The service department was wonderful. However, it needed a some new parts. After some issues, he refunded my money (or so I think, hasn't hit my bank yet) and refused to sell me another moped because I was going to be trouble. Hands down best moped shop in town! All of the staff are so helpful and friendly. Today was my second time stopping by the shop (to get my new license plate mounted), and although they only had to remount the plate, they wipped off some grease marks on my moped and even added some air into the tires. Although these seem like miniscule tasks, most other shops wouldn't bother taking the extra time and effort to help you out. Best customer service EVER! Seriously, y'all are amazing! My husband went in on July 4th to look at moped options for me and Jay walked him through the options and helped him find the perfect machine (a brand new 2019 white Kymco - first one on the island, how cool is that?) that I absolutely love. KJ delivered it and was also incredible - showed us how everything worked, how to set it up on the center stand and made sure we had all the paperwork . The next day we came back to the shop to choose a helmet and Jay spent at least 45 min teaching me the basics of riding and turning until I was comfortable with my new scooter. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that - I feel way more in control and confident. Everything with them has been incredibly smooth, professional and friendly - I wish there were more places like this. I'm really surprised this place has good reviews. I needed a moped to get to and from work to avoid parking fees for the next year until we move. I got on yelp made a list of the top places and started the hunt. I walked in to Moped Garage and immediately got the slimy salesman vibe from the owner. He basically said that his base moped was better than the other guys. I asked to take a look at the mandatory maintenance schedule (needed to maintain the warranty). I went to take a cell pic of the maintenance schedule to compare costs later at home and he snatched it away saying something to the effect of not allowing it to be photographed unless I pay for a bike because I could be a spy distributing his maintenance schedule to competitors. This really rubbed me wrong. I left to think it over. This was still the best price I had found, so I went to call later to schedule a time to buy my moped and for his how to ride "class". 2 days went by of me trying to get ahold of him and he never answered the phone. Finally I just showed up. There's no parking for this place, so I parked like 2 blocks down. There he was at the counter doing nothing. He was rude when I told him I was ready to buy a scooter and sign up for the class. There supposedly wasn't a class for 2 days even though in the initial sales spiel there was one every day. So I walked out thinking I'd just find somewhere else that didn't feel gross and dishonest, even if it was more expensive. As I walk out I notice that literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR is Apex Motorsports. I hadn't even put that place on my list or noticed it in the 2 times I was right there lol. So I checked it out on yelp real quick before walking in... great reviews... and long story short I made the best decision buying from Apex. I have a fantastic moped, it was $100 CHEAPER but made by the exact same manufacturer/same engine as the Islander at Moped Garage despite the bs the Moped Garage tells people. The maintenance schedule for the warranty is a breeze, and cheaper. I never felt belittled, they never upsell me, the guys give off a sincere vibe, and each time I walk in there I leave happy. Do yourself a favor and go to Apex. Oh, and Apex has an alley you can park in! read more

I came across MG while looking for mopeds in August. The biggest hurdle for me was finding a shop that would take the time out to teach me how to ride a moped. Most of the other places said no or said that they couldn't leave the shop. Jay without hesitation took 1-2 hrs out of his busy day to teach me how to ride it. I got comfortable on the moped quickly and could navigate it through both crowded and wide-open areas. Everyone in the shop was really cool to talk to and everyone gave me advice on how to keep the bike lasting for years. All together, buying a new moped cost ~$1200. MG shipped my bike to the windward side for $60. Overall, I really enjoyed my buying experience here. The shop seemed to have the respect of longtime moped riders yet also help us young guys get started with our first purchase. Compared with my experiences at other moped shops, the prices seemed very fair, their expertise seemed very sound, and they took care of all of my needs in a timely manner. With every product they recommended for purchase, I was given a justificationp and how to properly use each item. The only difficulties I've experienced with this shop was that parking in the area is very limited (a 12 stall lot next to a small liquor store and neighborhood parking). One piece of feedback that I would give the owners is to keep customers' orders organized. I ordered a lock with a T-bar and I was going to get a U-lock due to a "mixup". Also, the bike was shipped with very little gas in it; however, the tank only holds 1 gallon of gas so the cost was not too high. While these little mixups didn't bother me, it could bother someone who is expecting exactly what they ordered. Mahalo MG! read more

Really good experience at Moped Garage. I went for a safety inspection and received more service than I expected with no additional cost. They did a good job installing the license plate mount, reflectors, and providing me with two screws to secure the battery cover. They were very informative in securing my moped when parked short term and long term. I didn't need a helmet but they have some really good quality ones. Honest and fair, customer asked if his moped could be fixed first but they told him that they'll fix the ones that came in first and that he has to wait in line. Observed one of the workers change oil, and he used new oil to wash out the old oil. Quality service. Before I left, they unexpectedly power washed my moped for free, and dried it off. Highly recommend to others and I am for sure, going back there for future servicing! Oh and watch out for their security dog, it's always watching you read more
