicious. The menu has tons of appealing options, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for creative brunch dishes.

I must say this was a wonderful experience and I'm grateful I came through. It was my first time coming to Blu Jam Cafe and BAY BEE!! I was satisfied. Managed to get outside seating and it was so peaceful, calm, blissful and soothing. The server seated me and got me taken care of immediately starting me off with water and gave me some great recommendations. Answered my questions and was patient while at the same time being knowledgeable about the selection of food they serve. Everything is through an app which I didn't mind so I ordered the Norwegian Benedict and breakfast potatoes with a dirty matcha latte. I must say they chef did their thing because the food was . Afterwards I was able to unwind and let the food digest for a bit and it was a peaceful and slow start to a Sunday morning. Definitely found a new gem that I will be coming back to for sure. Thank you for serving me.

I had a wonderful experience at Blu Jam Cafe. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the Vegan Tostada. The tostada was full of flavor and seasoned to perfection. The tofu tostada was very crispy and crunchy which was delicious! The potatoes were also cooked perfectly. My son had the hangover scramble, sourdough toast and Blueberry Jam. He enjoyed his food also. He wanted a container of the Blueberry Jam to take home. We also ordered a Mimosa, Matcha Latte and a regular Latte. They were all delicious. I love the large mugs they put the hot drinks in. The service was good. You have to order from a QR code at your table. The food came out pretty quick. This location is located between Broadway and Spring Street. You can enter on either street. They have outside and inside seating available. I can't wait to visit this location again.

Went for brunch before it started getting really busy. Really great place because it's in this indoor alley that has different restaurants and coffee shops. We sat outside and I really enjoyed it because you get this kind of indoor outdoor feel. I got the Tuscany Scramble and wow it was really delicious. If you like pesto, you would love this a lot, I didnt know what to expect because I had nothing like this before, but the description was accurate. I was torn on either the tuscany scramble and the chilaquiles, but i really enjoyed my meal. I would totally go here again to get the chilaquiles or something that catches my eye.

I'm going to be honest. When I first walked into Blu Jam Cafe in Downtown LA, I was already judging the place. I don't know what it was, but I just wasn't feeling it at all. I honestly thought this spot was going to be mid and probably another overrated DTLA brunch place. But the second the food hit the table. Everything changed. I ordered a burger, salad, French toast, and an Arnold Palmer. The burger was cool. Nothing bad, but nothing amazing either. Just decent. The salad was good too. BUT THAT ARNOLD PALMER?!?!?! 10/10. Legit probably the best Arnold Palmer I've ever had in my life. Super Bomb! And the French Toast?!?!?! BRO... WTF. Easily the best French toast I've ever had and probably some of the best in all of Los Angeles, not just Downtown LA. That French toast literally saved this place from getting 3-4 stars from me. I'm dead serious when I say I'll come back just for that alone. Overall, I ended up leaving really impressed. Glad I gave this place a chance. 100% recommended.

Look how presentable the plates are! The food was good, but not great. I'd say the quality was just better than average! The menu is expansive though, and I'd be curious to return and try other plates/drinks. They have sangria, and I definitely want to try it next time. The service however, was so great! All the staff were quick, attentive, and friendly. They didn't rush us out or anything, either. Lastly, I did enjoy the location. There is an outdoor patio that is in a hallway of various businesses; it's covered/shaded, and yet still outside. Overall, it's a decent brunch in the middle of Downtown LA!

This is a nice, cozy spot in DTLA with a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered multiple dishes, and everything we tried was good lots of flavor and great variety to choose from. The only downside was the wait time, which was a bit longer than expected. However, the overall experience was still enjoyable, especially because of the wide selection of dishes available. I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu.

This neat little cafe is tucked in a food hall-ish area that looked like it could've been a train station of sorts back in the day. We came here on a Thursday around 12pm and it wasn't too busy. There's paid parking lots across the street, but it's in DTLA, so the area feels a little urban. We were met with wonderful service from the moment we entered. They have some seating inside and outside, but it's a lot cooler inside their restaurant than the "patio" area. Also, there's no restroom at this place. You have to ask for a ticket and go over to the security guard who will unlock the doors to the publicly shared restroom for you. Anyways, we got the breakfast carbonara and chilaquiles. I liked that they offered us an amuse bouche of a berry crepe. The crepe was really good and probably was the star of our whole meal. The breakfast carb was more of a risotto/mushy fried rice with peas, eggs, and pancetta. It tasted alright, but we couldn't help thinking about similar it was to fried rice. The chilaquiles was alright. The chips were on the thinner side, which caused them to get super soggy really fast with the watery sauce. While the flavors were there, the texture was not. This spot is more of an order at the front and pay at the front kind of place. Overall, great service, decent food.

