I have been looking for a used cargo van for months and just last week drove 120 miles to buy one only to find out the dealer misrepresented the vehicle online, in e-mails to me and verbally over the phone. My wife and I were looking for used cars since she has a car and I only have 2 motorcycles and we're about to have a kid. But the car market is atrocious, as I'm sure everyone knows. The used cars on the market are all high mileage and horribly expensive. I happened to find a unicorn Subaru at Dealer's Choice on car gurus. Very low miles for what it was with one old lady owner that bought it new and took extremely good care of it. But we're in Fresno and Dealer's Choice is 2 hours and change away. I called and emailed them and I got an immediate response (at 6pm no less). Had a great conversation with the owner and his son about the car to double the check it wasn't a scam (Like the others we saw). They answered all my questions and I felt really good afterwards. So my wife and I woke up at 7am to get to Dealer's Choice when they opened at 10. When we got there we found the car to be everything we wanted. And the buying process, I kid you not, was one of the best buying experiences I've had at any business. The father and son were extremely welcoming, more helpful than anyone at any dealership of any kind deserves to be, they helped us get the best rate, were lovely to talk to while we were going through the process, were upfront about their pricing and costs (no hidden fee of any kind), and laid out some extras for us. Needless to say it was manna from heaven to get this car and car buying experience in this economic climate. He allowed me to take the van to a local auto shop to get it checked out before I bought it. He knew that I was coming from out of town and held it for me to see before trying to sell to anyone else. He answered all my questions and was very thorough in finalizing the transaction. In addition, I had Daniel and Bryson complete the wiring on my van to add solar power, a deep cycle battery, and vent fan. They also added a roof rack and awning. Daniel made recommendations for what to buy on Amazon as we discussed what I wanted. While working on the van, Daniel sent me pictures every step of the way and always consulted me to make sure everything was to my liking. The price for doing the work was much better than the quotes I got in Bakersfield and I feel they did a much better job! It was worth the drive over to have the work done. Daniel and his son Bryson are beyond helpful, honest and all-around great guys. Somehow I ended up buying a 2015 Jeep Wrangler from them. They were honest with the deal and I was in and out within an hour and a half. (Most of the time just waiting on the credit check.)
