We arrived at the moot house at around 6p.m the restaurant wasn't too busy. We went inside and the host looked at us and said what do you want. I said a table for 2 would be nice. we waited for 15 minutes to be Acknowledged by the sever. He came and took our drink order and we waited another 8 minutes for drinks. 23 minutes in the restaurant before drinks. The waiter had a bit of an attitude as when he came back with the drinks the slammed them down on the table. It took another 4 minutes for him to come back and take our order. The food came out and it was decent. he didn't come back for 15 minutes to see how our food was. I was not impressed as it was my first time ever going to this restaurant. read more

Moot House has always been a safe multigenerational super consistent restaurant for many years. When change comes many resist but congratulations on the new look! The recent changes have not taken away from the original concept but just brought this up to date. In fact the fresh look broadens the appeal of this local landmark. The addition of the bar is a wonderful addition. Happy Hour offerings were great! Special kudos for the mushrooms, calamari, falafel, pretzel rolls! Beer Nuts while nice and hot lacked seasoning of sweet and salty. Most of all the highlight of all of this groups restaurant is their ability to hire and TRAIN great staff! Thanks for always focusing on staff development! It shows! New loyalty program is nice addition also. PS looks like people will come back and quickly even if you take out the salad bar! My recent dining experience with a friend at The Moot House was the best Friday night outing we have had in a while! It was my first time there, and her first time since their remodel. We are both in our mid-twenties and enjoy a refreshing beer at the end of a long week so we wanted to check out the 30 beers The Moot House now has on tap. Upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly hostess who quoted us a time of about 30 minutes, so we headed to the bar for a beer while we waited. The bar was busy but the bartender was still very friendly and took time to explain the beer flight, suggest a few of her favorites and answer our questions. We got a flight of Cider, Pilsner, Hefeweisen, and Stout- a great way to appease both of our tastes for an excellent price. We were taken to our table well within our quoted time and promptly greeted by our waiter. He was cheery, knowledgeable and genuine. For an appetizer we got Jeff's Falafels which were crispy and well-complimented with hummus and a quinoa tabouleh. The Bison burger my friend got was grilled to perfection and she loved how crisp and fresh the fries were. I had the Salmon Balsamico which was a generous portion grilled with a honey glaze and a side of well-seasoned rice and tender, sautéed squash and snow peas. Dessert didn't disappoint! After discussing with our waiter which to choose between the Sticky Toffee Pudding (suggested by the manager) or his own suggestion of the Caramel Apple Streusel, we went for the Toffee Pudding. We were pleasantly surprised when he brought them both out and said "We didn't think you should have to choose!" Went here this morning and tried their brunch menu from their new menu. 3 of us each tried something different --- all 3 items were extremely delicious. The brunch menu was very small (only about 8 items), but really good! I don't need a giant menu if everything is done well. The service was great. Plus --- fresh squeezed orange juice. yum!!!! The Moot House recently went through a renovation and turned itself into a pub type restaurant instead of a classic American Steakhouse. I have to say while the decor is certainly better the food has taken a steep dive. It seems that they are trying to reach a younger demographic but in so doing they have cut their menu, and taken away a lot of what I used to find most appealing. I should note that I am a 27 year old. We started the evening with chips and queso which i don't remember being on the menu before. The queso was incredibly bland and tasted like it had been thickened with cornstarch and water. Very disappointing. The chips were also stale and tasted like they came from a bag. Truly I think the queso at Qdoba is far superior, which is sad! We then split a wedge salad which was good but they no longer serve it with candied pecans which is a mild disappointment. Our entrees were good, I had the prime rib and my husband had the beer can chicken but neither of which we would have ordered if they had had their old menu. I was hoping to get the filet and my husband was going to order the rack of lamb. I realize that restaurants need to change and adapt to new environments but I feel like for the Moot house to go in this direction they have lost what made them unique in Fort Collins. There are tons of pubs in FoCo but not that many good steakhouses. I guess I'll be going to Sonny's instead from now on. Sorry to say this place has gone so downhill. I don't mean because of Covid I mean the food itself is terrible. I love sitting outside by the fireplace but what we had to eat should've been thrown away. No care was taken in the prep of the meal and maybe the bartender had to do everything. So disappointed in the Thanksgiving meal we got which cost almost $200, which included pie that cost $25. The turkey and potatoes were ok. I've never had cranberry sauce like they had. Just that. A liquid sauce with no cranberries in it. Brussels sprouts were tough and not thoroughly roasted. Mac and cheese terrible-dry. Not creamy. Went to the Moot House July 11 and was very disappointed. Would leave 0 stars if i could. Im here on vacation and decided to check it out.I did feel comfortable and safe on the patio. We ordered wings which amongst the worst i ever had. The waiter who was a Deutsch said 5 came to an order. The price was 12.95.we ordered two they were small and soggy wing sauce was Franks red hot which i expected better do two the price. 8 wings came out so i think the waiter was trying to get us too order two make the bill higher so the tip would be more. There were 3 of us i had a beer which was delicious my friends ordered martinis. The first martini was way to dirty tasted like straight pickle juice and the other tasted like straight Gin.We preceded to ask for the check because if they canr cook a wing or make a drinkable martini i was going to try anything else. Asked for the check and the waiter was very rude because he knew the tip was going to be lower then if we ate there. Very pushy he would have made a better car salesman then a waiter. Needless to say i understand restaurants are jaking up there prices do to Covid 19 and im trying to support resteraunts but at least put at edible food and drinks. read more