We tried blu jam because of the reviews and proximity to our hotel. We stopped in for breakfast which was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant does not have servers but a hostess and then bussers/food runners. You can either order from your phone through a QR code or at the front station which I thought was interesting. We ordered a fresh squeezed oj which was delicious and definitely freshly squeezed. The iced latte had a great strong flavor. The only complaint is I drank it too fast. The breakfast sandwich had a perfect crisp to the bread. The egg was cooked spot on to medium so had a slight yolk dripping. The bacon was very crispy and overall it was an incredible breakfast sandwich. The crunchy French toast is breaded with a ground up cornflake. It was very crispy and came topped with fresh berries and two sides of a delicious vanilla sauce. We had a great breakfast and would recommend this spot to anyone.

Extensive menu The food here was good, nothing mind-blowing but enjoyable overall. I liked that they give you the option to self-order through your phone or go the traditional route with a server -- that was convenient. The menu is huge though. Honestly a little overwhelming with so many items to read through, it made it hard to decide what to get. I didn't love sitting inside. There's no A/C and with the open kitchen so close, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable. If you can, I'd recommend waiting for outdoor seating -- much more comfortable. Overall, the food was good and the ordering options were solid, but I'd stick to sitting outside next time.

We LOVED our breakfast so much we came back for both mornings of our LA visit. The food is fresh, interesting and delicious!! French toast, breakfast sandwiches and potatoes were fantastic. Lattes were on point too. Highly recommend!! - Three girls from Idaho

Dinner was $70 per person and consisted entirely of shared plates. It turned out to be plenty of food. We started with the roasted shishito peppers and the crispy pork belly. But I still liked this. I wouldn't order it again because, yeah, I really don't like beets. But if you like them even a little, you should get this. I actually ate several bites of this, and it was nice. The Sichuan Chili Bass presented a similar situation as I don't really like fish - but again, I ate this and it was quite tasty. Dessert was a "s'mores" situation - a messy, glorious bowl of chocolate, meringue, graham cracker crunch and strawberries. Service was awesome - perfectly pacing the meal. My friend had a couple of cocktails which were gorgeous. And the room is lovely and light. I don't love the neighborhood and parking can be tough. I definitely would come early unless you're taking a taxi. Genuinely surprised how much I liked this meal. Everything was very well done and clearly made with care without seeming fussy or too precious. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. This is a place to take your out-of-town friends to.

The food was overall tasty, although I felt my steak was tougher than usual for the price point. The shrimp ceviche, although good quality and refreshing, had a slightly bitter taste to it (more so than the usual citrus tang) which I felt detracted from the overall flavor. It kind of felt like there were too many ingredients to it which detracted from the tasty simplicity that the dish is known for, although that is just my opinion and someone else may enjoy it more. The service on the other hand was not particularly good. Our waitress came off as slightly standoffish when asked about gluten free options and failed to refill our water cups multiple times throughout the meal, to the point my partner had to get up and do it herself. The sneaky 4% service charge automatically added to the bill also left a bad taste in my mouth. I have always been of the mind that the responsibility of compensating staff adequately falls on the business, not the public, and any extra tip is for good service and should remain optional by the customer, especially when they charge this much for basic entrees. Our bill came out to over $100 for two people (2 dishes, 1 shared appetizer, no drinks besides water) for breakfast. Overall I'd give this place 3.5 stars, worth checking out, but probably not worth frequenting often. Ambiance is an 8.5/10, the food was about a 7/10, the value was a 6/10, and the service was a 5/10. The food was solid, the ambiance was nice, the value is average to below average, and the service could use a little work. That being said, it's a nice place worth checking out, just make sure you ask to have that 4% charge removed from your bill, and tip accordingly.

Let this be a reminder to always ask (nicely) if your table can be cleaned before you enjoy your meal!

