First time here! The staff was very nice, super small restaurant tucked into the RSM shopping center. I ordered the chicken sandwich and truffle fries, super yummy perfectly crisped! My hubby ordered a poke bowl, they were out of avocado and he said it was just ok not very filling. Portions are smaller but just right, not greasy. I highly recommend if you want a meal where you can hold a conversation, not loud but very small.

We came for dinner and I'll start off by saying the service here by everyone is fantastic - friendly, attentive, and upbeat. The restaurant is located in a large, busy plaza where there is plenty of parking but on a weekend you may not find a close spot. The cool, modern interior is small yet they have maximized seating without it feeling cramped. There are also a few outdoor tables. I ordered the chicken katsu sando, which came with fries. I also got a lemonade. The sando had panko-coated chicken with katsu sauce, cabbage, Japanese mayo, and Thousand Island dressing. The chicken was tender and the perfect, thin layer of panko coating was deliciously crunchy. The bun (with goofy eyes imprinted) was soft yet sturdy to hold everything together. It was a great sandwich but I would have liked more katsu sauce rather than the meager drizzle that was on it. The accompanying fries were good but tasted like normal fries rather than truffle fries. My lemonade was excellent, tart but not overly so, and not sweet. The way a lemonade should be. The rest of the menu has various sushi rolls, rice bowls, curry, and wings. I also hear the lunch menu offers different choices.

Such an awesome place. Cool ambiance. Quiet vibes. Attentive service. High craft cocktails. We had the hamachi roll, dragon roll, and chicken katsu with curry. All was awesome. Shout out to our waitress who is awesome. I'm so glad we have hidden gems like this in our community.

I went here with a family member of mine earlier in the week, and I was so impressed by the quality of the food, the service which was provided, and the overall vibe inside. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, which had great flavor, and just the right amount of spice. We also ordered a few different rolls, which were: Spicy Tuna Roll (10/10!!), RSM Roll (10/10), and the MOONO Roll (10/10) All three were so good in their own ways, and I would have a hard time ordering something else off of the menu because those were so bomb. For drinks, we ordered the Hot Sake, which was delicious and paired perfectly with our food, and I also ordered the large Sapporo. If you need a new place that has delicious sushi, this is your sign to check out MOONO in Rancho Santa Margarita!

Oh, I love this place. You can really taste the quality of the fish they use, and the ramen is incredibly comforting -- warm, smooth, and creamy. Everything just tastes well-made and satisfying. I also love their bowls! The service is fast, attentive, and the staff are very friendly. They make sure you're taken care of without making you feel rushed. Another big plus for me is their dog-friendly outdoor seating. When we visited, they even offered a bowl of water for my dog, which I really appreciated. The ambiance is perfect. It has a warm, relaxed vibe that works for any occasion -- whether it's a date night, a family dinner, or just catching up with friends.

The interior is absolutely stunning! I loved the soft calming music that they were playing. It really feels super zen! As for the food, I ordered the Salmon Dynamite Roll and the MOONO roll. Highly recommend the first one! Great flavor and fish tastes fresh! The moono one was slightly too smoky for me. I also tried a bit of the ramen and it's really tasty! I love the noodles! The servers were really friendly and gave solid recommendations! I'd really like to come back and try their poke bowls!

Had the pleasure of dining here for my 5 year wedding anniversary! It's not everyday you find a restaurant that has it all. Great service, great food and great ambiance! The staff was helpful in making suggestions although I don't think you could order the wrong item considering how good everything was! Great value, high quality food, impressive presentation! Will be recommending friends and family to visit MOONO!

I do not like giving bad ratings (check my history), but this was for a birthday, and the food was just not good. So diappointed with our take out experience. Not to mention a hair fried into the mushroom karaage. The good: The interior of the restaurant is pretty cool. The mushroom karaage had a surprisingly nice texture. The chasu pork was nice and tender. Not bad: The hoseki scallop roll decent, but at $26, it should be much better. The hair: Fried in to one of the the karaage mushroom pieces. The rest: The spicy pork ramen was...OK? The pork bits were hard. The miso ramen broth wasn't very good. The noodles in both were whatever. I understand it was take out, but still. We paid over $90. NINETY DOLLARS. #regrets

Great ramen. I used to regularly go to Irvine, CA area for some good ramen since none in the area can really compare but this place opened up recently and while visiting I was very impressed. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was really really good. The service was great too, super friendly waiters. Really cool and vibrant spot to visit. Will definitely go back.

