Great staff, tasty pies, craft brew AND homemade soda on tap. What's not to like? I'll add a couple more, just because I'm gushing... they have a $5.50 (used to be $5 sad face) lunch special of a slice and a BEER- available every day. Are you kidding me? Does today end in "y"? Perfect post ski spot for beer and pizza. The wait was about an hour both nights we went (Thursday and Saturday), but definitely worth it. Staff was extremely friendly which made the experience that much better. Three of us ordered our own pizzas, the smalls were perfect for me and my younger nephew. The 16 year old knocked out a medium on his own. We would definitely recommend Moonlight for any visitors to Salida. read more

Unbelievable! After a super long day and being stuck in a hotel, we found the best restaurant ever! We ordered the caveman pizza, as well as a moonzone?!?! Which is a calzone essentially, growler of homemade root beer, and a beer growler. EVERYTHING TASTED AMAZING! I wish we lived here and could eat it regularly, but we will always remember to stop when we are in town. And drink as much of the best root beer in the world, as we can! read more

For out of towners, the ability to sit outside at sunset on the mountains and eat delicious pizza was amazing. My son was entertained while we waited with the bags (cornhole) game at the front area of the restaurant. The pizza topping selections were extensive. Our pizzas came with generous toppings. Leftovers were not a problem as we were fighting over the last piece. They make their own beers in house and one we tried was good. Our only complaint was our server was not the best, but we would not let that stop us from going back again. read more

I was so excited to try this place with how good the reviews are. My wife, child and I got on the waitlist and waited an hour and they sat us at a table in the driveway, which would be fine except it started dumping on us right after they handed us our menus. We asked to switch to a table that had a covering and they told us it would be another hour wait. I could understand if we had to wait another 15 minutes or so. However, in order to be seated at a dry table they said we had to go to the back of line. I understand the COVID world is a different place and I have compassion for the restaurants trying to stay open but this is a TERRIBLE policy. They will not be getting my business because of it. read more

Amazing!! We were in town for vacation and read some reviews to find Moonlight pizza. It was so good. We were sorry we didn't get extra for another meal. My favorite was the calzone. My family will be in town this summer and we will be back to get some more pizza from Moonlight! read more

We were excited to order pizza from Moonlight last week! This place was friendly had great service and an overall fun atmosphere! We ordered the harvest pizza and the pepperoni explosion - I honestly can't remember the name- but it had double pepperoni- and breadsticks- the crust was thick and fluffy- and we wished we would have had some honey to go with it- the pizza was definitely a step up from dominoes! I would love to try the calzones! I thought the harvest pizza was okay- it had a lot of olives that kind of overpowered the pizza- I would probably try something else next time. All in all this was a great experience and we will return next time and have a beer while we're there! read more

Truly delicious pizza, but very pricey. A large pizza and a salad was $43 which included a $5 tip. The salad was supposed to be large but barely fed 1 of the 3 of us. But, the delivery was fantastic, and we were grateful to have great pizza after a long drive! read more

Stopped in for lunch the day before Memorial Day with a party of 7 people. The food was great, the beer and Moscow mule (Moonlight Mule) were excellent. 35 minute wait, not a big deal, because this place is outfitted with an awesome waiting area, and bar for patrons waiting to eat their food. Decent selection of house beer, I tried the Cream Ale as well as an IPA that were both very good. The pizza was a 7.8/10. Crust was bubbly and crispy, sauce was bold, but the amount of tomato on their signature "full moon pizza," was overwhelming. All of the toppings went together perfectly, besides the mouthful of tomatoes in every bite. read more

Called in an order tonight to go and it was not good. First the order was not right... ordered 2 pizzas one with sausage, mushroom, black olive. It came as pepperoni, black olive. Second pizza was correct. I'm not picky at all, but as I carried the pizzas to the car they felt like the boxes were empty. They were as light as a feather. Passing through town and looked for a high rated place for lunch. Moonlight fit the bill. Seemed under staffed because we waited 10 minutes to get seated, 10 minutes before we were greeted, then at least 10 minutes before our actual waitress came to our table. Then we had to wait for 30 minutes before our food came. Not OK! Aside from all that, the food was Very Good! So our compliments to the kitchen! Ultimately the manager took care of us and the kitchen did a fabulous job. read more

Ok, we're giving this place 3 stars, but it was pretty close to a 2. Here's a breakdown of our review: Food - 4 stars Beer - 3 stars Service - 1 star I was seated at a table while my husband & son played 2 games of cornhole (very cool that they had that!!) & when they finally joined me I STILL hadn't been seen by a waitress to even order drinks. Our first waitress was really nice but took FOREVER to get to us. We ordered our drinks from her and waited another 15 minutes before they arrived. Warm. There was some confusion because we did change tables (we were sitting outside, and our first table was in the sun, so we moved to an empty table in the shade, which apparently was in a different waitresses' section). Our new waitress seemed really bored to be there... she wasn't friendly, never smiled, and seemed to be put out to have to be serving us now that we moved into her area. Our drinks were average... we've had a lot of craft beer in our time and this stuff was fine. We've had better, we've had worse. Our food, however, was great!!! I ordered a custom pizza which I thought was cooked perfectly. The crust was thin & crispy, and the ingredients were fresh & tasty. My husband had a small side salad, which he liked, and also ate some of my pizza (he didn't love that the crust was wheat). Our son ordered spicy wings and said they were AMAZING. I wish we could rate this place higher but the service just wasn't there for us! read more

I ordered a pizza to-go, so I can't comment on the atmosphere/service. However, the pizza itself was delicious! I got the Venus and added artichoke hearts and pesto (per the menu's recommendation). Very unique and much better than ordering from a chain. And, their to-go is pretty fast as well. read more
