I stopped here after I picked up pants from my tailor next door, and I needed a quick bite to eat before running other errands. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. This is the cutest little café with fun shop items and lots of delicious choices from ready-to-eat items in the refrigerator and display case to a whole menu. I didn't have time to explore as much as I wanted to as I need to get back to my errands so I just ordered a slice of the ham quiche. It was incredible! I ate every bite and it was super satisfying! I can't wait to go back and try other items, but I will probably have to get a slice of the quiche to go to have a later point in the day since that was so tasty. read more

Morena Provisions is one of the restaurants near my workplace. I had passed by for several years without having stepped inside. My coworker and I recently decided to try various restaurants at lunchtime, so one Thursday, we walked into Morena Provisions. The interior is really cute, with lots of gift items and delicious-looking baked goods under the glass display. The woman who greeted us was also friendly. The back wall displayed several pre-prepared takeout items in plastic containers, along with various beverages, including a few bottles of wine. I took some time to study the menu. At the time, I was on a diet that was low carb, which meant that I was not ordering any of the sandwiches or bakery items. I thought the chicken atichoke salad sounded good. However, when I ordered it, I was disappointed to learn that it was one of the pre-prepared items, as I had hoped for a big green salad with chicken. However, they kindly added spring mix to the chicken salad to give me sort of what I had hoped for. I will say, that, though they were very nice to do this, it seemed that the serving and left me hungry, and it was pretty pricey for a pre-made chicken salad. My friend ordered one of the panini on the menu. I think she enjoyed it, but I would also say that it was very small. When I asked if she would be interested in returning, she said that she would prefer to go elsewhere, as Morena Provisions just doesn't have the best value for the price. All in all, it is a nice place, but I don't think that the serving sizes or the products themselves merited the prices that we paid. Perhaps there are other items on the menu that would be a better value. Also, it seems from the other reviews that the bakery items are a favorite. I would possibly try it again, but order a different item. For me, it was a 3-star experience. read more

Easy 5 stars here. Couple things that really stood out. Very friendly person at register with a chill vibe. Beautiful interior with a very clean and organized spread. You can find anything you need for a picnic, meal prep or just small items. I picked up the albacore sandwich which was a good portion with very fresh ingredients. The whole grain bread was perfect. After looking around I also picked up a pot pie which they only make on Friday through Sunday. Also picked up a charred cabbage salad. Both were so good. Will be back as soon as I can! read more

My friend Jean and I had lunch on February 13, Galentine's Day and there was a beautiful little shop a couple of storefronts away called MORENA PROVISIONS. It was filled with great gifts and desserts. We shared carrot cake to finish our meal and a glass of red wine. We were really impressed by the selection and found 5 different cards that were just perfect for my two granddaughter, my daughter-in-law, my grandniece from France who we celebrated Galentine's Day with that evening with unique cards and gifts. We were so impressed that we can't wait to go back to see what's new! Fortunately we have an appointment with our acupuncturist whose office is close by next Thursday and we'll see what's new and try some of the other desserts at the shop and get more to share at home. What a funny place. The store model is upscale Seven-11, with fancy to-go ready prepped foods. There is some retail too. It's not really a cafe, and it's not really a store. Most offerings are in the cold case. They will reheat them for you. They don't have plates. The items in the case are in plastic to-go boxes. They have plastic forks. Just an incredible amount of plastic. So wasteful. The little seating areas only has a trash can, not a recycle bin. If you're sensitive to wastefulness, this might be an issue for you. The pastries and desserts looked really good. I didn't have any. I didn't look at the price. As far as the food, the portions are small and adequate. Not everything is super expensive (like some here have said) but some items are pricey and really shouldn't be because they are already prepared and there is no food service. My very small Cesar salad and a small portion of chicken salad was 16.95. Is that fair in today's market? I'm not sure. Oh, and they don't have salt and pepper, which is something I have great disdain for. Just a weird place ... I'm glad I tried it, just because it was different than my home made boring sandwich, but I'm not sure I will be back. Urbane Cafe is nearby, I've been going there. Honestly, the food (while limited in selection) is better. I'm just getting tired of it. So I was hoping Morena Provisions would be great. It wasn't. read more

