No reservations needed unless you have a large party. I've been here twice and both times there were plenty of seats. Even with limited customers, service was extremely slow. We waited over ten minutes just to have our order taken. Then waited a while for soup to come. Food? Geez it must have been 15 minutes to get that. And that was one person's order. Then wait for the next person. Then wait for the next person. Had to ask again for waters. Food was good I guess. Nice portions. Enough to be full. For the price it's worth it. My wife and I stopped here for lunch today as we were in the mood for sushi. We ordered the lunch combo special, which had five types of sushi and one sushi roll. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and my wife ordered the Yam Tempura an avocado roll. The lunch was served with a bowl of miso soup. Our sushi was really excellent: super fresh, generous amounts of fish, well put together. A first-rate sushi meal and reasonably priced, too! My wife and I left full and happy. Next up was shrimp tempura hand roll with plenty of crabmeat and 2 fresh and hot shrimp tempura inside - not like the other places with cold tempura made earlier in the day and only give you 1. Next was the cucumber roll and rainbow roll followed by eel skin hand roll. Generous amount of fresh ginger and mini sliced cucumber salad too. A sushi place with a nice fun setting and beautiful presentation of their food. It took me a while to decide what to order here as there were a lot of things I wanted to try but I had narrowed it down. To start off, I had ordered the assorted tempura with shrimp and an order of the oyster shooter. The tempura came out as expected and the most important part sometime is the little dipping sauce it comes with. As for the oyster shooter I did not try it but it was apparently good, but all I know is that it was presented in a very pretty way in a martini glass. For the main courses and rolls, I had ordered the Protein Roll, Scallop Sushi, the Sushi and Spicy Tuna Roll combination and the Beef Teriyaki Bento. I enjoyed the Spicy Tuna a lot as it's one of my favorite rolls in general, and the Sushi were all tasty and cut in good portions. The Beef Teriyaki was just slightly dry and hard but the sauce itself was tasty. Over all a fun experience and a good place to feed the sushi cravings. read more

This is a very reliable sushi spot in the area for consistently solid rolls. As a caveat, I wouldn't say the flavors are anything out of this world or particularly unique compared to some other sushi spots, nor is it especially "authentic" (the large specialty roll menu makes that pretty clear). That said, I'm not complaining: as a sushi spot in America that caters to Western tastes, this place hits. Some of my favorite rolls are the Bella, the Mission Viejo, and the Seared Tuna roll. One minor area for improvement is to-go orders. They seem to get very busy, and there could be better predictability around wait times. The order processing for peak hours (6pm on a Saturday) was about an hour, but on my most recent visit, my pickup order was delayed by about 30 minutes, pushing it to 90 minutes. It was frustrating for me, but I think it can be even more frustrating for Door Dash drivers since they're paid per delivery and long, unexpected waits can throw off their entire queue and earnings for the night. I do want to commend their customer service, though. They have always been great dining in, but this time, they could tell people were frustrated and genuinely tried to reshuffle orders and adjust priorities. Overall, improving order flow and wait-time forecasting would make a noticeable difference! read more

My good friend and calabash sistah, SP, came here the other week and thought I would like Terra Sushi... 'And I did. We arrived just at opening, 5:00 PM, with only one other couple ahead of us. It was the right call because shortly after, the restaurant was packed. By 5:30 PM, there was a line of patrons waiting to be seated. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The salmon nigiri was buttery and melts in your mouth, while the saba nigiri was perfectly seasoned and balanced. The rolls are substantial and filling. The salmon skin cut roll was crispy and savory, the Mission Viejo roll was flavorful with just the right balance of fish and veggies. The Imperial roll was indulgent with its generous, fresh ingredients. The calamari roll was something different, it was lightly fried, crispy, and delicious. Each section of roll was served on its own little plate. However, the one roll I was most disappointed in was the spider roll, which was loaded with artificial crab (i.e., filler) rather than fresh soft-shell crab, and didn't live up to expectations. - See uploaded photos. Terra Sushi seems to place more emphasis on their specialty rolls than on traditional nigiri. To be clear, the nigiri wasn't bad, it just felt pricey for what it was. It was slightly chilly that evening, so we both ordered hot tea. I thought about trying the sake flight, but tea sounded better and was the perfect choice to help us warm up. The service from Edna was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. (Though there was a time after we received our food that our server went MIA.) Be sure to ask for extra napkins. There are no napkin dispensers on the tables and you start out with one single piece. Food comes out promptly, and the experience flows smoothly from start to finish. Overall, Terra Sushi delivers tasty sushi, attentive service, and a comfortable dining experience. The dishes came out quickly, beautifully presented, and everything tasted fresh. I also really appreciated how many different options they had on the menu--it made it fun to try a variety. One thing I'd love to see added in the future is takoyaki, which would be an amazing complement to all the great dishes they already offer. Caterpillar Roll - this one I convinced the kids was a California roll with Unagi on top, which they like. The pieces came with a small dollop of spicy mayo on top. The moment we walked in, we were ignored by all staff, and mind you we had an elderly person with us, the woman behind a host table was on the phone, she looked at us and continued to ignore our party. Only until after I loudly asked "Can we get a table?" We were finally acknowledged by servers in the back. On top of that, food took a long time to arrive, and place was not busy at that time. Our waitress was a bit on the serious side (and void of pleasantries) but she was efficient. We ordered the Mexican Roll, the Baja Roll and the Hawaiian Roll. They all arrived together, and in short order. All of our rolls were tasty. Our bill was reasonable at approximately $64 for three rolls and one large Sapporo beer. Their Rock n Roll sushi is what I keep going back for. It is so delicious and filling. I need to order it just for myself, it's too good to share.
