We recently returned from a winter holiday vacation to find our basement completely flooded with…read morewater. The musty and moldy smell was overwhelming. What a way to end a wonderful journey! Fortunately, we had a reliable contractor named Rodolfo who had done work for us before and was able to come to our rescue. Rodolfo and his team arrived the same day I called him to assess the situation. They immediately started working to air out the basement and ventilate the room. Once they had a plan, they began removing the baseboards and folding down the sheetrock to air out the wet areas. While ventilating, they also investigated the source of the leak from the outside, which was caused by a clogged landscaping drainage pipe. They unclogged the pipe and built a new one since one end was completely blocked and unable to pass. With the root cause of the problem identified, Rodolfo and his team were able to restore the basement. Over the next two months, they worked diligently to completely transform our large three-room basement. They installed new tiles and carpets, replaced the baseboards, and painted the walls. They even did all this without making the rest of the house dirty by using plastic separators and sealing off the area being remodeled. Rodolfo and his team are incredibly hard workers and have exceptional craftsmanship. We trust them to take care of any project in our beautiful home. After the basement restoration, they immediately helped us identify another leak in the roof area and took care of the water damage there as well. You could never tell that anything had happened in either of these areas. We wholeheartedly recommend R Flores Construction for any remodel, whether it's large or small. What was going on and what was happening if I had any concerns, he addressed them immediately and make sure that they met my expectations. I would use Wise Builders again and I would request Marc to be my project manager again on any future jobs that I had. He worked really well with our designer Jocelyn, I appreciated having a designer. Having a designer to bounce ideas off have her expertise on fixtures and toilets was amazing. Jocelyn did an excellent job working with me and when my daughter had some changes to this design, she was very receptive to those changes and helped me update the changes in our design The only thing that could have been better is, if the tile supplier had communicated with Marc that the tile for the guest shower floor was backlogged. Marc worked really hard to expedite the tile and was in communication with me along that process. In order to give us options besides waiting for the tile, Jocelyn, our designer gave us an alternative tile. Looking at the tile floor now I like it better than what I had originally chosen. I have done other remodeling projects and I would have to say that working with Marc has probably been one of the easiest remodeling projects that I have done. I appreciated that I did not have to be so hands-on in the project because I trusted that Marc would get it done.

He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use. I'm loving the new bathroom and recommend WISE.
