Theirs was pretty good. Tender bites of chicken breast. I've had other with whole legs, etc. Not a fan. This was cooked to perfection. Rice and beans were nice as well. I took dessert to go. Came in on a Tuesday looking for a happy hour or taco Tuesday. I passed it as it's on the corner and looked empty. I took a chance that they were open. The restaurant is cute and looks like it has some history to it. I was greeted right away and sat at a two person table. There was a family for 4 eating but didn't seem to enjoy their food as they left plates full of food. I asked for a Happy Hour menu as I saw they had one posted but guess that was an outdated picture. I ordered a sprite, which tasted like syrup not enough carbonation. Then chips and salsa were sent out. Salsa red was not hot and the green was a sweet taste. I wanted to just order the tacos to taste each but wasn't able to. So I ordered the Taco de La Casa with a ground beef and carnitas tacos, which comes with beans/rice. I also ordered a shrimp taco a la carte. I was not satisfied at all. The tacos lacked flavor, the tortilla's are hand made as stated in other reviews. The shrimp taco was cold and tough. Sad to see such a beautiful building with potential not do so well on a Taco Tuesday night! Hope management will change it up and update there items to get more people in. read more

Full disclosure... I am not a big fan of Mexican food. I mean I like it, but it's not one of those foods I ever crave. This place is deserving of an investor to pump money into it and restore the restaurant and bring life back to it. It's a bit run down and needs some love. Despite that the food, drinks, and service here are great. My wife and I loved it so much we recommend it to everyone. A week later my in-laws took my kids here to eat and they all came back loving it as well. They went 7 for 7 with our family. Go enjoy a great place to eat. read more

We came here with a large group for a late lunch during the holiday season. There was one other party here, so we had our choice of the place. Even so, it felt understaffed with one guy working the front room and one person working the kitchen. This meant that the front room man had to make drinks, take orders, and also watch to see if anyone else would come in. Ultimately, he seemed a little too busy and it made things move pretty slowly. Once we did get the food, my chile verde was delicious. It really filled me up and was the perfect amount of food. Somewhat counterintuitively, I'd recommend going during a busier time of day because there's probably an appropriate number of people working so you will have less issues with getting things promptly. read more

We've been here about four times with mixed results ranging from a five star to a one star experience. The food is always very good ranging in the 4 to 5 star range. Tonight's customer service bottomed out at 1 star. Our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us, the chef forgot about our order, and in short we had long delays for our food. Other guests who arrived after us got their food before us. My party left grumpy in response. Thankfully, the management recognized the botched customer service and sought to make it right with a 50% discount. Our waitress, who was absent for most of the meal, seemed oblivious to the fact that there was an issue but management was on top of it.. Such a beautiful building! Stood at the door for quite a bit waiting to be seated. Very warm and stuffy inside. Service was slow. Our server said he'd been there only 2 weeks and was waiting on the entire restaurant. However there were only about 6 tables full. We ordered queso and had to wait to get chips. We waited for water refills. If you are looking for spicy HOT Mexican food, this is NOT your restaurant. We live nearby and want to like this place but it's a no go. Very disappointed! read more

Stopped in for lunch today, didn't realize they had a lunch menu. Very reasonable prices, with typical selection of burritos, tacos, enchiladas. I opted for the green chili chicken enchilada lunch. They happened to be out of refried beans at the exact moment we ordered. Instead of waiting our server suggested replacing it with corn. It was delicious. Our server was prompt and gracious. Celebrating Cinco De Mayo and always wanting to try a new spot. Almost hit a place in Coolidge, but last minute decided to go here for the Win. We were early and seated right away by a pleasant hostess. Our server, Tristan, was in point introducing himself and aquatinted us with the drink menu then followed thru promptly with house margaritas, beer, and water. After a couple minutes he was there for our order. Fantastic margaritas and food soon to follow was excellent. Tristan continued with service in every way, he gets an A+. We drove way out for breakfast to give this place a try, the employees were nice, unfortunately we didn't eat breakfast for two reasons, I really like my pancakes, but only with actual maple syrup, they only have the flavored corn syrup...low quality.. horrible stuff, luckily they were also offering lunch, the tortilla chips were light a crispy, the green salsa was really sweet kinda strange, but the red salsa was good, I ordered the tacos with pork and my wife ordered the torta, The tacos needed more flavor, and once again it had a very sweet flavor not what you want when eating tacos, and my wife didn't enjoy the torta, lacking flavor, sad because we were really hungry and we wanted to really like this place.. unfortunately we will not be returning. read more

