We came for dinner and I'll start off by saying the service here by everyone is fantastic - friendly, attentive, and upbeat. The restaurant is located in a large, busy plaza where there is plenty of parking but on a weekend you may not find a close spot. The cool, modern interior is small yet they have maximized seating without it feeling cramped. There are also a few outdoor tables. I ordered the chicken katsu sando, which came with fries. I also got a lemonade. The sando had panko-coated chicken with katsu sauce, cabbage, Japanese mayo, and Thousand Island dressing. The chicken was tender and the perfect, thin layer of panko coating was deliciously crunchy. The bun (with goofy eyes imprinted) was soft yet sturdy to hold everything together. It was a great sandwich but I would have liked more katsu sauce rather than the meager drizzle that was on it. The accompanying fries were good but tasted like normal fries rather than truffle fries. My lemonade was excellent, tart but not overly so, and not sweet. The way a lemonade should be. The rest of the menu has various sushi rolls, rice bowls, curry, and wings. I went here with a family member of mine earlier in the week, and I was so impressed by the quality of the food, the service which was provided, and the overall vibe inside. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, which had great flavor, and just the right amount of spice. We also ordered a few different rolls, which were: Spicy Tuna Roll (10/10!!), RSM Roll (10/10), and the MOONO Roll (10/10) All three were so good in their own ways, and I would have a hard time ordering something else off of the menu because those were so bomb. For drinks, we ordered the Hot Sake, which was delicious and paired perfectly with our food, and I also ordered the large Sapporo. Oh, I love this place. You can really taste the quality of the fish they use, and the ramen is incredibly comforting -- warm, smooth, and creamy. Everything just tastes well-made and satisfying. I also love their bowls! The service is fast, attentive, and the staff are very friendly. They make sure you're taken care of without making you feel rushed. I was in the mood for ramen and decided to go here, based on their reviews. I placed an order for the chicken ramen online and drove there to pick it up once it was ready. There's ample parking there in a plaza. My first impression when I went inside was how nice and trendy it looked! I loved the decor! Full of pink colors, it was a very pleasant and cool environment. The minute I walked in and stood by the host/hostess stand, I was immediately greeted by a pleasant gentleman. I told him I was picking up, he went back, got my order, and gave it to me. I got home and ate it and it was delish! It was really good! I'm sure their pork ramen is really good too, I just don't eat pork. The chasu pork was nice and tender. Not bad: The hoseki scallop roll decent, but at $26, it should be much better. The hair: Fried in to one of the the karaage mushroom pieces. The rest: The spicy pork ramen was...OK? The pork bits were hard. The miso ramen broth wasn't very good. The noodles in both were whatever. I understand it was take out, but still. We paid over $90. My husband and I went here the other night! It has been on my list to go to since moving to Rsm. We finally made it and oh my gosh it is now one of my favorite restaurants. The food is so delicious. The flavors... everything are so unique... typically I use soy and a lot of wasabi on my rolls you don't even need that because of the flavor of each individual roll. Such unique flavors and the presentation was absolutely amazing. The cocktails that they make were so refreshing and light. The ambience and the service was exceptional. RSM does have some hidden gems! Moono is a small but finessed Japanese restaurant with different types of ramen, sushi, and katsu bowls. The place has a nice relaxing ambiance with warm colors that cover the entire place! It feels very comfortable sitting in their dining area. They have a smaller place to work with but their seating is designed well so they can maximize service and seating. I wasn't there during a busy time but the servers were attentive and fast with the food. I had the Thinly sliced beef ramen bowl. The thinly sliced beef went very well with the tonkatsu broth. Moono is the CUTEST date night spot! THE MOOD: I loved the look and vibe of Moono. The place has cozy indoor seating and a nice patio outside. This comes with 3 seared scallops, mentaiko creamy sauce (rich and delicious), massage, inure, nori, and truffle oil. If you love Ikura and seafood like I do, this a good dish to try. The flavors were rich, creamy, and bold. I loved every bite! -Moono Wings: These are hot honey lemon pepper wings. It comes with cabbage, katsu sauce, Japanese mayo, and thousand island dressing with a side of truffle fries. I decided