Extremely disappointing experience! My pool remodel was quoted at 3-5 weeks and took about 3 months with delays, poor coordination, and lack of communication. Tile work was not properly planned, and insufficient materials were ordered which forced a redesign mid-project. After refill, the auto-filler ran nonstop and I repeatedly raised concerns about a leak. No action was taken for months and my water bills increased significantly. I eventually hired independent leak detection and found multiple leaks that should have been tested/identified after demo. Also had property damage that wasn't repaired. Unbelievable professionalism! The team arrived on time and began work immediately. The boss, Rodney, is knowledgeable and experienced in locating underground leaks. He located the leak (a 40 gallon a day leak when the pump was operating) in the first hour. Not only did Rodney locate the leak, he discovered the cause for the leak and suggested action to take to prevent it from happening again. It took three days to complete the repair and notwithstanding the need to jackhammer the concert apron around pool, the leak was repaired and the pool concrete apron replaced within the three days of work. Aside from a slight difference in color of the replaced concrete, it is nearly impossible to tell where the repair was made. Plus, the repair comes with a TWO- YEAR warranty! May do pool service OK if you get a service person not related to owner. He would spend 10-15 minutes, leave leaks and not clean salt filter. Worse was promise to install and hook up hot tub. Had no idea what they were doing-had to finally get another service for system to properly operate. Also prices quoted were not what we were billed. Simple service with right person may be ok. Terrible operation and lousy people to deal with. Charge for services not done then they get pissy when held accountable. Was much better before the original owner stepped back from the business. There are much better companies with much better people. I know this because I'm now using the company my neighbors use, and they are fabulous. They actually clean my pool instead of just skimming it, they balance chemicals properly, they do what they are paid to do, they show up on the right day every week, and they don't try to scam about repairs that aren't needed. read more

When I developed pool issues in the dead of summer I only could presume the worst in both time and cost to get it repaired. What a pleasant surprise when I talked to Bill from Moores and despite already having been in my area earlier in the day, he came back my way and even when the fix wasn't as quick as we both had hoped, he stuck with the job and completed it the same day. Then came the invoice and I was very pleasantly surprised at the fairness of the charges. Another thing, we talked at length about the general age and condition of my equiptment and while never once trying to sell me anything, he educated me as to my options in the future as the inevitable begins to occur with aging equiptment. Bill Moore is the best! He is skilled, professional, courteous, and efficient. The first three times I called Bill for assistance (over 6 years) he was able to troubleshoot my issue over the phone, advise me to do the simple fixes on my own, and never charged me a dime. He just asked that I call him for serious issues, too. Last year I actually got to pay him for a repair on a rental home, and he showed up, fixed the issue in a single trip, and called me to arrange payment a day later. So convenient! And last week he replaced my home pool filter while I was away at work....it was like having magic little elves take care of everything for me! We hired Moore's Pool Service based on the great reviews the had on Angie's List. Very good choice! We bought a new house that had many pool issues. The owner was supposed to pay to have everything working before closing, and she had produced receipts showing that the repairs had been made. However after we got the house, the salt cell and pool light still didn't work. Moore's examined the issues and stuck with the problem until every single pool feature worked. They even called the manufacturer of one of the parts and obtained receipts from the prior pool company that did the repairs so we wouldn't have to pay for replacements. If you have a simple pool system and want a reliable service to check the water weekly and scoop out the largest of debris, Moore might be a great fit for you. They are timely and responsive. However, as our pool system was a bit more complicated, I'm afraid it suffered over the years that we used this service. Rather than repairing a vacuum valve, they plugged it and the debris and grit continued to pile up. Also, they apparently never opened the pumps to clear the debris from the baskets.