The salads and vegetables are flavorful and unique - creative - is the operating word. Two weeks ago, I had a dinner for six, and Morena Provisions prepared a fabulous meal of steak, stone fruit, vegetable and goat cheese salad, and smashed potatoes that my guests raved about. We stopped by this place looking for sandwiches for lunch, and the food was really very good. Healthy and tasty as well. I had a portobello mushroom sandwich with roasted bell peppers and other goodies. My husband had the tuna fish sandwich with really great bread. Serving both Healthy and Hearty meals. Morena Provisions is my go to lunch three days a week. Sandi is always so helpful and delightful when I am placing my high maintenance orders... I have a few food restrictions and they are always willing to accommodate. The food is fresh and they constantly change the menu. My fav items are the Caesar salad, the tuna salad, and the salmon. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but this made me very upset. I have bought from here pretty frequently since it's 1 min from my home. The food is mediocre and overpriced but convenience was key for me. I placed an online order and 2 of my items were not available when I went to pickup my order. They told me " go ahead and pick 2 other items to replace " and points to possible replacements. I kindly said " I only wanted this specific item " The woman rolled her eyes and let out a long sigh and said " ok I'll refund". She looked like she wrote a note and connected it to the receipt she had. I left and waited for it to reflect on my credit card. They NEVER REFUNDED ME! I had to email 2 times and then saw it reflected after my second email. They did not reply to my email or call me back. Nothing , no apology. So rude and obviously don't care about their long time customers. I will not be back and I will let my other friends who go there know as well. Shame. read more

Food is good but the customer service is horrible. The owner is lovely but the young blonde behind the counter is absolutely clueless. She didn't wash her hands before grabbing my sandwich with her BARE hands to cut my sandwich in half ‍ Only once she noticed me watching her she quickly threw on gloves but then started helping someone else, just leaving my sandwich back there. I waited a few minutes to see if the customer service was really that bad and to my surprise she continued to complete ignore my order! Had an absolutely delicious lunch at Morena Provisions yesterday. My friend and I shared the Brandt roast beef on an in-house, freshly made, soft and tasty ciabatta and split a lovely salad of fresh greens, blue cheese, candied walnuts, radishes, radicchio and a nice champagne vinaigrette. They split the sandwich and salad for us which is always a nice touch. This was my second time there and is definitely my go-to spot when I'm in the Morena area. They also have a nice selection of prepared foods and baked goods to eat there or take home. Prices are reasonable ($14 for sandwich, $12 for salad). They have a lovely selection of gift-worthy items like beautifully packaged olive oil, capers, sweets, and other goodies. I wish I had taken some photos. It's a small space but the owner told me they have a 5,000! square foot kitchen in the back where everything is made fresh on site, and they also do catering. I had never been to this cafe before this weekend despite being a USD alumn and being a local fairly close to the area. We dropped by for a takeout lunch and we were pleased with our experience overall. The space interior is cute and they have a mini market setup with shelves selling various goods like wine and homemade granola. The service was personable and friendly as well and we decided on ordering a roast beef sandwich and a chicken club. The roast beef was a good quality and it had nice texture as did the chicken and the toppings on each sandwich added a nice crunch in texture. I would say that their baguettes are not so special and they don't toast their sandwiches well so that was the main criticism I had. While their sandwich portions are not huge their prices are fairly reasonable and I think that you get a decent value for what you pay for. read more

My favorite place for lunch. A little pricey but the food is definitely delicious and healthy. I usually prefer to check their website, which they update the daily menus, Meat-kind and salmon are expensive considering the small portion. Turkey meatloaf is the best meat option for a good price, but they don't serve it everyday. Another must try is lentil quinoa patties. Comes with tzatziki and my favorite dish in the restaurant. Acini de Pepe pasta salad is a perfect on side dish because the taste is not so strong but still delicious. If you are a pesto lover, gemelli pesto salad would be a better option.
