The hotel complimentary breakfast starts at 7am. Eggs, sausage, bagels, waffle and toast. Enough to get your day started. The property is dog friendly and lots of guests have dogs on a leash walking around. The summer we went, there are families with kids. Fun times for all. Our deluxe room comes with a $10 free drink each nice. Also, can't forget the cookies at 3pm. I would return to SeaCrest Ocean Front Hotel.

I apologized and stepped back, and only a few seconds later she did not greet us instead up front asked if we had a reservation. From the beginning, her demeanor toward us felt unfriendly and dismissive. We had booked an Ocean View King with a patio, but we were assigned a fourth‑floor room on the east wing of the hotel with only a partial ocean view and a strong smell of urine. it turns out this area of the building are pet friendly. We returned to the front desk, waited again, and when she called us over with "What's up," I explained the issue. She was quiet for a moment, then reassigned us to the main building second‑floor room above the reception area and informed us that no patio rooms were available. Her behavior throughout the check‑in process was discouraging and made us feel unwelcome, which was disappointing--especially considering we spent over $850 for a two‑night stay. However, a part from this staff issue, Seacrest is a great place to stay, the complementary breakfast is great! but yes that one staff was not the greatest...

The room was very clean, and the hotel itself was well maintained. One thing to note is that the bathrooms have an open concept shower, so water can splash onto the floor. Putting down a towel helps, but it's something to be aware of. The hotel also has a small convenience shop in the lobby with snacks, drinks, and essentials like headache medicine. It isn't a huge selection, but with so many stores nearby, it wasn't an issue. They offer on site parking for a fee, which was convenient, and one of my favorite features was the rooftop area it's a great place to relax, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere. I booked a room before reading reviews because it was part of the American Express "Hotel Collection." Usually, I don't worry about issues since they promote it. We stayed in room 205. I chose it because it was far from the elevator and on the opposite side of the street from the nightclub. Little did I know, we were actually right above the lobby kitchen. On our first morning, my wife said it sounded like they were doing maintenance because it was so loud, I was dead asleep! On the second night, we were woken around 5am to music so loud I could make out the words. At first, I thought, "maybe it's the bar across the street and they should be closing soon," since I thought it was still before 2am since the blinds were closed. I was wrong the music kept going. Eventually, I couldn't stand it anymore and got up, realizing it was almost 6am!!! I got up and followed the sound. Using the stairs next to my room, I found the music coming from inside the kitchen right below us. I went in and saw no one there! I went around the building through the front door and found no one there, I used the kitchen door by the lobby to see if I could spot an employee, but there was no one. When I turned back towards the lobby, the front desk attendant was returning and asked if I needed help. I told him, "Yes, turn the music down! It's 6am!" I went back to my room, but I was already awake. I could still hear it, though not as loud. Management should do a better job of enforcing quiet hours; this should not be a free-for-all, especially as the price wasn't cheap. I will not be returning to this property. My wife said, "this is the loudest hotel we've ever stayed at!" We did enjoy the beach chairs, bikes and happy hour up on the roof. Bartender service up there, not so much. Not a good choice on a wedding anniversary trip.

She put us in touch with the Pismo State Beach people and we ended up having our reception on a sand dune next to the golf course. We actually took a bunch of wedding photos on the golf course itself, and then Colleen helped us re-locate our wedding across the parking lot on the outdoor patio at Fin's restaurant. It was really lovely and nothing we would have ever figured out how to do on our own. Colleen coordinated our chair set up for the ceremony on the sand dune and was an awesome, completely dependable and calm on-site coordinator for our reception. Filipino's had another great event last night!…read more~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ or a bit of Culture in the SLO/ Santa Barbara area The last time we were invited, we both had a great time at their New Year's Holiday Event. This time I reluctantly missed it (was under the weather), but my wife went (who happens to be part Filipina) with her friend. Her Chinese friend had such a good time dancing, playing games, watching a beauty contest, eating traditional food, & dancing, that she did not want to leave till almost midnight. My wife ending up staying about 6 hours! A little over a year ago we meet two of the very active super-charming mature Filipina ladies just by fate, at the Chinese Buffet (Dynasty) down on Grand Ave. in Grover. Somehow they suspected that my wife was at least part Filipino, struck up a conversation, & then promptly invited us to their prior party. We had a great time with hours of extremely imaginative games & contests, great company, & great food (e.g. Pancit ). At that event, we both felt like totally party poppers, since while we about the youngest their, the retired crowd had almost super-human energy. Maybe, their secret powers come from eating Balut, or my favorite, Lumpia Shanghai. Even though it was New Years Eve, we were such party poppers that we left before midnight....shame on us. It was also a flash back to my College days at the University of Hawaii, when I was an active member of UH Manoa's Filipino Language & Culture Club. We had tons of great parties & fun events. including fund raising car washes & hiking trips up on Tantalus mountains behind Honolulu. What a wonderful bunch of friends! At this event last night (8/15/15), my wife brought me a huge plate of homemade Filipino food, while she related to me a summary of their current event. Prior to the beauty contest, they even tried to get my modest, but beautiful wife, to run. Out of shyness, she deferred. At next years event, I am going to have to try to have her enter....and win! That would be so cool. Anyway, they had a wonderful time with tons of games, all kinds of dancing (both traditional & modern), the many contests, along with eating tons of homemade food. As opposed to the New Years event the average age of the crowd was around thirty or so.... so they had even more amazing energy to party....and exhaust my wife with fun! We are now active supporters of this hidden Cultural Center, set unassuming, in the periphery of the "wilds" of Grover Beach :) If you are ever lucky to be invited, you are guaranteed to have a great time and get some Culture at the same time. I thank the people of this wonderful Cultural Center for their amazing hospitality & great friendship!
