The sushi here is so unbelievably fresh, you can tell it's high quality. The staff is so kind every time I come in and the ambience is perfect for a date night. Highly recommend!

The Sushi/Sashimi Combo Lunch Special was very good! I had the Sushi & Roll Combo consisting of tuna, salmon, shrimp, albacore, yellowtail. I selected the yam tempura roll. Each fish and roll item was fresh, served with miso soup. Service was nice and pleasant.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch today as we were in the mood for sushi. We ordered the lunch combo special, which had five types of sushi and one sushi roll. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and my wife ordered the Yam Tempura an avocado roll. The lunch was served with a bowl of miso soup. Our sushi was really excellent: super fresh, generous amounts of fish, well put together. A first-rate sushi meal and reasonably priced, too! My wife and I left full and happy. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance was pleasant with a nice Japanese-style decor. (FYI, parking is very easy near the restaurant.)

Each time I eat here, I leave wondering why I do not come more often. The fish is always fresh and they offer creative options. Edna did a wonderful job taking care of us. After she asked what type of fish we preferred (tuna, yellowtail), she offered some great recommendations (Baja Califprnia Roll, Cherry Blossom's Roll). We suggest saving room for dessert. If you do, ask for the dessert menu with pictures!

Nice spot! It's pretty spacious so there's a lot of seating. I do like how the booths are separated by a barrier so it's more private. There is a call button to get the waiters attention and we tried to use it but I'm not sure if it worked lol. There are so many sushi options and other appetizers and such too. The spicy garlic edamame was really good!!! The presentation of the sashimi was very pretty and elegant! I haven't seen that before! The crazy boy rolls were super delicious. I really enjoyed those! Everything tasted really good. The classic spicy tuna rolls were fat and filling. Would definitely come back here!

A sushi place with a nice fun setting and beautiful presentation of their food. It took me a while to decide what to order here as there were a lot of things I wanted to try but I had narrowed it down. To start off, I had ordered the assorted tempura with shrimp and an order of the oyster shooter. The tempura came out as expected and the most important part sometime is the little dipping sauce it comes with. As for the oyster shooter I did not try it but it was apparently good, but all I know is that it was presented in a very pretty way in a martini glass. For the main courses and rolls, I had ordered the Protein Roll, Scallop Sushi, the Sushi and Spicy Tuna Roll combination and the Beef Teriyaki Bento. I enjoyed the Spicy Tuna a lot as it's one of my favorite rolls in general, and the Sushi were all tasty and cut in good portions. The Beef Teriyaki was just slightly dry and hard but the sauce itself was tasty. Over all a fun experience and a good place to feed the sushi cravings.

A last minute sushi lunch with good friends at this place we've never been before. The service was good. The place was clean and not too loud for a Sunday afternoon, but was impressed by the variety of sushi selection. It is now one of my favorite places to go to when I'm visiting friends in MV.

Food was abundant and delicious. Love that they have lunch specials even on the weekends. My husband kept asking me "Why don't we come here more often?"

They have really food Lunch specials as well and their spicy edamame is really good! SERVICE: The staff is always friendly and helpful when we dine in or take out. AMBIANCE: Very nice and casual place. There is a good amount of seating and it always seems very clean.

Great neighborhood sushi spot! We recently dined in after a great takeout experience. Edna our server was great!! Loved the black dragon roll! The amount of eel you get on one roll is insane. It is one of their pricier rolls but so worth it for the quantity and quality. Terra offers a lot of fun sushi rolls and has sizzling plates. Will be back again!

We recently went to Terra Sushi and once again the sushi was delicious. The yellow tail hand roll was my favorite. It was simple but full of great fish.

This sushi restaurant probably has the freshest seafood in the area. The service is great and they are super friendly. They treat everyone like family there. It's a cute little place with lots of specialty rolls and sashimi. The dessert options are fun too. I've had the pistachio dessert and the tropical truffle. Too good to pass up!