So normally I leave a review if it's AWESOME. Very few and far between do I do a negative . This isn't exactly that. It's in between. My husband and I come here all the time. I was pretty impressed that it was a little busy compared to the chronic dead in the past. Turns out busier isn't better. Our waiter- let's just say this.... he was personable enough but the dude seemed like he was on adderall or something from the get go . We all said something. My daughter in law is a server so I respect however you gotta be- but this was EXTRA. Also- the drinks came out a little randomly and the choices my daughter in law picked he told us sorry weren't available in like a very SPIRITED "good news bad news" situation. (his words) what he meant was that nothing you picked or wanted is available. Like- at all. The food was alright. I'm not picky nor are my kids who were at dinner. The food is almost always alright it's no problem. Nothing to boast about for sure. But that experience was just super weird. I left a great tip like I always do but the one takeaway was- there were several drinks on the menu that were "unavailable" so if you don't stock the ingredients for your offered menu- don't put them on the menu right? The queso was amazing and the margarita was on point. I had a steak Burro de la Casa, that was okay, but I think I'll try the steak fajitas next time. Hello, Queen Creek & San Tan Valley!?!? Why haven't we heard of this place before??? It's a two story house looking building in the middle of empty lots and auto shops. The building is gorgeous. The employees were so friendly! There are lots of tables in the small space and a long bar with lots of seating. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, taquitos, carne asada and churros. We also had the house margarita and Ultra. The salsas are delicious, but the tortilla chips were over salted. They came out nice and warm, though. Everything had great flavor without any spice. We are not spicy food eaters, so perfect for us! We will definitely be back! I hope they use the fabulously huge patio for some live music or something. read more

If you're looking for authentic mexican food this is not the place. Chips and salsa were decent. I got the sopes and they were pretty decent minus the fact that my braised beef had a metallic and off-putting after taste that personally made it inedible to me and my husband. However when removing the meat the sope itself was pretty good. My husband got the shrimp fajitas and loved it! Service was fantastic! Tristin was our waiter and was really attentive to us. I really wish we were seated at a different table, however because we were right next to the door that led outside and it would frequently be left cracked open, and the freezing air would blow onto us for the majority of our dinner. Kind of sad I am only now just finding out about this place. Tucked away from Power Road, just south of Riggs, Casa De Mina is a bit hard to find, but is well worth seeking out. I'd be remiss to just say the style of cuisine is "just" traditional Mexican. However, there were a few touches that truly made this place unique. The most noticeable element that stood out, was the flavor of the shredded beef used in the tacos. It tastes like slow-cooked pot roast. It also wasn't overly salted, which is a plus in my book. The other element that delighted my taste-buds was the red sauce used in the cheese enchiladas. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but the sauce had a flavor note that kept my palate guessing. At first taste, I felt like it kind of had a slight buffalo sauce flavor to it, but the flavor kept evolving with each bite. I would say the chips and salsa were ordinary, until I tried the tomatillo (green) salsa. What made the salsa verde stand out was a sweetness that made you keep wanting another chip. I was a bit confused when I asked for more green salsa, as I was told the second batch was going to be spicier...and spicier it was. I don't know if it was extra spicy by design or just a heavy hand in the kitchen, but while the first batch had a sweet heat to it, the second batch was a bit too spicy to really enjoy the sweetness. Service started off strong, then kind of tapered off. Within 60 seconds of being seated, we had our drinks, chips and salsa and orders being placed. We didn't see our waitress again until the food came out. Fortunately, the hostess stepped-up and asked if we wanted more chips. The restaurant overall was clean and well maintained...this includes the (men's) bathroom. The property kind of reminds me of an old-world hacienda. They also have a separate, sunken dining area, which provides a bit of privacy for semi-private dining. The utensils, plates and silverware were clean and streak free and every time a new party sat down at a table, they put on new tablecloths. We really like the food here. They have great chips, and the green salsa is yum. They make good Cadillac margs and have some decent beers. We went today for their enmoladas (chicken enchiladas with mole) and it was a bit hard to eat without feeling aggravated for the poor waiter, Arlen, I believe. Boy, was he hustling and just running around. He had very little help. He was the bartender , the waiter, the server. He had 8 tables, each with 4-5 people and was doing it all alone. It appeared he was a one-man show. I felt so bad for him. There was some girl there who just didn't do anything (she looked pregnant). She was hanging back by the kitchen and not coming out and helping him. It was irritating to watch. They really need more wait staff. It's not fair to have one person doing ALL the work. Where to begin...very beautiful building with a modernized Spanish feel. We initially came here as we were looking for places to host a party. It was nearing dinner time, and the event coordinator had yet to arrive, so we took the opportunity to try the food. Like us, many others who come in after us waited 20+ minutes to even be greeted. Very bad first impression, you could tell many were getting impatient, some even left. After finally being seated, it didn't take long for our server to take our drink order, but it took about an eternity to even receive our drinks. I initially wanted chilè rellenos but was told they ran out, so got enchiladas instead. There were 5 of us and our food took long, the beans tasted foul, as if they were expired, it was awful. The enchiladas themselves lacked flavor. The prices are very steep as well. We all needed refills and it took another eternity to receive that as well. Finally after the coordinator arrived, she wasn't even able to give us all the event info we needed as were told we had to speak with the manager, who was on vacation. We had an appointment, which is why we drove all this way, so I wish the had mentioned that beforehand. Very bad service, food & steep prices.
