I was drawn to this cafe by its outside seating, particularly the back patio with its own cute little shed that you can slide into and work in. There's wifi there, although often very slow to that point that it's almost non-functional. I had to use my own hotspot. Besides the patio, I was draw to its menu, which included a strawberry matcha. The matcha was wonderfully sweet, with the strawberry coming through distinctly. I enjoyed it and found it neither too bitter nor too milky. I'm always seeking an Asian cafe, so I was pleased to see a few Asian-inspired items on the menu, including spam musubi. How often do you see *that* in cafes?! The strawberry matcha lattes were sooo delish. Not too heavy, not gritty at all, so refreshing and perfectly balanced (not too sweet). Perfect for the summer! my favorite hidden gem in kips bay! really affordable coffees and the dalgona latte was the perfect pick-me-up after a hike. their strawberry matcha and hojicha are insane for the price. there's plenty of seating inside and also an outdoor patio area. usually not busy enough that you can't snag a seat, even on a weekend afternoon. there's no wifi as far as I know, but the music they play is good/not too loud. think this could still be a great spot to work. read more

I was in the area before a conference and decided to stop by Mori to check out their coffee drinks. After debating if I wanted to try one of their signatures or the summer menu, I opted for the dalgona latte. I loved how the espresso and milk mixed well together and the dalgona slowly melted to give it extra coffee and bitterness. I enjoyed how it was appropriately sweet! Couldn't see where they got their baked goods but the everything croissant was very tasty and flaky with a good ratio of pastry to cream cheese filling. I appreciated how it eas actually heated up and warm for me. The space was very quiet and calming. They have a little garden area in the back with some tables, as well as a good amount of seating options indoor. Wifi was available. Staff were polite and kind. The iced dalgona latte is soo good! It's topped with melt-in-your-mouth pieces of hard caramel that melt slowly, causing the drink to sweeten over time, though it never gets too sweet. The baristas are super friendly and my drink came out almost immediately. The interior for Mori cafe has a small seating/waiting area in the main shop, but as you walk back there's a big outdoor seating area and beyond that is an indoor greenhouse working space. As I was walking I came up on this coffee shop and wanted to try it out. I had not had a coffee yet. It is small and cramped inside. No where to really move if you are not sitting at one of the few seats they have. There is an outdoor area too but it was a bit cold to be sitting outside. They serve stumptown coffee, brewed wonderfully strong and flavorful, and serve Balthazar baked goods, which they offered to heat up without asking and the croissants were fantastic. This place is my new secret hidden gem in the area (near Union Square) with plenty of seating in the back perfect for any weather because they also have a heated tent as well as tables to enjoy the Sun. They use Stumptown beans and Matchaful matcha and they do not skimp! I will be excitedly returning a bunch to try out different drinks from their extensive signature menu! July 2025: Mori - a cute narrow coffee shop located in Kips Bay on 2nd Avenue. It's a quite small, narrow cafe that seats several tables which seemed to be packed with university students and young professionals during off hours. I arrived on a hot mid afternoon when it was in capacity and was hard to walk through as the seats extended out into the walkway. I struggled to take a peak at their additional seating outdoors in their backyard, however, the space is quite convenient for those who enjoy outdoor seating. The backyard space had several tables and seats with large umbrellas to block out the scorching sun. Service was good: the cashier asked me the right questions and got my order correct which was a plain matcha tea Americano- no milk. I believe they use Uji matcha here and Stumptown coffee beans. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. Indoor/outdoor dining and takeout available. Good for working and conversing. Not quiet. Local shop. Bathrooms available. Drink up! read more

I went to Mori Coffee this past weekend! I ordered myself an iced latte with whole milk and the coffee tasted amazing. My iced latte was full-bodied, bold, an assertive flavor that wasn't diluted. I also ate a pastry item an everything croissant with cream cheese filling inside of it. I enjoyed every bite of this croissant. This is a great spot to catch up with a friend, it's dog friendly, simply enjoy your morning coffee at the shop or even a coffee date with a potential romantic partner. I like how this coffee shop has an outdoor area. Perfect for the warmer weather to enjoy your coffee/breakfast outdoors. The service was great. They were so busy Sunday morning that they forgot to make my drink so once I reminded them they apologize and quickly made me my iced latte. I wasn't bothered by this at all since they had a line out the door of the business. You can also come here to study, do homework, and plan out your week. Great service, and their iced latte had left me with an amazing lasting impression of their coffee flavor. 10/10 coffee shop. read more

This is such a cute local coffee shop that has opened up in the neighborhood. The ambiance is cozy and cute and I love that they have these large windows with barstool seating so you can enjoy your coffee and watch the world outside. It also looks like a nice place where you could work for a few hours. Service was fairly quick and everyone was nice. I got a honey oat milk iced latte and it was really good. There's plenty of seating - probably about 30 or 40 people inside with a back porch and a small front section that you can sit as well. More of a 4.5! I got the dalgona latte which came with hard caramel pieces and my friend the matcha yuzu. I thought the dalgona latte had the "right" coffee milk ratio where you taste the coffee flavors enriched with the milk and with hints of caramel but not overpowered by any. My friend said the matcha yuzu also exhibited a good ratio where the yuzu balanced well with the matcha but not overpower it (which he noted is often the case with yuzu flavored things risking tasting like lemonade). So overall we were happy with our drinks, also want to come back to try the chocolate raspberry latte and matcha strawberry ones! The only tick off was I wished there was more space but that might just be a New York issue, it became quite crowded as many people came (which may be a good sign). I would say a good place for a quick catch up or coffee chat but may get busy and loud. read more
