This my second review for Moore Time. They finally brought my heirloom grandfather clock back. The person that brought it back installed it back in the case. He did a horrible job installing it, it doesn"t even work now. It did before they took it to their shop. There are now no hands on the clock. He said he couldn t find them but he would bring them back. I never heard from them again. They never even worked on my clock. After having it for a year & 7 months. I took a family heirloom clock in for repairs in January 2024 and paid over $600 for a part that was needed from Germany and told it could be as long as 3-4 months before I get my clock returned. I foolishly left my clock in their care. I was NEVER told the shop was closing or being sold although I know find out Christmas 2023 was when the store was sold. I called numerous times, sent text messages and nothing. I am so frustrated because this is a family heirloom and I have no idea where my clock is and no one will return the calls. I just can't believe they think they can mess with customers and family heirlooms and not be accountable. I will keep trying and at this point I don't care about the $600+ I paid I just want my clock back. I trusted Moore Time to sell my Howard Miller Devonshire Limited Edition #5 grandfather clock and they sold it and didn't tell me until I called to check on it. They told me they lost my paperwork to contact me of the sale and I have yet to get my money from that sale ($5,500). I have tried several times and given them my phone number and address to send the check to....All without any response. They have closed their store (June 2024) in Old Town Spring and the owners have retired and moved out of state. They sold it Christmas of 2023 and I did not find out until approximately May 2024. When I talked to Benjamin Moore, one of the owners sons, in May, he told me he will be opening up a repair shop in the Houston/Spring area in the near future. Beware! read more

My father left me his Rolex watch when he passed away. He had had a couple of links taken out, and I wanted to have them put back in. A jeweler told us that the band was damaged and that he couldn't put the links in and I would have to buy a new one from Rolex. I had been waiting over a year and not wearing the watch because a new band would have been $4k. Ben fixed it and put the links in in under 5 minutes. My bill was $50, and that included batteries for 3 other watches. I was so happy I almost cried. Excellent customer service, highly recommend!! read more

Brought in an heirloom pocketwatch for repair and was told it would be about 4 months until it was ready. I checked in after 6 months, and they said that it was next on the list to be worked on and should be ready in a couple weeks. I checked back again a couple months later and they told me the same thing. I continued to call for the next 4 months after that and got a version of the same story: "they're about to start working on it". Finally I had had enough and picked it up from the shop. Sure enough, every screw on the movement was in the exact same position. They had it sitting on a shelf and hadn't touched it for 12 months. The woman behind the counter was incredibly unapologetic for not completing the work, and acted very irritated that I would pick up MY property before they "had a chance" to fix it. Yeah right. You "had a chance" for an entire year and somehow couldn't find the time to do your job. I wouldn't be as upset if they had been upfront and told me that it might take over a year to do the work, or if when I called for updates they were honest about their progress. If that were the case I would have taken my watch to another shop and had the work done long ago by now. Instead, Moore Time gave me the runaround on multiple occasions, were dishonest about their timing and behaved unprofessionally all around. At this point I'm just happy my watch didn't get lost or stolen. I can only imagine how many other client's watches have been in their back room for years. TLDR: don't get your watches serviced here, unless you like being lied to and waiting years for the work to be done. read more

Absolutely the worst of the worst! Waited three months for them to come set up my grandfather clocks. Kept rescheduling appointment. Two needed minor things done to them. They took them back to the shop. This was April. Despite pleading begging and numerous phone calls I could not get the clocks repaired or delivered for a party in December. Still not fixed. I went and picked them up today. The lady has a real attitude. And the store has 1/8 of the merchandise in it it had in it four years ago. They are aptly named we need more time. read more

Worst experience for a repair. Been waiting 8 months for a cleaning. Called them for the 8th(?) time today and they claimed ANOTHER paperwork mix up. This is the 3rd time they used that excuse. I startedto write a review and after reading all the other reviews I thought what Moore could I say. These people don't have a clue about Customer Service. I took an Antique clock in over a year a go and an individaul named Ben looked at it and said it probaly just needed to be cleaned and oiled. A few years prior they had done considerable work in replacing the bushings etc, Over the past year I called to check on the progress and the woman who answered gave me a litany of all the reasons why it was not done, to the fact that people they tried to hire were old and had arthritis! What a crock of Ka Ka! Today I went in and presented my Claim Check. After a few minutes an idividual came out and said it was still being worked on and in the que. I asked how much longer and he said Months and that they were still working on 2021! I've been waiting 15 months (not a typo) for service on my antique clock. Their excuse? A backlog of service requests. I bought a $40 brass clock from an antique mall, and when I took it home, it didn't work. I've visited Moore Time before in Old Town Spring, so I thought I would give them a shot. I was sure it was going to over a $100 but they said it would only be $30 to fix it, so I was excited! I left the clock with them and about 10 days later they called me back and said it was ready for pickup. I went there, paid the cash, and got my clock back in working order. I called about having them shorten up a new watch - I wanted it done by a professional so I didn't scratch the titanium band. They said to just bring it in and they'd do it while I waited. And they did. Fast, professional and totally reasonably priced. They also had some cool watches and clocks. The nice younger guy showed me a few watches including some made from teak that were super lightweight. They also told me they could have repaired a Seiko kinetic which I no longer have :( Overall - super nice, they know watches and had a surprisingly cool collection of other stuff. read more

