MILTON, ABNER & GABRIEL know what's up!!! I didn't have expectations on timing honestly but at 8am SHARP they were at my location and ready to work! There's a reason there are so many 5-star reviews on here for Moovers - they were great! The response to request for a quote was quick, clear and reasonable. On moving day the team of Francisco, Jose and Lino (hope I got that right guys) called ahead of time to let me know they were coming and arrived 5 minutes early. The move was from a tough to get at third floor walk up - these guys were hoofing it from the second they arrived on a sweltering summer morning until the truck was unpacked at the new location a few blocks away that afternoon. The team was super polite and customer focused - all property was accounted for with zero damage. When it came time for the bill, all the costs were clearly explained and in line with the estimate. When our basement flooded and we had to quickly move out our belongings for the contractors to complete the restoration, the Moovers were there to help. Before we found the Moovers, we had contacted several moving companies who either could not accommodate us in a timely manner, did not respond to our calls, or took a few days to reply. The Moovers gave us an accurate estimate and we were able to book them within a few days. The 3 man crew showed up on time and were very professional. There were no extra charges for packing and wrapping and they did a great job protecting our furniture from damage. Since our neighbor was also in the same boat, the Moovers made it easy for us to book them together to pack and move both our units and transfer our things to the storage facility. We did not hesitate to book them again when the restoration was complete and it was time to move our stuff back. My husband and I moved from a large one bedroom on the Northside to an apartment that was 2/3 the size in downtown Chicago, and this was the company we hired. Although they were by far the most expensive quote we received (about double from everyone else) we hired Moovers because their website exclaims that they make your move stress-free, and that they are "experts" at assembling and disassembling furniture. This was particularly important to us as we had three large pieces of expensive Ikea furniture (a bed and two wardrobes) that we thought might need to be disassembled. We let them know about this before they gave us the quote and thought the high price might be due to their furniture assembly expertise. In the past we've used Cresent movers and thought that they were excellent, but they very much just show up with strong men who are careful and can move fast, not furniture assembly/disassembly experts. On the morning of our move, Moovers showed up with 2 men after they had emailed us saying they were planning on sending 3; we didn't mind this initially but it quickly became problematic for a few reasons: 1. These men (who were strong and moved fast) did not know now to assemble or dissemble furniture, so this slowed things down quite a bit. This was particularly frustrating because this is why we agreed to work with this company in the first place. If we knew they were essentially just sending strong guys we would have hired someone else who was less expensive. After they had been working for two hours, they told my husband and I that we needed to disassemble the furniture ourselves if we wanted them to move it because they couldn't figure it out. 2. Our downtown apartment has a elevator reservation system for moves so the time delay made us miss our elevator window. We let Moovers know about the elevator time when we booked them so this was really disappointing. They eventually sent a 3rd mover to help, when I called to express my disappointment but it was too late to make up for the lost time. The company agreed to work with us and wait until they could move in which we appreciated, but they really were not anything beyond your typical moving company. This was the most stressful move i've ever had, but this may be because the company billed themselves as being a cut above the rest and they simply are not. instead of being able to relax, we were moving boxes along with the workers and assembling and disassembling furniture ourselves! The only negative thing I can say about the workers is that they were not very careful with our fragile items; i saw a few things dropped, and we got more scratches on furniture during this move than any other move we've had, which is super frustrating. The company also tried to charge us almost DOUBLE the high end of the quote they gave us (almost $1300!) due to the extra time it took the movers. We respectfully disagree with them and basically argued them down to a $900 move...the original quote was around $750 for the high end (all this to move 20 medium uhaul boxes, one three seater couch, a bed and 2 wardrobes and 8 small uhaul boxes, and two book cases--one large and one small). On a positive note: our new building completely underestimated the distance from the loading dock to the elevator and the workers really made it happen despite this (they told us that it was 50 feet and it was definitely closer to 100 feet), so overall we thought the workers worked very hard and we tipped them very well, despite the drama and stress. I wouldn't hire this company again because they are not what they claim they are and I don't like they they tried to double the price in the end. We were very honest when we let them know exactly how much we needed moved so if they underestimated the price, they should have paid for it, not us. Update: since posting this review this company has been calling and harassing me; I've had to block them. When I refused to respond, they've now posted a response that is entirely fictitious; it does not even dignify further response. read more

