The Millhouse is absolutely gorgeous, with a modern look and plenty of seating inside as well as a large outdoor area with shade option for the warmer weather. It is stroller and kid friendly which is also nice. 3 stars also because I like their beer (I wish they did flights though) and their pickle pizza. Minus two stars because of the flies, food, and long lines. There are SO many flies inside that I'm constantly waving the flies away from my food and my baby in the stroller and because I was not very impressed by their food (other than their unique pickle pizza). During my first out of three visits, I ordered the pork sando which had decent taste but was super soggy. The bottom of the sandwich was falling apart from how wet the sandwich was and it also ended up making half my fries pretty soggy too. The second out of three visits, I ordered the pork Belly Banh Mi was alright but for the price, I was expecting a little more pork belly versus bread. The third visit, I ordered the pickle pizza and finally enjoyed something from their kitchen. Finally, the line can be really long inside and outside. read more

This place is a vibe! We came on a sunny afternoon and was so impressed with everything! Such a cute seating area inside and out. Ordering food and drinks was easy and simple. Their staff is very efficient and had our order in quickly. After ordering they explain to connect our buzzer to the table in order for them to find us. How inventive. Their portions we're definitely worth the price. We had a party of 4, and all were stuffed from what we ordered. They only serve 1 size of their beer--we were impressed with their quantity. I have been meaning to try this place out, and I was finally in the area last night and tried it. The location is huge, and very busy. There is a LOT of outdoor seating, which in the right weather is probably a really nice place to hang out. When you come inside you go to the counter and order your drinks and food, and then you go find your own table. You take your drinks with you and they bring your food to the table when it's done. They have a lot of large tables, which would be good for big parties. As far as the food and drinks, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting it to be really good, so my expectations were really high. For drinks, I went with several sample size drinks. We got 3 of their ciders, and 4 of there west coast IPA beers. The beers weren't bad, but they were all kind of similar in taste. None of them stood out as amazing. The ciders were good if you like cider. For the food, we ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and a chicken sandwich. Again, I was expecting the pizza to be really good, based on the pizzas I saw being delivered to tables when I walked in. They looked to be thin and Crispy, with a little bit of char on the crust. What it ended up being, was thin and soft. No crisp to the crust at all. I also didn't care much for the sausage they use. I wish I would have just got pepperoni. The chicken sandwich, was good, not great, but good. It did have a nice big piece of chicken on it, the bun was soft. I added cheese and bacon to it, which definitely made it better, but made it much more expensive. Im not a big fry person, but the fries were actually really good. They were crispy and seasoned well. The food is off the hook. Burgers are excellent even their pickle jalapeño pizza is something that I just savor with every bite. To be honest with you I have never had a bad meal here. The asparagus was absolutely incredible. It's hard to describe because there's like a cheesy sauce that's it sits on that has a touch of sweetness my wife loved it. And then it has this oily spicy not as in hot but spicy is in lots of flavor part of it that I loved. I love grilled asparagus. This was the best I've ever eaten. Kayla was very courteous and helpful with us in choosing our catered menu and reserving the space for our special event. The food was fantastic! Better than we expected. We came, spur of the moment on Sunday, and although the place was hopping, we were able to find a table in the shade under the overhang outside. Yes, you order at the counter and then are given a pager to know when your order is ready. I know people have previously complained about this, the service, and getting food delivered during their opening weeks. It appears those issues have been addressed with the magnetic table trackers. When our order was ready, our pager vibrated on the table and our friendly server quickly appeared with our yummy food...lickety-split. Hubster tried their key lime pie of the beholder sour, which he is still talking about. The soda I tried comes from Maine, which is a nice change of pace. We shared a pepperoni pizza and their peach burrata salad. The pizza was cheesy, lots of pepperoni and delish. The burrata salad is out of this world! I'm ordering this next time and not sharing!!! Moonraker's staff is friendly and professional and we loved seeing all of the fur babies who were welcomed as well as the kids having a good time. If you are not into either, there is an adult only area with ample seating. My one recommendation would be to add fans to the overhangs in the outdoor seating areas, to help with airflow and to keep any flies away. It was an extremely limited menu & you have to order at a podium & wait by the podium--very odd. I got a croissant & they handed me a plain Costco croissant for $5.50! For $0.49 more cents I could've bought the whole pack, lol. There were ladies dragging the dining chairs into the bathroom stalls--YUCK! I have no idea what was going on with that. My friend and I stopped here twice on our way to and from Lake Tahoe. On the way up we stopped for coffee and both liked our coffees. My friend got the regular drip coffee, and I got the Aztec mocha. They described the mocha as less sweet than the traditional mocha with some cinnamon. I didn't really taste much cinnamon, and it was still a sweet drink, but it wasn't overly sweet. I wouldn't recommend or not recommend it. On the way back we stopped for beer and fries. My friend enjoyed her fries and got the Puzzle Dust. She enjoyed it even though she normally doesn't like PAs or IPAs. I asked for a flight, but they don't do flights there. It was really nice of them to allow us to try as many as we wanted before committing to a full pint. Normally I like IPAs, particularly hazys, so I was really excited that they had a whole "Hazy Beer" section on their draft menu. I tried Puzzle Dust, Yojo, and the Great Coneholio, but I didn't like any of those. I also usually like sours and tried the Wave Theory. It was good, but not what I was in the mood for. In the past I've liked some blonde ales, so I tried the Miss Behave and Miss Conduct, and I liked both of them. they were light and refreshing. I ended up getting a pint of the Miss Behave, which was perfect for a hot afternoon. Overall I recommend this place. It's a cool space with lots of seating. The parking lot was pretty full, so there are plenty of people that really enjoy it. I have BIG issues with the restroom situation. There are no separate facilities for women and men! To get to what signage indicates is the women's side, you have to go through a messy communal washing station, which is filled with men and children. I just needed to blow my nose and look in the mirror, but I'm not doing that with men there! There is no door to the women's stall area, just a corner and no private mirrors. There is no door to the washing area, either, so you can see right into it from the dining area. I'm so totally freaked out I can't believe this is in El Dorado County. Even The Park Lounge in Sacramento wasn't this bad. No way would I ever be able to use the restroom. Also, something is wrong with their dishwashers, there is a disgusting white film on the inside of the acrylic glasses. I've been there twice now, first and last. read more

Do I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY!! This place is so nice and HUGE! They even have a large outdoor space and lots of parking. We had a wedding reception in a large event space there this weekend and it was cute and it has its own bar. When we got there to set up Karissa met us and helped us with whatever we needed and was patient and helped us get more tables and chairs as needed. Oh yes let me tell you about the dream team! This trio is nothing short of amazing! Karissa Ally and Motts are so great they helped keep everything running smoothly!! We literally couldn't have asked for a better time!
