Double meat burger and sweet potato fries
    Henry T.

I don't understand how these guys can't just make the MDC Burger but without cheese. The cashier had to switch to the "Build a Burger" option and build it by individual ingredients. So it was a double meat burger with lettuce and tomato and instead of Mooyah sauce, which she told me what it actually was, I got mustard instead. And sweet potato fries and a peanut butter shake. I will say that the potato bun crumbles very easily because it is so soft. But the burger is well cooked and tasty, if a bit plain. I think I should've ordered a regular soda because it was kind of difficult to drink the shake, even if that was also very tasty. And finally, it's kind of expensive at $23 for those three items.

Great local spot to get some freshly made burgers. Been back a few times and I think I've found my favorite combo: turkey iceburger with sweet potato fries and lemonade. The regular burgers are good too, though I still don't like their bun, hence the sub for iceberg lettuce. Service is always friendly. Good amount of seating with wireless chargers available.

1rst time here at Mooyah Burgers. Busy spot. The burgers had a nice soft brioche bun & a medium sized well seasoned burger. You can make your own burgers. I am not a sauce gal so I passed on the Mooyah sauce. Had a mint chip shake which was thick & tasty but an abundance of chips made it hard to sip! The manager was very friendly & touched base with all the tables. Order & pay at the counter. Ample parking. Tucked next to CVS in a strip mall on Camino Real close to the Carlsbad mall.

Was just what I wanted! Fresh burger cooked to order. You can make it your own way or choose from their options for toppings. Not too greasy, but a good juicy burger with fresh cut fries served hot!

My first experience here was terrible, bad communication, burnt fries and our burgers were not even warm, just room temperature. We placed an online order since we were close by at a nearby coffee shop, we went over to pick up our order. We stood by the pick up counter and were ignored. No greeting or we will be with you shortly, nothing. They weren't even busy. We waited for 10 minutes and asked an employee walking by about our order. It was just sitting on the counter getting cold. We ordered the patty melt burger, hot bacon jam burger, the family sized fries and a couple of shakes. The burgers weren't even hot, the fries were most burnt ends and tasted like they were cooked in super old fry oil. Absolutely awful. Someone reached out to us to share our thoughts and we told them what happened. They sent us gift cards to give them another try, we did and but it became such a hassle to even use them. The staff was unaware they offered gift cards, they didn't want to honor the gift cards, and then decided to only give us a partial discount. We were told we had $40 to spend and were only able to use part of it. There was so much confusion and miscommunication just to give them another chance, it was not worth it. The food isn't great, the shakes were okay, but stay away from their fries.

I had just finished seeing a movie at the nearby mall, and prior to that, a hike at Hosp Grove, so I was starving! MOOYAH to the rescue! The burger was ample (if a bit greasy), tasty sweet potato fries, and I got a free cookie, which was delicious! The staff was excellent and very kind to the folks who came in after I was seated at one of the spotless tables. It felt like community. This place is a keeper, and next time I'm getting a shake!

First time here. Easy to read the menu. Just enough choices. Fries are amazing, burger is good too just don't wait too long to eat it. The bread gets soggy and everything slips off. Very tasty though. They will eventually need a bigger place. Nice job guys

Adult and child finished their burgers with no complaints and would be willing to come back. Ranch sauce was free. Mooyah sauce is similar to ranch mixed with ketchup. Parking was plentiful and easy to find. Seating might be a little tricky as there seems to be a steady stream of customers dining in. Not a fan of cold buns, not sure if can ask them to heat it up on the grill. French fries were unseasoned and unevenly fried - some were crispy and some were mushy. Kids still enjoyed them.

I love me some in-n-out, but if you're looking for a switch up, look no further than MOOYAH. My go-to order is just the cheeseburger which uses a soft potato bun, a beefy patty and topped with delicious MOOYAH sauce and classic veggies. They also offer a number of different burger options to your liking. I also think it's nice that they offer either fries or chips as the side in case you're craving one or the other. I tried their Mooshake which was just okay, not as thick as I thought. The chocolate chips in the mint chip shake are also too large to go through the straw, so you need a spoon to eat this. There's a decent amount of seating inside and outside and the staff are all incredibly welcoming and friendly! I'd definitely recommend MOOYAH for their solid burgers and fries!