Get ready to be gouged. I was quoted $525 plus an additional$25 for a heavy equipment. I ended up paying 690 plus credit 4% card fees. I told them the earliest my building was going to open the dock for moving was 9:30am they insisted to start at Public Storage at 8:30 it took about 20 minutes to get a few items from the storage area and I ended up paying for the 30 minutes they waited for the dock to be opened. But at least it only took them 1 1/2hrs to load the truck. That's rotund 1. Round 2. The mover said unloading should be faster. I got to my new building (Fields Loft) just after 11:30am I called them ASAP to meet me at dock. It took the driver 10 minutes to go around the corner - they were parked at the Cermak Fresh Market- to where they were supposed to unload all my stuff. For the most part only one guy was working. Halfway through the delivery the two movers disappeared for about 15 minutes I found them chillaxing by the elevator. Minutes later I noticed Miguel, the other mover had been MIA so I tried find him to no avail. At this point I figured I'm gonna get screwed and sure enough I did. It took them 3 hours to unload a jr. one bedroom. I was also charged $40 for a roll of plastic wrap and tape. They have a lot of great reviews but beware. SERIOUSLY BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. read more

The crew of three worked their butts off. Everything was carefully moved to the right rooms, and they finished faster than was expected. I loved using this company! The work was amazingly fast, with great attention for being careful and providing an excellent rate!! Their response time was fast when we first inquired, and they were very detailed with their quote. It wasn't a hassle at all getting my questions answered. We had a team of 3 movers for our two bedroom condo as well as a storage unit in the basement. The team arrived earlier than expected, and they were friendly and courteous from the initial greeting. After walking them through the storage unit and condo, they immediately got to work. They moved quickly but also provided the utmost care in wrapping and taping items. They clearly explained about the amount of supplies included with the service (shrink wrap and packing tape) and the cost if additional supplies are needed. They also went over and asked about add-ons for special types of boxes (for mirrors, TVs, etc.). Once at the new location, they again went over our plans first as to which rooms the furniture was being moved into. And just like the first location, they were just as fast moving in everything and getting it set up. All in all, they were finished a half hour sooner than estimated, which was great! If I could offer a tip to anyone using this company. Utilize the detailed checklist form of what's being moved when they ask you to register your order online. I feel like we gave them a very accurate idea of what we had for when they got there, and they were definitely prepared when they got there. read more

I am so happy we went with Moovers! Everything about the process was easy and user friendly. When booking, they gave us a lot of info, which was overwhelming, but made it so that there were no surprises. Compared to other companies, the cost was relatively affordable, but it was especially nice that they don't charge you for every little thing (blankets, tape, shrink wrap, etc.). We used Moovers Chicago for a move from a highrise to a duplex-down in Chicago, and the whole thing was flawless. Carlos, Alex and Abner arrived on time, quickly taped our boxes and started moving things to their truck. Having three instead of two men certainly expedited the process. Going with Moovers was a great decision. We had Jose C., Lino and Francisco move our 2-bed from three floors up into our new place on the 2nd floor in 5 hours flat with no incidents. We used Moovers Chicago a few weeks ago for our move. The staff arrived 15 mins early, they were professional, and moved us very quickly into our new place. We were expecting a five hour move, but it ended up taking four hours. I was impressed by the speed of the movers while each and every single one of them took very good care in wrapping and transporting our stuff. I had a great experience with Moooooovers. They arrived exactly on time and brought 3 guys (Milton, Alex, and Abner). Each guy worked quickly, carefully, and efficiently. I moved from a 3rd floor walkup to a 2nd floor unit 1 mile away. The team was able to complete my move in less than the projected time, so my total ended up being less than I expected. The three-man team did a great job on my move - packed, loaded up, and unpacked everything in a timely manner, with no damage to any of my belongings or walls at my new place. However - I did have a fair amount of stuff to pack, and I didn't feel cheated; I was very glad to get everything moved and unloaded in one day.