We celebrated my birthday at République, and it was truly the perfect night. From the moment we…read morearrived, the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming, and the service was exceptional throughout the entire evening. The food was absolutely stellar. My husband and I loved everything about our meal, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and memorable. The bluefin tuna toast was a standout, beautifully presented with a delicious smoky flavor and kaluga caviar. The hamachi crudo brought a fresh brightness to the meal and was the perfect contrast to some of the richer dishes. The tableside Dover sole was an experience in itself, and the lobster campanelle had such unique and wonderful flavors. Everything was outstanding, but what made the evening especially memorable was the combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and the warm atmosphere. République made my birthday feel truly special. We had an incredible evening and can't wait to return!

big, nice, sprawling and relaxing place to have a bite. there is a lovely outdoor courtyard, or you…read more can eat inside in what feels like a rustic / modern farmhouse space. by that i mean open ceilings, beams, lots of 'raw' style. its all elegant, relaxing, and has an upscale touch. came for a casual business meeting around 6pm and it was the perfect ambience and setting. didn't have a TON to eat since biz is biz and i don't want spinach in my teeth. but the fish i had, and the appetizer ceasar salad my colleague and i shared, plus some vodka drink i forget what it was (if i forget it must have done the trick), were all very good. service was colorful and lovely (a very varied cast haha). a huge variety of diners, families, etc, all clearly enjoying themselves which says a lot about the place. highly recommended. ps - there is no parking on sunset 4-7pm so, you have to hunt down a space on a side street if you come early! and there are some parking limits ie 1 hour, 2 hour... depending on how close you park. i think i parked on wilcox on an off street and it was like 3 blocks away but its fine bc u should walk after you eat!

Server was friendly and even shared which items are full portions for DineLA! ~First Course~ Parker House Rolls Went with this bc they are known for bread. It is similar to Hawaiian rolls and tastes great, but I don't think it was necessary to eat this here. The store bought ones, after some prep, can be comparable. Roasted Meatballs might be more money worth for the 1st course because of portion! Comes with a slice of focaccia bread. But the bread came a little cold so wasn't the best tasting. ~Main Course ~ Crispy Skinned Rainbow Trout Amaze amaze amaze. Would order this again! The trout was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, flakey and tender. Not dry at all, which is my biggest pet peeve against fish. This is also very money worth because reg price is $31 and they gave the full portion. Mary's Chicken Schnitzel Very tender chicken! I know it's like European but... my taste buds wants to put katsu sauce on it. ~Dessert~ Panna Cotta I was a bit apprehensive going with this order because I'm not big on jello-like pudding, but this version was milky and soft which I much preferred. And I enjoyed scraping everything off the plate. The other dessert option was chocolate cake (not full portion) and it is delicious. Would rec. ps. they also have a seafood selection that was very tempting!

Our server Kevin was very knowledgable regarding the dishes and his personal recommendations were excellent. Ambiance: 4.8/5 Drinks: 4.8/5 - Coupe of Joe: was one of the best I've had (Espresso Martini). Balanced perfectly and not too bitter of a finish. Appetizers: 4.8/5 Herbed Duck Fat fries - Perfect crisp, not too heavy, extremely smooth potato texture within. Seasoned perfectly. - The accompanying mayo sauce was great. Only thing I'd mention was the cavier on top of the sauce was more of a garnish and felt like it's purpose was to visually elevate rather than contribute to its taste as the sauce was naturally heavy. Sides: 4.7/5 Pan Seared Mushrooms - Standalone. Could have easily devoured this on its own and been happy. Sautéed Spinach - Great acidity that cut through the umami of the entree in a refreshing and complimenting way. Not too oily or heavy. Entree: 4.8/5 Wagyu Oxtail Grilled cheese (off menu) - Excellent flavor. Cooked to perfection and just the right portion size. Dessert: 3.5/5 Rugelach - Ok all around. The lemon chantilly cream was a nice touch but overall nothing too special. Service: 4.3/5 Like I mentioned, very warm and welcoming all around. I especially loved how our server Kevin seemed so passionate about the food he was describing. However, despite being the first reservation when they opened, the time between ordering, receving check-ins, and collecting the check, were all pretty long. The intangibles were solid, but the actual service time dragged. Total: 4.5

The food was wonderful - we loved the steak the ceaser salad dressing was amazing but the fish item - the Nagril item was too deep fried and instead of sending it back - we were starving after our 1 hour and 45 minutes for it to arrive. in the end we did what FERNANDO asked us to - write a review - but in LA : We leave places like this and while smart dishes like 'The Parkway' or a 'Knuckle Sandwich' are ready to be presented - we would have cashed out asap if we had known that the non-action in the kitchen was a thing. The Chef might have been from New York - but he was no where to be found - much like his kitchen staff staring back into the dining room - with. their. mouths. open. Give this place time. They are creating unnecessary obstacles and dont have enough staff to justify the dead silence for the hours you will wait to receive anything - nothing is bussed - nothing is cleaned and nothing will be addressed during the times you could easily leave without paying for the bill. We will be back but will need to plan for a small meal before as this spot cannot handle the high demands of a very very very small seating footprint.