My good friend and calabash sistah, SP, came here the other week and thought I would like Terra Sushi... 'And I did. We arrived just at opening, 5:00 PM, with only one other couple ahead of us. It was the right call because shortly after, the restaurant was packed. By 5:30 PM, there was a line of patrons waiting to be seated. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The salmon nigiri was buttery and melts in your mouth, while the saba nigiri was perfectly seasoned and balanced. The rolls are substantial and filling. The salmon skin cut roll was crispy and savory, the Mission Viejo roll was flavorful with just the right balance of fish and veggies. The Imperial roll was indulgent with its generous, fresh ingredients. The calamari roll was something different, it was lightly fried, crispy, and delicious. Each section of roll was served on its own little plate. However, the one roll I was most disappointed in was the spider roll, which was loaded with artificial crab (i.e., filler) rather than fresh soft-shell crab, and didn't live up to expectations. - See uploaded photos. Hot Japanese Green Tea x2 ($5) Salmon Sushi ($8.55) Saba Sushi ($8.05) Salmon Skin Roll ($9.50) Calamari Roll ($17.55) Imperial Roll ($20.25) Mission Viejo Roll ($19.55) Spider Roll ($18.05) Grand total w/tip: $136 Value-wise, it felt a bit steep, especially at $4 per piece for nigiri. I hesitated but decided to try it anyway, ordering the salmon and mackerel - my go-to favorites, and they were good. I usually avoid rolls since they're often just dressed-up versions of a California roll filled with artificial crab. Terra Sushi seems to place more emphasis on their specialty rolls than on traditional nigiri. To be clear, the nigiri wasn't bad, it just felt pricey for what it was. It was slightly chilly that evening, so we both ordered hot tea. I thought about trying the sake flight, but tea sounded better and was the perfect choice to help us warm up. The service from Edna was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. (Though there was a time after we received our food that our server went MIA.) Be sure to ask for extra napkins. There are no napkin dispensers on the tables and you start out with one single piece. Food comes out promptly, and the experience flows smoothly from start to finish. Overall, Terra Sushi delivers tasty sushi, attentive service, and a comfortable dining experience. If you're in the area and craving sushi, whether nigiri or creative rolls, Terra Sushi is definitely worth a visit. While most rolls are substantial and well-made, I would skip the Spider roll next time. - Big Aloha! Food: 4 Ambiance: 4 Service: 5 Value: 3

FYI -- no photos because we were busy with a cranky toddler. First, the service was genuinely great. The sweetest lady helped us with the menu and served our food, and we really appreciated her kindness. We were also given complimentary edamame, which was thoughtful, although it was bland, dry, and cold -- almost like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. Since it was complimentary, we didn't think too much of it. For the mains, we ordered the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki bento specials. Unfortunately, both proteins were sliced extremely thin. The chicken especially had a jerky-like texture, and both the chicken and beef lacked flavor. After reading other reviews, they had similar experience. The teriyaki sauce itself was also pretty bland. The tempura was okay, but the tempura dipping sauce tasted watered down and lacked the usual savory depth you'd expect. The one standout was the roll topped with salmon and avocado with spicy tuna inside. It was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and well-balanced. Based on this, I honestly think rolls are what they do best. I really hope they improve the preparation and seasoning of the chicken and beef because it was a major turnoff -- and this is coming from someone who eats pretty much everything. It's hard to justify paying around $22 for a bento when the main protein feels flavorless and insubstantial. With so many good Japanese resto in Lake Forest, I would skip this until the proteins are fixed.

I generally get simple nigiri and fresh sushi rolls. I tried the Only You and Crunch Mania Roll alongside some fresh sushi like the Ama Ebi, Uni, Salmon belly, and Hotate sushi. WOW wow wow. Each and every piece was divine. And I tried to savor every bite. I love when restaurants give you the Ama Ebi fried head, this place takes the cake for me. Wasn't too greasy at all! I thought presentation for delivery wasn't too bad and the size of the cut for the rolls weren't messy and uneven. I really felt like a Bento box. Got the shrimp temp. with 3 vegs, miso soup, salad and rice. Ordered hot tea (tea bag in cup with "free refills of WATER" if needed - lol). Found out I'm not crazy about Oolong tea. Shrimp were very anemic, skinny, much more Tempura batter than shrimp. Veggies were more generous in the slices. Served with the usual dipping broth. This was a first and hard to believe: The dipping sauce was refrig. cold - terrible when dipping a hot shrimp in a cold liquid. When I flagged her down, she asked if I wanted it microwaved. I did. Eaten this a 1000 times and NEVER has been served with frigid broth. She acted as though this was their norm. When I took a bite of the just lettuce salad - the dressing !! was loaded with wasabi; again - another anomaly for me. I don't like wasabi. I asked her if it had wasabi in the dressing and she didn't know nor offer an alternative. A few pickled cuke slices were included with the dinner and they were fine and fresh-looking. Rice, of course. Miso soup was overly salty with 2-3 miniscule cubes of tofu & a couple small pieces of sea weed. Bathroom was clean. I won't return, sadly. Expected better for $23 - just not up to par.

The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. The vibe inside was authentic feeling Japanese style, smallish with several tables and sushi bar seating. My chicken oyakodon was a bowl of cozy comfort to me. It was topped with two slices of yellow pickled daikon. I'm sure it was homemade daikon, not like what you get in a jar from Tokyo Central. We were served their delicious miso soup as a starter. My sister ordered beef teriyaki and tempura. She said it was good. The restaurant started filling up as we ate our meal. A good sign of good authentic Japanese is when you see a lot of Japanese/Asians filling up the place, especially older people (haha, like me), because you know they know well prepared authentic. And that's the crowd that was coming in. Located in a busy center with limited parking, it must get crazy busy later in the evening because the sign outside the entrance says where to form the line.