So good! Visited for the second time here while in the area and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients, really soft bun and flavorful, their fries are good. I love that they have the skin on them and aren't greasy. Service was great, the owner is always super attentive and nice to everyone that comes in and checks on them. It's a family oriented place with wall lined seating and charging stations along the booths super nifty! Patio seating in a warm day and friendly atmosphere.

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger. Kind of average taste. Bread is a little too soft so it got a little soggy. Fries are tasty but with they were more crispy. Service was fine, the owner asked how it was and I said, "good" with a thumbs ups. Seating inside and a few tables outside. Pretty quiet. The Mango Lemonade was tasty and refreshing not too sweet.

You can order at the counter or on the kiosk. We prefer to order from a real live human. This is the menu on the counter.

Today was our third time visiting Mooyah burgers. We went there once when it first opened & it was okay, (think they were still working out the kinks). The second time was a few months ago and today was due to the request of our uber picky son who asked to come here for lunch. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a seat. In a few minutes our buzzer was going off and the husband went up to the counter and grabbed our food. Everything was good. Fries were hot and crispy and looked like they came from actual real potatoes(not pushed out through a machine), husbands burger with potato chips was really good and my chicken tender sandwich was delicious too. The last two times I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and I really liked that as well. The kid gobbled down his food and the majority of my fries too, so I'm guessing that he liked his food a lot. We also got him a cookies and cream shake, which he loved. The hubby said it was very thick and it didn't look like they skimped on the Oreos at all. This place is always busy, but they seem to be actively cleaning off the tables and people are going in and out quickly, so seating has never been an issue. There's also extra seating outdoors, if you're so inclined. A gentleman, (not sure if it was the owner or manager), but he came out from the kitchen and checked to see if everything was alright. We nodded and grinned with our mouths full. Everything was on point today! We shall be back Mooyah. My old man said that he's ordering the patty melt next time. It did look pretty yummy on that poster! I'll try to remember to take pics before we devour our grub next time, but no promises!

We were visiting the Flower Fields and were craving a good, juicy burger. We had seen Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes on social media and decided to stop by and give it a try--and we're really glad we did. Let's just say this was one of the best burgers I've ever had. My pregnant wife absolutely loved it and even joked that the baby was happy too. We ordered the MDC Burger and the Mushroom Swiss Burger, and both were incredible. The burgers were juicy, delicious, and packed with flavor. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. The fries were amazing--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly how fries should be. I also had an Oreo shake, and it was thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. If you're near the Flower Fields and craving a great burger, Mooyah is definitely worth the stop. We'll definitely be coming back!

Build Your Own Burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, jalapeños, and fresh mushrooms. Excellent.

Our waiter was pretty cool, although his name is escaping me now. We ordered a few appetizers, wings, steak taquitos, and the pretzel. We noshed on these before we ordered our meals of bison burger, and two single patty smash burgers. Not sure if it's because it was around 7:30/8 o'clock at night, but the food was not up to par according to the two that I was with, who frequent this place. The steak taquitos tasted a tad overdone, but still pretty good since it was the first time I've had them. The pretzel was really good, but the dipping sauces not so good. I still cannot figure out why one of them was a hot caramel sauce. I have never put caramel on my pretzel and it tasted like crap to be honest. The queso must've been the bottom of the pot because it was hard and kind of burnt tasting, so pretty disappointed in the pretzel choice. Our meals came and honest to God the Smashburger looked like a kids meal. This tiny burger plopped on a big white plate with onion rings, and the burger was not good. The bison burger did not have any of the sauces on it that it stated in the menu so he needed to ask for some love on the burger. So the waiter brought over a bunch of sauces. It's a shame because they talk about this place all the time and I really wanted to try it and it just wasn't up to par. I ended up taking my Smashburger home, and the next day I scraped the nasty sauce off it, added mayonnaise to the bun and an extra slice of cheese and it was actually pretty good. I definitely wanna come again because they talk about this place all the time and how good the food is. Maybe it was just the night we went.