I believe this guy is the manager, a hispanic man I think, but he was the most rude person I've come across since moving from Texas to Colorado 2 years ago and believe me I've come across some rude ones. Thought I would try something different and I didn't care for it and wanted a different dish. I was willingto pay for it as well. I was treated like I was asking for an organ of his. Never again will I darken the doorstep of this place and hope others have a better experience there than myself. Another woman was there and didn't even try herself to help me. We just paid and left. Food was good. Ordered prime rib special. Portion size was ok and tasted good. Special did not come with a salad or even a piece of bread. Appeared to be severely under staffed. I cant believe that its taken me so long to write a review an update for the Moot House! I love this place! They have one of the best patios in all of FoCo. Its away from the road (college), it has shade, and atmosphere. If for nothing else, come for Happy Hour. They have a sneaky good Happy Hour with TONS of appetizer options and great beer/wine at a GREAT price. I recommend the stuffed mushrooms, personally. The fish and chips for two with a growler is next on our list to try. For dinner, we rarely stray from the pan seared chicken. This dish is so simple, yet so delicious. THEY DO RUN OUT of this though, so you should probably have a back up plan. Usually one of their daily specials are pretty fantastic. The best part of the Moot House has always been the staff. I have never felt rushed, ignored, or upset with the service in any visit that I have made here. The staff is all very kind, considerate, and just plan good at their jobs. read more

I love this place! It's got great food, service and atmosphere. My wife and I typically sit on the patio, and with the fire pit you can't easily beat the the dining experience. It has been my experience, that reservations are not always necessary, we usually do not have trouble getting in and seated even on a Saturday evening. read more

Having been here countless times, I still enjoy this restaurant. I am a huge fan of salad and their gourmet salad bar does the trick for me. I always get the salad bar and usually the jumbo coconut shrimp for my entree. This is a great place to go in the winter especially because of it's cozy, pub-like atmosphere. The service is usually great, but kinda hit and miss at times. The hostesses are usually kinda ditzy and will rarely remember your reservation if you choose to make one. In the past I have enjoyed the moot house greatly, this last time in was much different. First the appetizers came out well, very tasty, this began the night off great. Then all down hill. When we even saw our waiter it was for a brief moment, he seemed to busy with other tables to give ours any attention. It got worse, his service was horrible and politeness did not exist. I had a very bad experience here! When looking at the menu there was very little selection making it hard to choose. However I order some type of chicken and my boyfriend order the Moot Burger. My chicken had no flavor and very little rice so I wanted to take a bite of my boyfriend's burger which looked more appealing. This place is something special! We had such a fun time here and the Christmas decorations are gorgeous. We met another couple here and were seated in a comfy booth. Lemon drop martini was delicious and appetizers were hot and flavorful. We had the mushrooms and pretzel bites that came with an amazing cheese dip! I had the chicken on the house favorites menu which was so juicy and came with incredible mashed potatoes and veggies. I liked that it came on a hot plate so my food stayed warm long after I got it. While I didn't check out the room I sat in last time (the one with the fireplace) the rest of the place looked very nice. The outside was finished and functional and looking great. But most of all the food was WAY better. I think they must have hired a new chef. Not only were the items plated differently, but the prime rib was incredible and the best I've ever had there. The moot house is OK. I have been here a number of times although unfortunately the prices seem to keep getting higher and the quality does not seem to follow. It is typically fairly quiet and seems to fit the older crowd well. When a salad comes out on a freezing plate - I'm always a little nervous because it means it was made much earlier. When a Caesar salad is flavorless, I get even more nervous - because how hard is it to run out and buy some tasty dressing if you can't make it in the kitchen. For years, the Moot house was our "go to" for a consistent dining experience. While we were disappointed that the restaurant made the changes, we thought we would give the new concept a try. Our very inexperienced server dropped an open bottle of ketchup on the floor adjacent to our table, I picked it up for her (she was balancing their dinner on a tray) and set it on the edge of our table. To my surprise, after thanking me, she PLACED IT ON THE TABLE OF THE NEXT DOOR DINERS! really? I ordered medium rare prime, ($23). What I received was a well done butt cut. I would have requested a different cut, but never again saw the server until time for plate pickup. She delivered our deserts, along with an apology, "sorry, we ran out if dessert spoons, so I figured you could use your coffee spoon". I swear! I'm quite disappointed with the overall experience and won't be coming back. Coincidentally, the restaurant was less than 50% occupied at 6:20pm on a Wednesday evening. We went to The Moot House for my husband's birthday dinner. Our food was wonderful, and the service was exceptional. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly friendly. I had the Ancho chicken mac and cheese and it was fantastic! My husband and in laws all had the prime rib and said it was perfectly seasoned and cooked to their liking. The Moot House is one of our favorite special-event-night-out in Fort Collins restaurants. I've never been disappointed with a meal at the Moot. The English-style pub bar is also a great place to kick back and relax. I love taking clients out for lunch at The Moot -- they can eat light at the salad bar (one of the best in town), or live large with the prime rib sandwich and fries. I've attended several group business lunches, and they are great at accommodating a large crowd. A real delight. read more
