When it comes to pricing, they were very similar to other shops in the Riverview area. I did end up getting a 10% military discount, with my end total coming out to $326. Luke, at the service desk, was professional and quick.

The employees recommended replacing the entire caliper, and I agreed. Will, who was working at the front counter, was nice, but unfortunately, he did not have the information we needed. After about 10 minutes of searching and calling his manager, who was on lunch break, Will stated that the other manager/employee, Jose, was "completely useless." Is this really the kind of conversation that should be happening in front of customers? Will said he could not find the part in the system, but the labor catalog showed approximately $50 for the labor. He told us we could go to AutoZone, purchase the part, and bring it back. After going out to the parking lot, we were called back inside and told that Pep Boys would have to order the part through their own system. We agreed and went back inside. I had just completed this same repair three days ago, with the parts costing $96. Will quoted my father and me approximately $140 for the repair. (50 for labor and whatever the part would cost expected around 100 dollars We explained to Will that my father could not stay for the duration of the repair because he needed to travel for an urgent family matter. Will said, "Don't worry, you can pay later over the phone with us." My father and I left, with him dropping me off at home. Shortly afterward, Pep Boys called my father and told him the repair would actually cost over $400. This completely wasted our time and forced my father to turn around instead of continuing his trip to help his sick daughter. To be clear, I do not believe this was Will's fault. He was doing his best to help us and gave us the lowest price he could find in the system. However, once the manager returned from lunch, the price suddenly increased from approximately $140 to over $400. Based on my experience, this felt like deceptive pricing and an attempt to charge us significantly more than we were originally quoted. The lack of communication, inconsistent pricing, and unprofessional comments made this an extremely frustrating experience. STEER CLEAR OF PEP BOYS!
