    Waited in front at 11:50am and completely missed the sign on the counter that says opens at 12pm. The people working were busy, but no one acknowledged me and didn't until it was exactly 12pm on the dot. Ordered a chicken katsudon, which was tasty and filling. I wish the flavor was a bit stronger, but still very good, great price and nice presentation!

    Honestly, I really like this place because of the food but they don't give you a good portion for what they charge. I stopped by this place over the weekend because I was craving their curry dishes. The Japanese chicken katsu curry is my pick and it was on point. The curry was seasoned well, the katsu was crispy and the pickled plum was yummy. The service is good. I also hope they consider serving in proper bowls when dining in like they did before the pandemic.

    I come here when I'm around the area on occasion because I enjoy -dons. This place can sometimes be hit or miss though depending on the dish and who's making it. One time I got the pork katsu curry and the pork cutlet was SO THICK and tough that I couldn't bite through it at all. Another time I got the pork katsudon and it was quite good, no complaints. This time I got the tenshindon (seafood omelette) which was a limited time item and it was pretty good. Decent amount of imitation crab and shrimp and the egg was cooked well. The thickened sauce on the omelette was pretty nice though the portion of rice to the omelette was crazy lol. Wayyy too much rice, not enough of the sauce or accompaniments to go with it. Overall, not a bad place, sometimes are better than others.

    What to eat when one is exploring Japan Village in Industry City? Japanese food, of course! There were quite a few choices in the first floor food court area. During a late weekend lunch, the place was still busy and crowded. Everything looked delicious, and I probably circled three times before deciding on Moriya. I ordered their pork and ginger don ($12). Sautéed marinated thin-sliced pork was served hot on a bed of rice and cabbage, garnished with green onions. The pork was tasty, and the veggies were fresh and crisp. A full and satisfying all-in-one meal.

    I got their katsu curry which should have been a relatively safe item. Unfortunately, the pork katsu's batter fell off the pork and the curry was salty. Typically Japanese curries adopts a sweeter profile compared to other curries.

    Excellent little eatery found within Japanese Village! Ordered their Gyu Don bowl which was very fresh!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick Japanese meal for lunch or dinner! Now off to Sake's Bar just in front of it to meet the wifey! Cheers!

    I got the pork katsu curry ($13) from Japanese Village in Industry City Food Hall. I was craving something warm/hearty on a rainy day. I thought it was a solid pork katsu curry. For $13, it was more on the expensive side for the portion.

    Hidden inside Industry City Japan Village is Moriya. Their specialty is Chicken and Pork Katsu (aka fried chicken and pork cutlet). I dropped by on a late Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Japan Village is a small Japanese themed food court within Industry City, Brooklyn. It wasn't really crowded at this time and the line was non existent, so I ordered the Pork Katsu Curry. I noticed that the Pork Cutlets were pre-cooked and stacked within a pan. While this meant my order was ready within a few minutes, it also meant that I am not going to get that fresh from the fryer taste. While it was well seasoned, each bite lacked that juicy, hot freshness you would only get right out of the fryer. (Think of french fries fresh from the fryer vs french fries that have sat under the lamp). The curry was good and really complemented the pork. Ambience/Decor: Good luck finding a table in this small food court. Food: Fried Pork. How can you go wrong, you ask? By precooking batches and not cooking it to order. TLDR: Really good Pork Katsu Curry, but could have been better if it was fried to order.

    The food I ordered, the chicken katsu curry, was tasty! I liked that it had stewed carrots and potatoes in the curry as well. The chicken was cooked very well and was a nice size portion for the price. The service was efficient and friendly enough. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. There are some tables that are marked for a specific restaurant. It can be a bit noisy. I enjoyed and would definitely come back here!

    This review is strictly for the gyu don (beef bowl) made famous by Yoshinoya which incidentally is only available on the west coast as the single NYC Yoshinoya permanently closed many years ago. The gyu don itself was pretty good but by the time I got to near the bottom of the bowl I saw a pool of oil that really disgusted me. So 4 stars for the start of the meal and 1 star for how the meal ended. Gyu don needs a little oil based sauce but bathing rice in it makes me nauseous. More reason why we should have Yoshinoya back on the east coast.

    Generous portions for the price. A few options available for chicken, pork, beef, or plain. There are authentic Japanese curry rice dishes. I recommend the chicken/pork curry over the bowls options.

    Was in the mood for some Japanese curry so I came here around 1:14pm today. Ordered the chicken katsu curry & friend got the pork katsu curry. Big portions; meats were precooked, so they just refry (still tasted good & crispy), dry rice (choice of white or brown rice) that goes well with the curry gravy sauce. There wasn't really veggies except the carrots in the curry and a small side of pickled radish. Overall good but the curry sauce lack more depth in flavor. Was sweet with a tiny kick; wish it had more flavor.

    This was one of the stalls inside the Japan Village building. It is all on the left side once you enter. I placed an order for a katsu don and it was $10. I've definitely had better before. The pork cutlets were not juicy and crunchy. It seemed to be pretty soggy and I'm assuming maybe because there was a lid on top of it and the heat was building up inside. I feel like they could have given a little more meat since majority of it was rice.

    Servings are super small, Food taste like shit, ask for replace and they reject it. I wish i can make 0 Star. Never come again.

Tamago Sando ($9) - This was my favorite item. I enjoyed the creamy chunks and the whole egg sliced in half. Eggs were not over cooked. Great balance and good flavor. White milk bread was fluffy. Tuna Mayo ($3.50) - The cooked tuna and mayo was flavorful and there is a decent amount of filling inside, but I still have my other go to place for onigiris. You have to eat this one quickly because the nori will lose the crunch since it's directly touching the rice. Eel avocado roll ($7) - I enjoyed their BBQ eel sauce, but the portion size of the eel was significantly smaller than that of the other 2 rolls. Spicy Tuna Roll ($7) - Spicy tuna was fresh and flavorful. I preferred this over the salmon avocado roll. Salmon Avocado Roll ($7) - Salmon was fresh and portion was good, but the salmon did lack the slight sweetness I enjoy from high quality raw salmon. The sushi rice for all 2 rolls was nicely made as well. There was not too much vinegar, so it did not mask the natural taste of the fish. Complemented well.

But they're always perfectly cooked and really satisfying, especially if you go in a small group. I'm also a huge fan of their nabeyaki udon noodle soup. The broth is SO. GOOD. It's above and beyond your basic udon soup, really flavorful and hearty -- I think it's the brown mushrooms. I'm not normally one to rave about udon, but it just really blew me away. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, really, which also helps.