RSM does have some hidden gems! Moono is a small but finessed Japanese restaurant with different types of ramen, sushi, and katsu bowls. The place has a nice relaxing ambiance with warm colors that cover the entire place! It feels very comfortable sitting in their dining area. They have a smaller place to work with but their seating is designed well so they can maximize service and seating. I wasn't there during a busy time but the servers were attentive and fast with the food. I had the Thinly sliced beef ramen bowl. The thinly sliced beef went very well with the tonkatsu broth. I added some spice but overall it was a very solid bowl of ramen! My sister had the chicken katsu curry bowl. Overall a nice experience! Will return for another round!

Moono is the CUTEST date night spot! THE MOOD: I loved the look and vibe of Moono. The place has cozy indoor seating and a nice patio outside. As soon as you walk in, your eyes are drawn to the bar area in the back. There is blush mood lighting and the decor just makes the place feel like an intimate and romantic place. THE FOOD: For drinks, we got the Yuzu Lemonade and Galaxy. Both were really pretty and tasted super refreshing. The food was delicious! We got the following: -Crispy Nori Tuna Tartare: The nori is made crispy so that it's like a chip where you can scoop up the tuna tartare. Really unique and loved how crispy the nori was. -Spicy Pork Ramen: If you like spicy like me, this is the ramen to get! This comes with tonkotsu broth, chase pork (perfectly charred!), ground pork, egg, beansprout, kikurage, corn, and green onion. -CREAMY CAVIAR: Hands down, my favorite dish - I am still thinking about it. This comes with 3 seared scallops, mentaiko creamy sauce (rich and delicious), massage, inure, nori, and truffle oil. If you love Ikura and seafood like I do, this a good dish to try. The flavors were rich, creamy, and bold. I loved every bite! -Moono Wings: These are hot honey lemon pepper wings. The wings are pretty big and the glaze on the wings was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. -Chicken Katsu Burger + Truffle Fries: This burger has the cutest design on the buns (the eyes). It comes with cabbage, katsu sauce, Japanese mayo, and thousand island dressing with a side of truffle fries. Their chicken was juicy and crispy. -MOONO ROLL: This one was the most pleasing to see out of all the dishes that came out. It was super nicely presented and kind of brings the WOW factor, especially if you are out on a date. The sushi roll comes out in a smoked glass container and the waiter lifts up the glass cover to reveal the smoke and sushi. THE 'TUDE: Our waiter was so awesome and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave us such good recommendations such as the Creamy Caviar (now one of my favorite things to eat!) and Moono Roll and regularly came by to check on us to see if we were still doing okay. OVERALL: I loved the vibes, food, and good service, so I will definitely be coming back! **TIP: If you're not sure what to get on the menu, look for the items that have the eyes next to it. Those are the ones that are customer favorites.

We had a wonderful experience at this Japanese restaurant. The spicy chicken ramen was absolutely amazing--rich, flavorful, and perfectly spicy. It was so tasty and truly unique, unlike anything I've tried before. We also loved the crispy tuna tartare. It was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. My son enjoyed it so much that he ate a lot of it, which says everything! Great food, great flavors, and a place we would definitely come back to.