Absolutely THE WORST clock repair shop!!!! The inner workings of my mom's grandfather clock was picked up in June of 2018. Here we are in January......7 months later and still no clock. My mom (age 83) has called on numerous occasions requesting updates. At one point it was to be delivered and someone was ill, the next time (in December) they noticed something was wrong with the pendulum (even though they've had it for 6 months). So I called today on behalf of my mom and Ben said they would try and get it to her by the 24th. I told him I find it hard to believe it takes this long to get a grandfather clock fixed. He told me that it's a 6 to 10 month time. Ben has the worst customer service and could care less about his customers. I told him I would never recommend this clock shop to anyone, and he said "good I have more business than I can handle." Those are words straight from his mouth. read more

I needed an insert clock for my mantel clock so I visited Moore Time in Old Town Spring. I was very dissatisfied with the customer service. I arrived just as the business was opening and the manager was assisting me. Another customer arrived in the store. After a few minutes, the other customer asked if anyone else was there to help her. She said she had driven 2 hours and needed to pick up a clock but the shop wasn't open when she arrived. The manager left me to wait on her. I had also driven a considerable distance to visit the shop and did not appreciate the manager moving to the other customer before he had helped me. I waited a few minutes and he still was helping her. I took my item and left the store. When I called the store later to complain about customer service, the manager stated that he helped her because she was belligerent. She was not! She never even raised her voice and didn't have to ask for help more than one time. The manager immediately left me to help her. So not only does this shop have terrible customer service, they are also liars. I will never visit this store again!!!!!! read more

I was quickly told by the young lady eating her breakfast at the counter that their expert didn't "work with the general public". And that "we probably can't help you". I usually don't quit doing business with a place over one bad experience or employee but I'll make an exception this time. Wow! I gave them my clock in December and 3 1/2 months later still no service. There were just repeated excuses why they couldn't get to it. I went to pick it up today and it took them forever to find it. Don't trust these people with your merchandise. Ben took my name and number MULTIPLE times (I had to keep calling bc he never got back to me), and STILL never got back to me. Tyler and the staff are nice. I took my cukoo clock In September 2017 I didnt open it until November 2018. I kept the clock in a safe spot for the year. Finally when I decided to set it up I realized the music Box wasnt fixed, which was the reason i took it in back in 2017. So I took the clock back and the told me they can trouble shoot the clock for $50 or I can pay $275 to fully fix it! At this point i have realize this business takes peoples money and say they fix things but dont. Also I dont understand how they fix pieces if the clock worker is gone before 3pm everyday. Been there twice. Both times they seemed far more interested in helping me out rather than selling me something or even charging me for the work they did. Great place for watch repair (they worked on a Movado and Omega for me) and clock repair. Apparently they are about the only place left in Texas that does cuckoo clock repair so they are running 8 months behind on those with hundreds in queue. They also have very interesting gift items for sale in their show room aside from clocks. I noticed an antique telescope, vintage kaleidoscopes and old weather gauges there yesterday. I took a cuckoo clock in to Moore Time for repairs after a friend recommended their services. Kathy had it fixed in five minutes; all that was wrong was that the chain came off of the sprocket after my son tried winding it. This was after one of their competitors brushed me off, saying the repair would cost more than the clock was worth. Moore Time has earned all of my clock business! read more

I have a Howard Miller Mantle clock that I wanted them to clean and adjust as it did not keep good time. The charged me $350, kept the clock for over three months, and did nothing to fix the loose clear front door or the loose rear door. In addition, they tried to reduce the warranty period by a month, saying we had not picked it up but we pointed out that they had not called us to let us know it was ready and their notes confirmed they had not called until a couple days before we pick up the clock.In addition, the clock was still running fast so I took it back and asked them to please adjust it. Their reply was to show me how to adjust the speed on the back. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. I would NOT recommend taking your fine clocks or watches to them. I have a fine grandfather clock I was going to take next, but now will have to research for another repair shopl read more

I dropped my clock off on September 2014 and they told me it would be finished by Christmas. After 3-4 phone calls and me going into the shop 3 times it was still not worked on in May 2015! At one point they told me it was almost finished and just going through the test phase to make sure it was finished correctly. They flat out lied to me. Brought in an Atmos clock for repair. Turned out it was missing a small gold plated screw in its suspension. Was told it was a $10 screw and would need to be ordered. Three months later I pick up the clock ... $200 for service and $10 for that gold plated screw. But when I get the clock home and look, the missing screw was replaced NOT with a gold plated one, but with a small black metal screw that matches none of the others in the clock. So they billed me for a part they did not actually put in my clock. Will never use them again. read more
