Not sure why Yelp showed they are closed, but they apparently are open and my neighbor recommended them to us. However the entire experience was frustrating. We scheduled a roofing estimate for 10AM and waited at home all morning, but nobody showed up. Then they said the estimator would arrive around 11AM. Nobody had arrived by then either, so we called again. This time they said someone had already came by but nobody was at home. The excuse was so ridiculous. We were home the entire time, and our front door camera did not capture anyone coming to the house at all. Customer support said they would confirm with the estimator, but they didn't call us back and stopped answering our calls. What made this even more frustrating was that it seemed intentional, because they initially had my husband's phone number, and after he called many times with no answer, I tried calling from my own number and they immediately picked up. Once they had my number on file, they stopped answering my calls too. Overall, this was an extremely unprofessional experience. Poor communication, dishonest excuses, and terrible customer service. Five Stars +++++ for Moran Roofing! We woke up to water pouring out of our light sockets during this last big rain. We called a few roofing companies to see when someone could come to give us an estimate and repair the roof since time was not on our side. After three voicemails to other companies and no return call, I called Moran Roofing. I spoke directly to the owner Brett and within hours he had sent over two professionals to assess the damage. To our surprise they were able to do the repairs right then and there to elevate the issue and not cause any more damage. Moran Roofing responded quickly, did an amazing job with the repair, and the price for the repair was fair. We hired Moran roofing to do a full roof replacement on our two story home. We waited a few months to get scheduled which wasn't a big deal. Brett (the owner) said once they get started he would communicate what was found on inspection and replace any wood that needed to be replaced (as well as paint to match the home). He said he would let us know of the process throughout the job. We had the opposite experience. Communication and oversight on the job was very much lacking. He did not tell us what was found before the new roof was installed. There was some water stains but he says it didn't leave any damage (however we don't have any photos and the Contra Costa County Inspector was not able to see part of the exposed roof prior to installation. We started 2 weeks ago and it is still not complete. We can't reach Brett or anyone at their office. He never came by when he told us he would twice. The worst part is my stucco is damaged! They cut my stucco to fit the flashing! No one told us this would happen. They even used tar to fill in a hole that was left behind. Some flashing is still not painted black like the others. Overall, based on the lack of communication and ruining my stucco without warning or repair, I would not recommend this company. read more

The crew were very polite , professional and they cleaned up after themselves exa: extra roofing debris and Nails. The crew as well as the Foreman arrived very early Am starting the job and finishing towards the evening . I made sure every day that I provided donuts , Pastries and water for the team showing my appreciation and gratitude. Brett was not overbearing and was not trying to push his Co. on me to make a sale . Just his knowledge and what he had to offer . samples colors textures, and what to expect before , during and after. For that I truly appreciate it! It is alot of competition out there but seeing is believing. When I did have some questions and concerns I allowed Brett to respond 48 to 72 hours I know how busy he is running a Company in this economy. I contacted several roofing companies to change my roof.. after I met Brett I decided to go with Moran Roofing..the price Brett quoted was competitive but the reason for my decision was mostly because Brett explained in details the process..he was very patient answering all my questions, and was very pleasant to deal with. We had our roof done about 1.5 years ago. The process was quick and straight-forward from the initial inspection and communication to the completed roof along with some extras that I asked for. Aside from nails being left on the ground leading to a damaged car tire that needed to be replaced, Moran Roofing did a fantastic job, reimbursed me for the tire and at the end of the day, they did a great job. Moran roofed our 150 unit community in 2015 and provided a warranty. We are starting to have leaks and numerous calls for warranty service are going unanswered. One homeowner has had an active leak since December 18, 2023 and to date has not had any contact from Moran despite repeated contacts form both the management team and the homeowner. The receptionist who took my most recent inquiry today, reported that the owner gave staff time off over the holidays and so they are backed up. When I inquired about the time frame for simply responding to the owner I was told "I have no idea". I'm very wary of the firm that doesn't honor their warranty. read more