I decided to finally hit up, Moono, after driving by them so many times, as well as all the reviews I had been seeing. Moono, is in the RSM plaza next to The Stand. You can see from outside how cute and pretty the deco is. Even the small tables outside have lamps on them, and if needed, they can turn on the space heaters for you. It's a nice place for a date or for a GNO. They've got great ambiance. We had to wait about 40-45 minutes for a table of six when we arrived. Once seated though, we were immediately greeted and our drink orders taken. I was enjoying the decorative space, even the table setting. The saucers were pretty neat. I loved the colored old school glass cups, the glass filled with water, the dimmable table lamps which is cool to have for better lighting of photos. What we ordered; 1) Black garlic ramen - served with chashu pork in a tonkotsu broth. Came with an egg, green onion and ramen noodles. No veggies in this. This was just was alright for me. There was actually a somewhat off taste to it...I can't describe it other than something artificial or something that shouldn't have been there. The broth was also a bit on the salty side. 2) House ramen - hubby ordered this one. A tonkotsu broth, served with chashu pork, egg, bok choy, and a couple of other little things. He said it was alright. He wasn't raving or excited to share it. Usually when he thinks something is very good, he likes to have everyone taste it. 3) Chicken ramen - served in a tonkotsu broth, with chicken, egg and a few veggies. My daughter said it was bland and that the chicken was dry. I tried it and unfortunately agree. 4) Shoyu ramen - served in an umami broth with chashu pork, egg and some veggies. My other kid said she liked it, however, when I tasted her broth it was a bit too salty. 5) Poke bowl - a beautiful and generous bowl of poke, served with tuna and salmon, white rice, crab meat, and all the other fixings. My son liked the poke. The picture/video that I posted doesn't do the size any justice. It's a lot so you get your money's worth. 6) Chicken karaage for our starter. I personally felt the chicken was a little on the dry end while one of my kids, who prefers their chicken slightly drier, enjoyed it. The sauce that it's served with was good, especially when I squeezed the lemon into it. 7) Side of bok choy which was $2.50. Literally one piece of bok choy cut in half. Overall, I was disappointed in the food. The price point is a little more expensive which I gladly pay when the it's good. Two of the soups were salty, one was bland, one had a weird unnatural taste to it, the chicken was dry, and the tonkotsu broth really didn't taste like tonkotsu at all. I loved the decor, the table setting, and the service. The service was actually very good and that was the best thing all night. So for me and my family, it was just alright. Service saved the night. 2 out of 5 for us.

The rolls are on the larger side which is good but they match the price. Instead of emptying and properly cleaning the water jars, they appear to simply refill them with more water and give them to the next customer. Knowing how messy kids' hands can get, this just doesn't sit well with me. I think the sanitation could definitely be improved. Overall, the food has several things we really enjoy, especially the green onion pancake, Xiao Long Bao, and Dan Dan noodles. But the lack of service and some sanitation concerns keep it from being a perfect experience. The 3 starts is so they can look at it and fix the sanitation issue.

We visited the simpler Shang Shui Noodle House(Frank's dumplings and noodles) while the restaurant next door, Shang Shui Bistro(Frank's bistro Chinese cuisine) , focuses more on elevated Hunan and Cantonese dishes. Once we walked in, we could just find a seat and order through the QR code menu. It was convenient since we could take our time looking through the options. We ordered: 1. Roasted Duck Noodle Soup $19.99 2. House Special Fish Fillet Noodle Soup $15.99 3. Pork Knuckle Noodle Soup $16.99 Everything tasted pretty good! I ordered the signature fish fillet noodle soup, which was one of their recommended dishes. My husband thought the fish soup had the best flavor among the three dishes we tried. The portions were just right, and the prices were very reasonable. For the noodles, I would recommend choosing udon or ramen. My husband and our friend chose rice noodles, but they became too soft and broke apart easily when picking them up with chopsticks. After dinner, we stopped by Frank's bistro Chinese cuisine next door to take a look. The interior is much more upscale, and they also use a QR code menu. Most dishes are around $20 and up. We chatted with one of the staff members, who mentioned that they opened in August last year and focus on authentic Cantonese and Hunan cuisine. He was also proud to share that their dishes are freshly prepared, not the typical pre-made food you might find elsewhere. Will definitely come back to try the dishes at Shang Shui Bistro next time. Sharing this spot for anyone looking for Chinese noodles or authentic Chinese cuisine in the area! Frank's Dumplings & Noodles 20651 Lake Forest Dr STE A-102, Lake Forest, CA 92630

It's been awhile so I'm willing to give it another shot. Plenty of parking outside, the restaurant itself is really cute with tasteful decor. You order with a QR menu from the table. We ordered fish noodle soup, the 3 dumplings and soy sauce chicken with rice. Everything was pretty good! The fish noodle soup had a good fish profile in the soup, with a kick of white pepper which I liked. It tasted clean and healthy. The dumplings were really good. It definitely tasted like in house made dumplings. Much better quality than other restaurants in the area. The soy sauce chicken rice wasn't bad. But I thought the price was a little egregious. It should be max $15. All in all I'm glad we gave this "chain" another chance.
