Over priced (almost $300.) and poor cleaning of a vintage typewriter - it looked like they just blew some of the dust off and changed the ribbon. Father's Day gift for my husband; I dropped it off 4 weeks in advance while emphasizing the importance of it being ready by Father's Day; yet, a week out, I called to check on the status and did not get a call back. Three days out, I called and the typewriter was MIA; 2 days out, I get a call saying it will be ready Saturday after 2pm (the day before Father's Day and just a few hours before they closed for the weekend. Old time service oriented small businesses, depend on loyal customers - about 15 years ago, my husband & I use to drive out of our way to purchase Vac bags for our Royal machine. Horrible! They charged me $300 up front to fix an Espresso machine. They said they cleaned it and repaired the pump. No itemized receipt and they said 'good news there is no additional cost.' Wow, thank god for that! The machine cost $500. Seems to me they should look at it first before asking for $. Stay away! Grifters. read more

Buyer beware! They charge a $100 diagnostic fee that they say will be applied the total, but then say it is additional when you pick up. A small repair to our coffee machine ended up taking over two months and cost us more than a new unit. In addition they tell you be phone the cost and charge you $100 extra for nothing. We told Chris this was not a transparent or honest way to do business and he said there is always one or two customers who act this way. (Manager/owner: note that if there are one or two customers that add bad reviews to your bussines every month, you will have to start looking for a new job soon :) Good luck! read more

The store on 88th St tells me it's a the service center. Service Center doesn't answer the phone or return my calls. Like most others have posted in their reviews, avoid this place at all cost!!! I brought my kitchenaid mixer in to be repaired. I had to pay a $75 fee just to drop it off (I was told it would be applied towards my bill). They never once (after 3 weeks) called me to tell me the status of my kitchenaid. I called them 3 times. Finally, I spoke with someone who told me it's still not been repaired (they said it would be repaired in 2-3 weeks) and they said it will be a little over $400 when all is said and done. Say whaaaat? My kitchenaid didn't even cost that much brand new!!!! He then had the nerve to tell me how labor intensive it is to put it back so they were going to give my kitchenaid back to me in pieces. This place is a joke. Took in our TriStar vacuum cleaner on September 23, 2019. October 1st, Chris from the service department gave me a quote of what it would cost for a new motor. I left a voice message to see how long the warranty would be for a new motor. I had to keep calling to get an answer. Finally I told Scott from the shop that we decided to not get our vacuum fixed. He said on Oct 10th that the vacuum would be back in his shop the next day, Friday. October 14th, called the shop again and Scott said it would be in the shop on Oct 15th. Still no vacuum. Scott said it was supposed to be delivered on Friday 18th and when he called back that same day, he said that the delivery truck was not going out that day. So it was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, Oct 19th. We finally picked it up on Monday October 21st. They are over priced and the customer service was horrible. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. DO NOT take your vacuum to this place. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! read more

I am absolutely so incredibly disappointed in this business. My husband took our vacuum here to have a tune up and get repaired. The man wrote down for us that it would take 1-2 weeks and also tried to charge him double what the online price is. It has now been 3 weeks and every time we call he tells us that our vacuum is "in pieces" so we can not pick it up and we will never be able to get our money back because he already started working on it. He also lets us know that if we choose to pick it up then we have to pick it up in pieces. This is a TERRIBLE business and I would never recommend this to anyone. I JUST WANT MY VACUUM BACK! Also they tell you they will give you a loner which is also a lie. Try having a shedding dog and no vacuum for 3 weeks... It's miserable. read more

This shop is horrible horrible horrible. I took my coffee machine in for service on March 5th. 7 weeks later I had to call and ask what's going on. I was told that we just got done reviewing and inspecting it (7 freakin weeks) and we need to order some parts to complete the repair. I authorized the work. 4 weeks later I call and ask what's going on. I was then told we need to order another part that we missed during the repairs. This took another three weeks. One star Is too many stars. I took my newer vacuum in to get cleaned up and see if they could find out why the roller wasn't rolling quick. They required $75 dollars up front for the cleaning and diagnostic. I was then told right there, that I should expect my vacuum back by later the following week. The next week comes and goes, and I didn't hear anything. We are now into week two, I received a phone call from the service center. The service center stated that they had just took the vacuum apart and to "fix my vacuum" they need almost $200 more, stated that my vacuum wasn't worth fixing, and that I could call More Than Vacuums to purchase a new one. I declined and asked them to put it back together and get it back to me. Two weeks later with several angry phone calls with Matt in between, Matt (the store manager) was LAUGHING at how angry I was with the lack of communication and how long this process was taking. The entire experience was horrendous and Matt was extremely disrespectful. There was absolutely no communication on the shops end, and lots of fallen through promises, a month later and a waste of money I finally received my vacuum back in less of a working condition then when I took it in! Just picked up our vacuum. Not Happy! Guys an @$$! We checked it before leaving. Things that were supposed to be fixed weren't, tried to cover it with excuses. Then found something broken that wasn't again tried to cover it with excuses. They told Ted a few days ago we would get a discount for our troubles, not even close. Offered a New filter I told him it should have a new filter. Well you need to change it every two years. (Why would I want a new filter that I don't need to change for 2 years?!). We told him to forget it and just got out of there with our vacuum. This guy Chris and this place is a joke and a rip off! I can't give anything but a negative review! Deserves a negative 5 review. I'm not one to write reviews but I must share my awful experience with this place. I was told 7-14 days and my steam cleaner would be done. It's been 6 weeks and he's yet to finish the job. When I call it's "oh I have the part in my hand at this moment and I'm finishing your machine as we speak". Then another two weeks go by, I call and he gives me the same excuse. Avoid this place at all costs (literally)! I usually support small business, just not when people try to rip you off. Here's what you need to know...Dyson cancelled their contract with this place because they "consistently overcharged customers"!!!! I could stop there, but I won't... My wife took in our 2 year old Dyson vacuum for repair, seemed simple, one half of the plastic "ball" broke off. I'd be thinking in and out. After almost 2 hours there, the guy there said that he needs at least an HOUR and $130 to clean out (why???) and disassemble the vacuum to get to the broken piece. Then, when the part comes in (had to be ordered) it may cost another $130 to fix it. Here comes the sales pitch though...if it's too expensive he would generously (sarcasm here) give $130 credit towards a new vacuum (recommended $400 to $600 vacuum!!! Nicely done sales guy! You should try used car sales! In addition, the guy bashed on Dyson (only the most reputable vacuum brand) and kept telling my wife how his are better. I'm glad she didn't take his offer. We took the vacuum to the Dyson repair center, it was fixed in 5 MINUTES for FREE. Nobody ever disassembled the vacuum, it's an external piece! Sorry for the long story...let me summarize...this guy tried to scam my wife into spending $400 to $600 vacuum when our expensive vacuum needed a 5 minute repair.