Called the company and talked to Brett about a roof issue on a home in Danville. He said to send contact information and he would set up a time with our tenant to look at the roof. We expressed urgency as the roof may need to be repaired as a couple of water spots were seen in the home. When nothing was set up we emailed and called numerous times but no answer or call back to set up times. After two weeks and 3-4 calls and emails we reached out to another roofing company who was very response and took care of the roof. I called and Brett made excuses and said someone was supposed to have called me to reschedule. I rescheduled for Friday, September 11, with reassurances from Brett that he would be here. Friday came, and Brett was a no-show again! I called and spoke to the receptionist, who said she would call me back. Another hour went by and I called back again -- she hadn't been able to reach Brett. The price was right, but: 1. They left too many old nails around the house and today one went with through my sneaker and sent me to the doctor for a tetanus shot. 2. I wish they had shown me the difference between the grades of roofing material as the just-below premier grade looks pretty thin and is easily scrubbed off by a boot when cleaning the solar panels. 3. They sent 4 guys to rip off the old roof but only one to put the new roof on. How good can the work be when only one person is doing all the work on a roof on a hot sunny day? 4. I am very pleased with my experience with Moran Roofing. They removed my old roof, repaired dry rot and installed the new roof in a matter of a few days. When the city inspector came and saw who had done the roof he said he knew it was done properly because that's how Moran operates, which made me feel even better about using Moran! Come to find out only a few years after the roof was put on that they left a big hole which exposed my attic to allow in any kind of critter. UPDATE: This morning I had the pleasure of speaking with Jason Moran who laid all my roofing and business practice concerns to rest. He assured me there would be no charge for the service call and even went as far as to give me his own personal cell number if I ever have any concerns again in the future. Jason was VERY professional and gave me the utmost in reassurance that he and his company would have my back... or at least my roof... covered for the next 50 years. I would HIGHLY recommend Moran Roofing to anyone interested in good quality work and with exceptional service. ORIGINAL 2 Star Review: Discovered my roof was leaking after only 6 yrs. Ron came out to my house the following day and verified the leaking into my attic. Was told I didn't need to be home the following day and he would have the issued fixed. So far, so good. When I returned home at 3pm, I found his business card in my front door. Nothing else. No verification of work done...NOTHING. After two calls over four days for a follow-up, I never had my calls returned. Finally, I called the office directly and was first "corrected" that my roof was 10yrs old...which it wasn't, after producing my contract and reviewing it with the person on the other end of the phone, this was resolved as the roof was done (as I said) in 2010 and is 6 yrs old. Was then informed that the leak in my attic was due to a problem with the flashing around the chimney and it is not covered. I had a brand new roof installed 2010 BECAUSE of leaking around the chimney...now I'm being told it's not covered under my 35 year warranty. Must pay for an $85 service call. Horrible business practices. AVOID this company. Can't say enough about the importance of good quality customer care, which is for me, is almost as important as a good product. Moran did my composite shingle roof back in 2008. My uncle (who is a contractor and has used them before) called them out for me and the price was reasonable so I went with them. They did a good job on the roof and I haven't had any problems with it. I can't comment on their overall tidiness since I had a lot of other exterior construction going on at the time, but one problem I had was a dirty hood vent in my kitchen after the roof was installed. The vent goes straight up through the roof and they got a lot of pebbles/asphalt from the shingle material in it so it would make noise and drop pebbles and debris onto my cooktop. I called them about it right away and they came out and removed the hood and cleaned it so problem ultimately solved rather quickly. Still, I'd rather my repair people be a little more careful to begin with and not have to deal with follow-up fixes. One other complaint, when they removed the roof there were some small sections of board that needed to be replaced (as is usual I'm sure) but their price to repair those was high so I did it myself. It was easy enough that I felt it could have been done as part of the roof job or just a little more. All in all, its a 3.0 - 3.5 star job. I recently called Moran again and left a msg to get a quote on some roof modifications and never heard back. Called again and talked to the receptionist and never heard back. Called a third time and talked to the receptionist and never heard back. I guess they only want the big jobs and don't care about the smaller stuff (OR future business.) Do I really need to hound THEM to give them MY business?! What's wrong with this picture??!! I can understand being busy, but simply say that. "We're fully booked through this month, but we can get back to you early next month" OR "We don't do smaller projects just re-roofs" would have been fine. Simple. Don't make promises you're not going to keep. I have other properties in the area and multiple family members in the construction and real estate business. Moran will not be getting any of our future business. read more

I just had a new roof put on my house this last summer (along with a new attic ventilation system, gutters, gable ridging and additional attic insulation)...Moran Roofing did a bang up job! Roof looks great. Service was excellent. Price was competitive. They even worked to meet a specific deadline that I had. As a testament to their excellent customer service....I recently had a slight problem with 2 of the shingles on the gable ridging. I called Moran Roofing as soon as I noticed it and they were out to my house within hours to fix the issue (turned out to be a manufacturer issue). I had Moran Roofing put a new roof and add more insulation to my house approx 10 years ago. I was very happy then and even happier now 10 years later. Every summer my interior of the house was incredibly hot and remained way too hot into the evening with the air cond going. I couldn't figure out why until I had an electrician here to install a ceiling fan and I told him how hot this house was. He said he knew why. He took me out front and said look at your air vents under the attic eaves, there's insulation blocking the vents so no cool evening air can get in and the hot afternoon air cannot escape. I called Moran Roofing who installed my roof & insulation and explained it. They came out to San Jose again, their employee couldn't have been nicer, wore his mask the whole time and used a leaf blower - blew the insulation back away from the 7 vents. Right after that we had 109 degree heat for several days but my house was very comfortable. What a difference!! A big THANK YOU TO BRETT MORAN for making me a happy customer again. I must say, superb service and dedication each time from their entire team with a great customer service all around from receptionist, working crew and of course Jason who is extremely professional and passionate about his job. These guys did a great job installing my new roof. Not only was it for a good price but they fixed some dry rot areas for me at no additional charge. They cleaned up their entire mess including cleaning all the leaves out of my gutters. I forgot to call Direct Tv to have my Dish relocated and Moran Roofing worked around the Dish until the last possible moment so i could coordinate having the Dish moved. Moran roofing was easy to work with and did a great job installing our new roof in 2006. When we put the house on the market a few years later they came back out, inspected it, and wrote up a roof report for us to include in our listing... at no charge! Now that our new house has a roof leak we called Moran. Unfortunately for us they are too busy for a small repair job, but they referred us to another roofer who got it fixed quickly. The only complaint I do have is the long wait in getting the work done. They're clearly busy and backed up for months so if you need a roof right away they probably aren't the company for you. read more
