Food was served quick and tasted great. You can smell the bbq as you walk up and that's what I got. The pulled pork was awesome.

Ordered a to-go order of 2 adult shakes & Chile cheese fries. First of all, NO ONE was wearing masks. Even the damn waitresses (minus 2) weren't wearing masks. No social distancing. I had to wait 10 min before anyone came to greet me. The fries needed salt BAD. They didn't give me a fork. The shakes were filled 3/4 way. They were supposed to have alcohol but I couldn't taste anything at all. The waitress handled my card and other people's dirty plates and THEN TOUCHED THE TIP OF MY STRAWS AND PUT THEM IN WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. I threw them away and got new ones at the gas station. Honestly I should've never ate there. Way too much contamination. $34 dollars wasted. Don't go here, you're probably safer at McDonald's. read more

The decor takes you back in time while enjoying a delicious meal. My favorite is the biscuits, sausage and gravy. It comes with hash browns and I ordered a side of scrambled eggs. My husband ordered the moonlight breakfast sandwich. The tater tots were so good! Crunchy outside and soft inside. October 2020 was the first time my husband and I ate here. We returned to eat during our latest trip in February 2021. Surprisingly, we had the same server. Judy is so sweet, attentive and I'm glad we were able to stop here again. Stopped in the am after our flight into Denver to let traffic settle down. I did the kitchen sink, everything was solid. Biscuit appeared not homemade, so set that aside. But pancakes, gravy, assorted meats and eggs were good. Daughter #1 had the Philly sandwich, beef seemed a little under seasoned but she liked it and the Aus jou. #2 had a burger and it disappeared quickly. Wife had a Denver omelette and pancakes. It had a foul smell and one of the toilets, let's just say wasn't clean. There was toilet paper thrown an the floor the place was just a mess. It took half an our to get our drinks, and there was no acknowledgment. In fact, the server (and every other employee) avoided making eye contact when it was obvious that we had been waiting an inordinate amount of time. Ok. This diner does some things good and some things ok. After all, it is a diner and what they offer is a good variety of food for a good price. Moonlight does just that. Some thing are great and some things are good. One of the greats was the chili cheese tater tots. Loved by all. The milkshakes were loved by all. The chicken fried anything wins everytime. Hubby enjoyed the club with fries and I enjoyed the pork green chili burger with vegetables, no bun.......super delish. Shane took very good care of us. COVID friendly! We will always come back!! Okay.... so the food was really good, the coffee was excellent and with the exception of a server named Leslie, the service was meh... for that matter, the reason for the 3 is a 2 point deduction for the lack if service... again with the exception of Leslie who noticed me at the counter from her section and caught on that I'd not been served or asked what I'd like... not even to drink. She went out of her way to take my order, check on my foods progress, bring me my water and coffee... all while not sitting in her area... Give that gal a raise!!! Thank you Leslie!!! Flies everywhere. Poor service. Food was okish however the service certainly ruined it. The staff was lazy, and I rarely got checked on. At a point in I had staff asking me to help them do their job. A happy little place. They serve breakfast all day. I had corned beef hash with hash browns and two eggs. It was mediocre at best. I would honestly say everything on the plate tasted the same. HORRIBLE DISCRIMINATORY SERVICE FROM THE STAFF TO THE MANAGER. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND WILL LIE AND BLAME TO COVER THEIR OWN POOR SERVICE. We came as a group of 7 people and asked if we could sit at an open table that clearly had enough seats for all of us. The host said it is reserved for a group that had not arrived. So we asked if we could be split into two different booths and we were told they would check. While waiting for 20-30 minutes, we saw multiple groups get seated in front of us. When the large booth opened, they gave it to a different party even though we were waiting much longer. When we asked what was going on, our questions were not answered and we were given so much attitude and discrimination. We asked to speak to the manager, who lied to us about whether our entire party had arrived at the same time. Instead of listening to us and trying to help us, he lied, he was incredibly rude, and he refused to serve us. If I could give zero stars, I would. If this is how you treat your customers, you don't deserve to run a business. read more

Phenomenal service! Wish we caught the name of the young women (hair in a bun) that took our takeout order today. We just arrived in town and had a 3 hr trip to Salida ahead of us. She made sure that the kitchen got all 4 of our orders (with a few dietary requests) exactly right - and she did this all without writing anything down - again phenomenal! So was the food!
