Well, we didn't get to eat any of the food because we weren't served.Let me explain.... This is an indoor restaurant with an artificial boat "moored" outside the restaurant. We were 5 people (one of them an infant). We had reserved this specifically through the management of the entire resort and requested to be seated on the boat. This is all we wanted. They tried to change things on us and sit us in the back area which we told them no. I explained the situation to the manager "Nate" who told us that there was a zero tolerance policy for "parties larger than 4". The problem is this wasn't communicated to us beforehand We also had to pay $25 for our reservation as required by opentable. We were promised a table on the boat. Then things changed. Although there were at least 5 open tables on the boat and the restaurant NOT busy, Nate said there was nothing he could do. I explained this was booked through the hotel management (who are amazing by the way) and he just didn't seem to care. I feel like the staff and management of Moor specifically need much better training in customer service skills, management, and catering to the needs of families without being so rigid. read more

The food here was very delicious, and the service was also incredible! My friends and I were able to eat on the boat part of the restaurant without any extra charge, and we were so excited! The decor was fantastic and I came here right after a five hour flight, so this was a very warm welcome to the resort!! I had really high expectations for this restaurant. Maybe that's what went wrong. Comparing this restaurant to the steakhouse at the gaylord palms this restaurant does not even come close to comparison. The only thing this restaurant has going for them is the ambiance and decoration. Looks beautiful like if you are indeed in a sailboat. The rest was awful. The food was overcooked and expensive. Not a great menu and options. AND I got sick and it ruined my vacation at the gaylord because I was stuck next to a bathroom the entire next day. I will not be coming back here. My group and I came to Moor while staying at the Gaylord for a convention. We had a reservation, and noticed they were turning people away that didn't have one, so I suggest having one to be safe. Our server was extremely friendly and had great recommendations for us. We were sat outside on the water, which was so nice. I can see it being very romantic and relaxing if you are eating later in the day as the sun goes down. We didn't get appetizers but you do receive complimentary bread. It is pretzel inspired and served in a miniature cast iron. The butter to go with it has a citrus zest flavor, which pairs well with the salty bread. For food, our group of 8 got a bit of everything. I had the snapper, which you thankfully can order without the head if you're not into that kind of thing. I am not super experienced with seafood, and ate more of it than I thought I would. You could taste how fresh it was and well cooked. Others around me ordered tuna, grouper, and pasta dishes, which there were also minimal complaints. Three of us ordered the grouper, and the portion sizes were vastly different for some. The server offered to get more fish for the one that was shorted. Someone also got the seafood stew (not pictured) and the only complaint was that although seasoned well - the lobster was overcooked. All other seafood was great. For drinks, I got the empress which was a perfect amount of mixer and liquor, and very beautiful. Someone in our group got the smoked old fashion, which is smoked table side and was cool to see. For after dinner, various coffee options are available along with desserts. You can order all the desserts for the table to share, but we decided on just a few cakes. I chose the cheesecake, which came with honey various ways. The cheesecake itself was smooth, with a blackberry center along with the honey accompaniments. Overall, we had a great experience at Moor. When it came to the end of our meal, our waitress was more than accommodating, allowing us to separate the checks and also separate the drinks from the food. Great ambiance and setting in an actual boat! Our servers were very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious but my daughter did order the corn bisque which had a distinct herb that she didn't find palatable. They were so kind and removed it from our bill without us having to ask. An absolute gem of a restaurant in the Gaylord Palms Resort, MOOR delivered on all aspects of what makes the dining experience special. To start, the service was wonderful. Our waiter was very warm and attentive, getting our waters filled quickly and providing an insight on the most ordered dishes on the menu. For a starter we got the calamari and it so tasty and a bit spicy. The entree I ordered, the Pan Seared Grouper, was absolutely stunning, and the risotto underneath the fish paired perfectly. The shrimp pappardelle was also so interesting to try as well. You can tell the pasta is homemade, not saturated in oil, and made with super quality ingredients because that sauce was poppin! Let's not forgot to mention the ambiance and beauty of the restaurant itself. If you get lucky, you'll be seated on the actual sailboat for dinner. HOW COOL!! Pretty good experience. Service was good, atmosphere was like being in Key West (if key west was air conditioned ), and the food was pretty good. Everyone was happy with their order. My wife and I were in town celebrating her birthday. We had dinner and dessert at Moor and thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived