Keegan, my service advisor, was outstanding. He communicated with me constantly, kept me informed, and provided regular updates throughout the entire process. I never had to wonder what was happening with my truck. What impressed me even more was how I was treated before the service department had even opened. I was stranded at the dealership on a Sunday, waiting for the tow truck to arrive with my truck. A gentleman working that day--I believe he was in sales or finance--treated me as though he were welcoming me into his own home. He came outside to visit with me, invited me to wait inside where it was cool, and offered me water and cookies. That level of genuine kindness is incredibly rare in today's world. I spent my career in retail and served as a vice president of a national brand, so I recognize exceptional customer service and a well-run organization when I see one. I would have been honored to have someone like him working for me. Keegan and the entire staff at Borjon Auto Center turned a difficult situation during a family vacation into an exceptionally positive experience. In negotiations, they then told me these cars don't get sent with a charger anyways- so they wouldn't negotiate on the cost to replace. This was from both the Sales manager and another lending agent. They went as far as showing me the window sticker as "proof" of its absence. I contacted Kia Corp. They affirmed the inclusion of a charger. Even told me to refer to the owners manual and it's specific language(see picture). Radio silence from the General manager, I'm unimpressed. As a "family owned business" is keeping a trickle charger worth the cost of your reputation?

I have an extended warranty, and I was explicitly told by a Subaru employee that they would be willing to work with my warranty company, so I trusted them to handle the situation. When I arrived, I was greeted by a rude staff member who spoke down to me and was incredibly dismissive of my concerns. I was understandably worried about the possibility of needing a full engine replacement, but I was assured they would take care of it. I called every day for four days asking for updates and whether they had contacted my warranty company. Each time, I got vague answers that they were "in the process" of working with the warranty. After leaving my car there for two full weeks, I found out that no repairs had been performed at all. No one ever called to approve work, no one told me my car did not qualify, and no one even contacted me to tell me to pick it up. When I spoke with my warranty company, I was told there is NO RECOND THAT SUBARU EVER REACHED OUT. The man named Jim, or possibly Jeff, at the Subaru service center was especially dismissive and unprofessional. I left two voicemails requesting an update after they had had the car for over a week and had to threaten speaking with a manager to get a callback. The whole experience made me feel ignored and brushed aside, and it was especially upsetting as a young college-aged woman trying to get help with a serious car problem. I would not trust this service center.

Unfortunately, their customer service has been consistently terrible. My Jeep was towed from San Diego and left in a parking lot next door that was easily accessible from the dealership. Instead of moving it themselves or allowing it to be pushed the short distance, they made me have it towed all over again to their lot -- an unnecessary and frustrating hassle. On another occasion, they kept my car all day with no resolution and called me just 30 minutes before closing. I couldn't get there in time, leaving me stranded without a car. Another time, I was late dropping off my car because I had to take my child to school. They held onto the car all day and didn't service it, using my late drop-off as an excuse. Just today, I dropped off my Jeep for a rattle. It took three weeks to get the part, only for me to be told at 2:30 pm that they received the wrong part! It's clear they don't prioritize their customers at all. As a local business woman, I even created discount coupons to offer customers waiting for their cars a chance to enjoy a bite and drink nearby. Yet, no one has ever received a coupon, and when I asked service personnel about them, they didn't even remember the coupons existed. I wish there was another place in San Luis Obispo to take my Jeep under warranty, but unfortunately, there isn't. This dealership's lack of care and professionalism has made me seriously reconsider my loyalty.