to finally hit up, Moono, after driving by them so many times, as well as all the reviews I had been seeing. Moono, is in the RSM plaza next to The Stand. You can see from outside how cute and pretty the deco is. Even the small tables outside have lamps on them, and if needed, they can turn on the space heaters for you. It's a nice place for a date or for a GNO. They've got great ambiance. We had to wait about 40-45 minutes for a table of six when we arrived. Once seated though, we were immediately greeted and our drink orders taken. I was enjoying the decorative space, even the table setting. The saucers were pretty neat. I loved the colored old school glass cups, the glass filled with water, the dimmable table lamps which is cool to have for better lighting of photos. What we ordered; 1) Black garlic ramen - served with chashu pork in a tonkotsu broth. Came with an egg, green onion and ramen noodles. No veggies in this. This was just was alright for me. There was actually a somewhat off taste to it...I can't describe it other than something artificial or something that shouldn't have been there. The broth was also a bit on the salty side. 2) House ramen - hubby ordered this one. A tonkotsu broth, served with chashu pork, egg, bok choy, and a couple of other little things. He said it was alright. He wasn't raving or excited to share it. Usually when he thinks something is very good, he likes to have everyone taste it. 3) Chicken ramen - served in a tonkotsu broth, with chicken, egg and a few veggies. My daughter said it was bland and that the chicken was dry. I tried it and unfortunately agree. 4) Shoyu ramen - served in an umami broth with chashu pork, egg and some veggies. My other kid said she liked it, however, when I tasted her broth it was a bit too salty. 5) Poke bowl - a beautiful and generous bowl of poke, served with tuna and salmon, white rice, crab meat, and all the other fixings. My son liked the poke. The picture/video that I posted doesn't do the size any justice. It's a lot so you get your money's worth. 6) Chicken karaage for our starter. I personally felt the chicken was a little on the dry end while one of my kids, who prefers their chicken slightly drier, enjoyed it. The sauce that it's served with was good, especially when I squeezed the lemon into it. 7) Side of bok choy which was $2.50. Literally one piece of bok choy cut in half. Overall, I was disappointed in the food. The price point is a little more expensive which I gladly pay when the it's good. Two of the soups were salty, one was bland, one had a weird unnatural taste to it, the chicken was dry, and the tonkotsu broth really didn't taste like tonkotsu at all. I loved the decor, the table setting, and the service. The service was actually very good and that was the best thing all night. So for me and my family, it was just alright. Her sushi was good, but honestly, my curry dish was phenomenal -- rich, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, with tender beef and a great balance of spice and warmth. What a great anniversary dinner. It was such a great meal with amazing service. Heads up they don't have a full liquor license so their drinks are made with Soju or Sake but it got a big thumbs up from my wife! We started off with Moono Wings which were spicy and crisp. Back again with another review! Since my last review I've picked up takeout orders for multiple people, and went back to dine-in and try out some cocktails (several times). Moono ramen has dethroned Gu-Ramen in Laguna Beach; this is now the best ramen to be found in South OC! Moono makes takeout SO easy! First, they have a lot of variety to choose from, so there's something to tempt everyone. On top of this, they send you text messages keeping you looped in, which I so appreciate. When I've placed an order to be picked up at a specific time, they had everything ready and expertly packaged--which, by the way, I'm so in love with the graphic design choices here! From the drink coasters to the fringed umbrellas outside, there's just so many excellent details that stand out. Shoutout to Caleb who has taken care of us on so many of our visits here now! He's such an incredible asset, but honestly the whole team here is amazing, and seems to work really well together. I don't know the names of some of the gals I've seen here regularly, but there are two younger ladies that come to mind who provide incredible next-level service. The staff is amazing; I'm surprised I've yet to ever see the owner/head chef ... maybe they just keep him too busy, lol. For the food, I opted for the beef ramen (spicy), and their spicy yuzu wings are also a favorite! For drinks, my favorite is the Spirited Away, but they're all refreshing and tasty, so it's just about finding the one that appeals to you the most. We were looking for a place to grab dinner on Christmas Eve, as everywhere we normally