a little early and began with a tasty cocktail while we waited for our reservation time. The cocktails were delicious. We were notified a few minutes later that the table was ready. The hostess guided to the table which was so cool. We sat at the bow of the boat and had a great view of water and the atrium in the distance. What a neat setting. Luu was our waiter and he could not have been nicer or better to us. He was another person who made our stay at the Gaylord such a treat. My wife had a steak with a Demi glaze and a lovely sweet potato pureè. Presentation was very nice and the flavors were top notch. I had the seafood stew and could not finish it. The size was appropriate or so it seemed! As I tried to eat it all, I realized it was a lost cause. lol. There was so much goodness in that bowl. The oysters, scallops, shrimp, and others were so tasty. The gravy, if you will, was a lovely lobster based tomato sauce it seemed. Flavors were rich and flavorful. Too much food for me but gosh did I enjoy trying to eat it all. Dessert was a key lime pie, nice but not quite as tart as I prefer. I'd say I'm a key lime pie snob but this one was good. To begin with the hostess was less than welcoming. I decided to over look the attitude and dirty look I received and give the place the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I wrong to do that. The service was not exactly prompt but I thought maybe the server is busy. The restaurant wasn't that busy though. My friend and I decided to split a half dozen raw oysters as an appetizer. When they were brought to our table we were astonished by the extremely small size of them, especially for the price we paid. My friend got to the last oyster and as it was going down her esophagus to her stomach the taste kicked in. She had a look of terror on her face and started gagging while her complexion began turning a little green. She ended up vomiting in her napkin, with good reason. I decided to take a little sniff of the shell and noted a strong undertone of what can only be described as poop. It smelled as if someone had taken a number 2, failed to wipe well and stuffed the oyster in their crack and went for a long 3 hour walk in 80 degree weather. When the server (we will call her J) came to check on us I asked her to smell the one shell and told her to let the chef know so they could check the rest of their product. She proclaimed she didn't smell anything while having a look of what can only be described as getting a whiff of poop while walking down the street. The rest of them meal was okay but we were already scarred from the stool oyster experience. The service became sparse after pointing out the dirty oyster. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Service was slow even though we had a server and someone she was training waiting on us. What we ordered: - bread service - kind of dough but butter was house made - tuna tartare - tuna wasn't very flavorful but the pineapple was an interesting flavor and texture to add - braised short rib agnolotti - didn't get braised short rib flavors but there was a lot going on on the plate with the mushrooms, the prosciutto and the gremolata that it could have been overpowered - blackened grouper - good blackened flavor and the grouper was nicely cooked. Risotto was somewhat grainy Not sure I'd go again especially as none of the food really wowed us, which is rough considering the price point. But if you're staying onsite, be aware that all the restaurants have weird varying hours of operation. read more

We went early but were seated inside. :( The decor is OK inside but should have asked to set out in the atrium. Our server was adequate but not overly helpful or friendly. We had cocktails and the Southern Sampler which I would highly recommend. The pimento cheese had just the right bite, the seafood salad was excellent, the pickles were superb, and the bites of the duck confit were delicious. The ground mustard was perfect with the ham. We stayed at the resort and ate here our first evening, a Thursday. (many of the other restaurants on property were closed, and we didnt feel like venturing out). The restaurant itself is neat in that there are tables atop a large boat and deck structure that sits inside the glass enclosed "greenhouse" of the Gaylord Palms resort. While the theming could have been a LOT stronger (We are less than 10 mins from a lot of experts in theming and imagination!), it was a fun touch. The service left a lot to be desired, again potentially due to how spoiled we are at the "Mouse" run establishments, but given this resort relies on guests who are coming to visit that property, one would think they'd get their service up at least a little closer to par (cannot expect magic here, but no interaction aside from taking the order, no attn to the child at the table, etc left a lot to be desired). Lastly to the food. Eh. Very eh all around, and for the price, extra Eh. We got the Citrus Cured Tuna Crudo - which they should rename the Soy sauce drowned Tuna. Crudo's are meant to be light and let the flavor of the fish shine thru - all we could taste was soy sauce. Kiddo and I split the double cut duroc pork chop. The menu read beautifully and server checked with us to see if medium rare would be ok. We shared that we actually prefer our pork this way, and even slightly more rare if the chef allowed. Our pork showed up medium, at best. (why did the server have a whole discussion with us, if the pork was just going to show up over cooked anyhow!?) Hubs had the grouper, which was "fine" in his opinion and the risotto served alongside was poorly made (grainy by his taste, and unappetizing from my view) - i did not try it after the underwhelm of the rest of the table. Price wise, you could do a LOT better for this kind of $$$, that said, it is Orlando, you could do a lot worse. We won't be back. If you want a little less fancy, but still on property and good - check out the sports bar - their bar food is pretty good! read more