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

Jacob was our server, and he was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Later, Kaitlyn brought out our butter cake, and what started as a quick interaction turned into one of those unexpected conversations that give you a different perspective and refresh that we all need every once in a while. The food was just as impressive. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was the perfect appetizer. For dinner, we ordered the Center Cut Filet, Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni, and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and something we'd happily order again. If you're thinking about dessert, do yourself a favor and order the butter cake. It absolutely lives up to the hype. What stood out most, though, was the people. Working in a restaurant can be overstimulating and exhausting. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. It's easy to enjoy a great meal, but it's the people who make you want to come back. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, the entire team is doing an incredible job. Thank you to Jacob, Kaitlyn, the manager, kitchen staff, and everyone else who made our evening so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

We were seated in 15 minutes. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere. The lighting was inviting and there are very cool design details everywhere from the bar to restaurant seating area. Our server, Fran, was so welcoming and let us take our time selecting a drink and then a starter dish to share to our final entrée. I had a small gift for my husband and Fran noticed so the restaurant of the evening she kept commenting on his birthday. Before the check was brought to the table Fran gave my husband a birthday card that was signed by all the staff. Such a sweet person touch. We enjoyed a complimentary chocolate dessert. it's saturday night. we don't have a reservation. they tell us the wait is over an hour. what do we…read moredo? we wait. and thank jebus we did, because this ended up being one of the best meals i've had in a while. we started with the prawn. we each got one, and given that they're $10 a skewer, our bill started off STRONG. the prawns were perfectly roasted with hints of mezcal and prickly pear. the candied habanero or whatever garnish of death was on there totally kicked my ass in terms of spice. in true Asian fashion, we ripped the heads off and sucked all the goodness out of them too. no shame. you don't waste the good stuff. then the cornbread showed up. the group collectively agreed we'd pass on this one next time. for me, the goat cheese threw me off, but that's entirely on me because i hate goat cheese and still knowingly ordered something with goat cheese. i played myself. there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish, but compared to everything else we ate, there wasn't anything particularly standout about it either. but then. the fucking broccoli showed up. it is literally charred broccoli with chermoula, lime, and peanut. that's it. BROCCOLI. and after taking one bite, i learned that broccoli could, in fact, be life changing. suddenly i was a new woman. a woman who wanted nothing more than to sit there and stuff her face with massive amounts of broccoli. unfortunately, i couldn't because we still had dishes to taste. and so i moved on to the pork belly. when people describe something as "melting in your mouth," they are specifically referring to Campfire's pork belly. because that's exactly what it did. just melted all up in my mouth and lit my taste buds on fire. normally, i find pork belly prepared this way a little heavy and can only stomach a few bites, but i could have eaten the entire dish. but of course i didn't, because i'm a lady. and the octopus was about to show up. and show up it DID. i don't like celery, and this dish had plenty of it, but because it was shaved super thin, it was actually super palatable. the octopus was incredibly tender, and there were little bits of chorizo throughout that gave it the perfect balance. also, love me a good chimichurri sauce. and finally, last but truly not least, the chicken. a whole ass half bird, charred to perfection with roasted red pepper, kumquat, and fennel. apparently i like fennel now??? i didn't even know i liked fennel like that, but here we are. if i hadn't already been stuffed to the absolute brim, i could have destroyed this entire dish. the chicken was juicy and tender, and paired with the fennel, you're almost like just having a healthy dish??? LOL. although we went in with every intention of ending the night with s'mores, our bodies simply said no. there was no more room at the inn. see what i did there :P so instead, we left and went on a very long walk to digest all the delicious goodness that was Campfire. i cannot wait to go back. mostly for the broccoli, which is a sentence i never thought i'd write in my life. and this time, i will absolutely be making a reservation.

Oh, Campfire, I'm glad you're still here and still have a special place in my heart. That said, my…read morelast two visits have been underwhelming. I always order the same dishes: the porridge bread, roasted broccoli, and ribeye for two. Since nothing else on the menu particularly interests me, those dishes are generally good--but when I'm spending $250-$300 on dinner for two, I expect the food to be exceptional, and it just hasn't been. I also haven't found the cocktails especially impressive in recent years. Campfire helped bring craft cocktails to Carlsbad, and my husband and I still reminisce about drinks like the roasted beet and charred corn. Unfortunately, the current cocktail menu hasn't made the same impression. Campfire is worth trying if you've never been, but as a local, it's no longer a restaurant I look forward to visiting regularly. These days, I'd probably go about once a year.
