We've been here at least 5+ times now and it's become one of our go-to spots anytime we're in Buena Vista. We somehow always order the exact same thing too, gin and tonics, margarita pizzas, and Bee Stings. We can hear after our engagement pics this time around :) We had a small issue during our visit today, but the staff and managers were super attentive and quick to fix it. They were genuinely apologetic and made sure we were taken care of, which honestly means a lot. Definitely not something that would affect us coming back. It has an expansive bar that features good selection of cocktails and beer. Decor is equal mix of modern and cozy vibes, which is reminiscent of restaurants in Denver. Good service throughout our meal. The server did overestimate how much an 7 year old would eat so we ended up with an entire 10 inch pizza left over. Oh well, it made good lunch the next day. This was our first meal in Buena Vista and we were relieved to find decent food after a long travel day! I got the chicken alfredo and asked for pesto on the side. The flavor was incredible, especially with the pesto! My one complaint is that the chicken was a bit dry, which I find to be a common problem when I order chicken dishes in restaurants. We also had a salad (I think it was the house greens) to share, and it was one of the best salads I've EVER tasted. The other members of my party enjoyed their pizzas as well. One person got the seasonal pizza, which I believe was a bourbon bbq brisket pizza, and that was VERY flavorful so they couldn't finish it in one sitting. The atmosphere inside was very homey with a modern twist. It was beautiful with a bar in the middle and an open kitchen to see all the dishes being prepared. It's a very spacious restaurant with lots of room to accommodate everyone. It's located in the heart of Buena Vista surrounding by cute little shops. I got the pig & fig pizza and my husband got the Margherita pizza. The pig & fig pizza was very good with a handful of arugula, figs, pickled onions and prosciutto. The pizza was a bit heavier so I only managed to eat half of it but it was good. The Margherita pizza was thinner but delicious. I got to steal a slice. The cooked cherry tomatoes and fresh basil was simple but sometimes simple is better. The crust was a little more burnt being a bit thinner, but overall it was a yummy pizza. We opted to try their dessert which included a cannoli dip and cheesecake with whipped cream and mixed berries. The cannoli dip was good but the cheesecake was delicious! The cannoli dip resembled chips and salsa with the filling in the center with the fried bits around it. The filling was pretty good but I couldn't eat too much of it. The cheesecake on the other hand was something I couldn't stop eating. The cheesecake was so soft and rich. Mixing it with the berries and whipped cream just enhanced the flavors even more making it a top tier dessert. What a great place with super friendly service. It's a cool semi-open kitchen concept at the back and smells delicious as soon as you walk in. We ordered two pizzas--the Pig & Fig on focaccia crust and the Pep Rally on the sourdough. The prosciutto, pickled onion, arugula and fig on the Pig & Fig is unique and delicious. Both crusts were fantastic with the perfect crispy crunch. Not a super extensive wine list but my spouse also had the Limoncello spritz to start the night and enjoyed it. Crave in Buena Vista definitely delivers when it comes to the food. We tried a few different pizzas, as well as the pasta and a meatball sub--everything was absolutely delicious. The menu has a lot of variety, and there's a solid drink selection too if that's your thing. That said, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed disinterested and disengaged throughout the meal. We were told we'd get refills on our Diet Cokes, but they never came, and there was little follow-up or friendliness in general. It didn't ruin the night, but it definitely took away from the overall experience. To be fair, the food came out in a timely manner and was genuinely fantastic. But when you're dining out, service matters just as much as the meal. If the staff had matched the quality of the kitchen, this could've easily been a 10/10 experience. We walked in and the host asked us to wait 10 min in order not to overwhelm her server and I appreciate staff looking out for each other. The food was pretty great, we got a margarita pizza with artichoke hearts added. Food came out promptly. Our server was kind and attentive but clearly busy so not a lot of chit chat but that's fine. Happy hour looked great and we were an hour early so I'd recommend going after 2pm for the deals! Menu was small but mighty. However, their oven had broken and there we were 45 minutes later, needing to get a refund and race home to eat out of fridge. The point to make is that the manager was highly cooperative in quickly refunding the credit card my wife had used for the to go order. Plus, he gave my wife a $75 gift certificate in apology. I almost NEVER see any business willing to take responsibility and do something to make up for an issue. This was the one in thousand businesses that was responsible. We got the salmon app, which I just like the smoked salmon you get from the store, which I like the smoked salmon from the store- so I guess that's okay.... Well I can't speak for the food because we never got seated. We had 10 people and were told they couldn't guarantee when they could seat us. We asked to split 6 and 4 and were told they only had one table for 6 and it had just been seated that table so again they couldn't "guarantee when we could get a table. A little girl sitting behind us told her parents that it was loud - from the voice of babes. The menu said the lemonade was homemade - I guess if you scoop powdered lemonade into water, that is considered lemonade. The antipasto salad is a large portion and was good, maybe overdressed. We split the Power Mix salad (kale-spinach, quinoa, carrots, egg, apricots, almonds with red-wine vinaigrette and it was to die for. Much tastier than the ingredients alone dictate!!