I was invited to to to MOOR by my friend. I was impressed by the ambiance (a huge boat is part of the entrance). I would say this is a casual, business casual type of place. It seems to service intimate & business on the inside, then casual/business casual on the outside of the place. It prides itself on sourcing locally for their food products. The food: I must say, the food overall was underwhelming, especially at the very pricey price points. The table ordered the Rock Shrimp & Calamari, which was pretty good (possibly the only good thing we tried). I ordered the Tuna Tartare. It was very underwhelming & flavorless. I also thought the pineapple addition actually did a lot to take the flavor away. I squeezed a lemon wedge to save the dish. For the entrées, most of us ordered the Blackened Florida Grouper, the Florida Seafood Stew, and one Porkchop. The person at my table who ordered the porkchop claimed it was good but did not finish it. My friend and I ordered the Blackened Florida Grouper. We were not impressed & it was also flavorless. We had to salt/lemon it up for more taste. I think the other people at our table seemed to like the Florida Seafood Stew. For the desserts, we decided to share the Key Lime Pie and the Gaylord Palms Honey Cheesecake Mousse. Neither were impressive. The Key Lime Pie tasted NOTHING like lime, which is odd because Florida is known for their Key Lime Pies. The Honey Cheesecake Mousse had an interesting taste to it that I did not understand. The cookie part of the cheesecake tasted old. The drinks: I ordered the Empress of the Sea & was also not impressed. It had some potential, but some flavors did not pair well. I ordered the Sauvion Blanc (New Zealand) to pair with the Blackened Grouper & that was delicious. I can not recall what other people at my table ordered. Overall, I will likely not return unless they improve the flavoring of their food & make better cocktails. Our service was excellent! Plenty of seating with various options, such as sitting on the boat or partially inside, tucked away for a more intimate setting. We did find it to be a little cold, so you might want to bring a light jacket. For food, we started with the Florida salad and she crab soup. The salad was perfectly proportioned, and the bacon and candied pecans were excellent on top. The she crab soup had great texture and taste. I would highly recommend it. For our main entrée, we had the grouper. It didn't mention any spice, but it resembled a spice from New Orleans, which we invited. The fish was mildly overcooked but a generous portion and tasted great. We were surprised with an almond gluten-free cheesecake with berry sauce on the side for dessert. It was phenomenal. I didn't see the bill as it was a group dinner but I wonder if they chose for me the least or most expensive option. Where I was less than impressed was with the food. Appetizers were pretty good - calamari had a foot taste (maybe a bit salty) and the pork belly was quite tasty. However, I thought that overall, the menu was rather limited and extremely fish heavy. I wanted something smaller so I had soup and a salad with chicken...it was all just ok. The salad was light on dressing and the added chicken was somehow tough. Nothing was super flavorful. I would say that in our group it was somewhat hit or miss on the food. We where Here for a convention, we made dinner reservations ahead of time for 8 pm, we were running 5 mins behind We called to inform them they said it was ok. When we arrived there was a huge line to check in, there were 4 hostess assisting ONE COUPLE !!, the line kept getting longer and longer, one couple in front of us Left very upset because they had patio seating, but it was raining and had to be closed down ! We would not get a table till after 9 pm We asked to speak to the manager, which she also told us to wait a few mins She would find us A table, she shortly sat us on a table for 5, and we were only 2, but we got seated. The menu was quite small not many Options, it's a seafood restaurant and they had No Salmon or Sea-bass, it was quite Disappointing I have to say, we did not get to eat Dinner until after 9:30 our drinks took forever to come, and for a $16.00 glass of wine it was a small pour. The ambience was nice The indoor deck was A sail boat And inside was nice and elegant, but very poor service. Considering it is the only" Nice Restaurant at the Gaylord Palms Resort " The others Are snack bars or a Buffet Which that has its own story. The entrance of this place is beautiful, the whole restaurant looks like a boat and it glows at night. The decor is very sea oriented of course and quite minimalist. Would be a great place for a romantic date if you could even hear your partner over the other loud guests, the more they drank the louder they became. Got to a point where I needed to almost scream to talk to my companions at the table. As for food, the Grilled Cobia was a interesting plate, the kimchi gave it a nice touch. My wife asked for the Grouper and it was delicious, the fish was soft yet firm enough not to crumble. Plates were average sized with no bread or anything to start with.
