    Chile Verde
    Clay G.

We came here with a large group for a late lunch during the holiday season. There was one other party here, so we had our choice of the place. Even so, it felt understaffed with one guy working the front room and one person working the kitchen. This meant that the front room man had to make drinks, take orders, and also watch to see if anyone else would come in. Ultimately, he seemed a little too busy and it made things move pretty slowly. Once we did get the food, my chile verde was delicious. It really filled me up and was the perfect amount of food. Somewhat counterintuitively, I'd recommend going during a busier time of day because there's probably an appropriate number of people working so you will have less issues with getting things promptly.

Well it was very busy last night so there was a long wait. Chicken fajitas were good but they only give you 3 tortillas for a big portion of fajitas! Delicious chips with 2 different salsas are served when you're seated. The red salsa was very good. They will bring a hot salsa if you request. The restaurant seemed disorganized as empty tables for 20 minutes with many guests waiting

We've been here about four times with mixed results ranging from a five star to a one star experience. The food is always very good ranging in the 4 to 5 star range. Tonight's customer service bottomed out at 1 star. Our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us, the chef forgot about our order, and in short we had long delays for our food. Other guests who arrived after us got their food before us. My party left grumpy in response. Thankfully, the management recognized the botched customer service and sought to make it right with a 50% discount. Our waitress, who was absent for most of the meal, seemed oblivious to the fact that there was an issue but management was on top of it.. The ambiance of the restaurant is always delightful and dining outside in the courtyard was nice. So although tonight's dining experience was less than we hoped for, we will return knowing tonight's experience was an anomaly..

Carne Asada Burrito Plenty of it and tasted good

They have a Carne Asada steak. That is absolutely amazing. Always cooked nice as that barbecue taste. You can either put it in a tortilla or eat it yourself. Good experience.

The food was very tasty. Service was quick clean atmosphere. The beans were good as were all the meals we ate.

Celebrating Cinco De Mayo and always wanting to try a new spot. Almost hit a place in Coolidge, but last minute decided to go here for the Win. We were early and seated right away by a pleasant hostess. Our server, Tristan, was in point introducing himself and aquatinted us with the drink menu then followed thru promptly with house margaritas, beer, and water. After a couple minutes he was there for our order. Fantastic margaritas and food soon to follow was excellent. Tristan continued with service in every way, he gets an A+. Churros for dessert, and they were best ever. This is the experience you want for dinner, go check it out. Plenty of ambiance all throughout the place. Clean, even the bathrooms.

Chicken chimichanga with rice and beans (split to share).

We tried Casa de Mina for a late lunch date. The interior of the restaurant was clean and bright. They have plenty of seating and can accommodate large parties. We ordered chips and queso as well as a chicken chimichanga. The portions are quite large and can be shared.

It sounds like a myth, but I'm going with it. Haha! My family and I were able to make a reservation at Barrio Queen, easily via OpenTable. Their patio was available if you wanted to sit out there, but really it was closed because of the heat so we sat inside. We had a nice, spacious booth for the four of us and the hostess was super sweet and accommodated us right away. We were greeted by our server, Hanna, who was absolutely amazing. The service was so fast. She listened to everything and she was super sweet to the kids. The kids got to color while they waited for their milk and they ordered off of the kids menu. It's very family, friendly and for 8 to 9 dollars you can get your meal, drink, side, and dessert for the kids which I think is a great price. My son ordered the cheese quesadillas and my daughter had the steak tacos. They had rice and beans and fruit as their sides and a drink of milk. Later they would get ice cream for their dessert. When we went, it was about 430 on a Friday and they have happy hour between three and six so we ordered mostly off of the happy hour menu. I ordered the watermelon agua Fresca and summer fajitas off of their seasonal menu while my husband ordered tortillas, tacos, and quesadillas off of the happy hour menu. I thought the happy our menu was amazing. For five dollars each plate you can get so much food. Altogether we were in and out and about an hour. The place itself was lively. Parking is plentiful outside in the lot. Prices are beyond reasonable. The music is fun and upbeat. You have to get the guacamole. They bring over the car and make it there right in front of you and it's delicious and healthy, too! Hanna told us the way to get such flavor and everything they make is just to roast everything. Good tip. We also had Joe, the manager come over to make sure we had everything we needed. Altogether, my family and I had the best time. My husband even said this is a five star experience and my son said this is the best place ever! My daughter loved the music and was dancing the whole time. If my family is happy, I am happy. Truly a great place to spend my birthday. Also, Hanna brought over a complementary birthday dessert. A lava, chocolate cake with ice cream and strawberries on the side. Doesn't get much better than that. We will be back, Barrio, Queen! Which I believe stands for neighborhood queen. She happens to be right in between where I live and where I work so I will see you later, queen.

Unfortunately, service was very inattentive. At the beginning, our server offered water and we requested four waters, but they were never brought until we asked again. Throughout the meal, we repeatedly had to request basic items such as utensils, salsa..etc. What was most disappointing was that our server never checked back on our table to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. The next interaction we had was being handed the check, which made us feel rushed and as though the goal was simply to get us out the door. We enjoy Barrio Queen and have had much better experiences in the past, so I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that it can be addressed.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.