go have closed early. I went onto Yelp to search open restaurants and found this place in doing so. We called and they were surprisingly opened until 9pm! Their menu had a variety of options, but here is what we ordered: Moono Wings: These are considered hot honey wings but they had zesty lemon on top and were not too hot. I really loved things wings! They were piping hot and perfectly crispy. Definitely the highlight of the entire meal, but pretty pricey! Shoyu Ramen: I really enjoyed my ramen! The egg was cooked perfectly and it came with all my favorite toppings: corn, bamboo, egg, and chashu. This was a bit more on the saltier side, but nevertheless very flavorful. I asked for no bean sprouts, but unfortunately they cannot su it out for any other toppings. Spicy Miso Ramen: This was flavorful, but again not too spicy. You can definitely add more spice to it, but I felt like it had a flavorful spice, not so much spice to make it hot. Spirited Away: Pretty good drink! This seemed like one of their more popular drinks, so we decided to give it a try. Did not disappoint. Sgroppino: I got recommended this drink from the waitress and I loved it! It was perfectly balanced and as someone who likes sweet drinks, it was right up my alley! Overall, I am extremely glad we came across this spot. I never knew it was here, but apparently they have been open for over a year now. The place was beautifully decorated! I believe her name was Monica, but she was exceptional. She was very attentive, we loved everything she recommended to us, and she checked in on us several times throughout our meal. Their Happy Hour menu states that they have happy hour until a certain time, but apparently they changed it and did not change the menu. She has a kind and friendly personality. Andres was my server throughout the meal and he was very helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu, giving me recommendations and the drink he made me was so delicious! His recommendations were spot on, and he even recommended dessert which I appreciated. During my time here, both Liberty and Andres made amazing conversation with me, well above their job responsibilities and had me laughing! First time ordering from Moono, we were excited as we usually go to marufuku for Ramen and Moono looked promising on yelp. We ordered takeout and the estimated time for pickup was 6:56. So I checked in around 7:05 and was told that it would be another 10-15 minutes. I walked around and came back around 7:15 and was told another 10-15 minutes. I was pretty frustrated at this point, but there was a line of people waiting for their takeout orders as well. I spoke to one of the staff, very friendly and he said it was just chaos tonight and they have too many takeout orders to fill. During our chat a couple came in around 7:17pm to eat and they were told the restaurant ran out of noodles so everything else was available but no Ramen, so they left. The staff member explained to me that they are a lean team and only have 3 in front of the house and 4 in the back, and right now they only had 2 because they were so slammed with orders. They apologized and were very nice. Around 7:30 my order was ready, I was disappointed that there was no comp or attempts to do something right by me or the people whose orders were more than 30 mins delayed, but maybe that's something out of their power, or they don't do it even in those circumstances. The only bright side of the experience picking up the food was the staff was friendly and the decor and atmosphere was great. We ordered the black garlic Ramen, house ramen and wings. The wings were juicy and flavorful and the best part of our meal. My wife had the house ramen and said it was fine, but the meat was dry and lacked flavor. I had the black garlic Ramen and the meat had similar issues to my wife and the flavor was a little off. I was bummed but maybe they had an off night and if I was in the area may try again in person and different items. read more

My boyfriend even commented on the music matching the vibe of the place. We ordered their wings, super crispy, juicy, hot, with amazing sauce. The sauce had a kick with a fresh lemon background. It was very unique and kick to the mouth with flavor. We did ask the bartender what he recommended on their ramen list, we went with his recommendations, the black garlic, ramen and the hot and sour Katsu Ramen. They were so different but both amazing, would definitely get them both again. We also had their old fashion and margarita. The old-fashioned was smoked in front of us, and the margarita was tart and fresh. Been dying to try out this place and finally had the chance to this weekend! Everything was great-- the ambiance, service, and food! Especially the chicken katsu burger, it was AMAZING. Their espresso martini was so good as well definitely coming back here again. read more
