Morning Squeeze should be called Slow Morning. We were told it would be a 15-20 min wait for a table - no problem, but it ended up being 50 minutes. Tried to order drinks while we waited, but had to wait 20 minutes to even place the order. Once we were seated, no one came to greet us. After another 20 minute wait, we had to get up to ask the hostess if we had a server. She said she would get us water and send someone over right away. The server apologized for the delay and took our order for drinks and food. Only 3 of 4 drinks were served, we never did get water and again had to get up to ask about the 4th drink. Finally that came followed by only 3 of the 4 meals. Two of the side dishes were missing and no silverware was provided. Again, we had to get up to ask for silverware, and then again for hot sauce. When the 4th meal didn't come after 15 minutes, we again had to get up and ask the status. Throughout this ordeal we remained calm and polite with the employees, recognizing they were understaffed. When we asked to speak to the manager, he acknowledged all the issues we'd experienced and said he was watching it happen - yet never stepped in to help or apologize or take measures to correct anything. This business is horribly mismanaged from planning and staffing to ensuring a good customer experience. If you value your time, pick another breakfast spot! read more

I have never had Chicaquiles before, so I tried them. Turned out that, for me, it seemed like way too many chips. I enjoyed the perfectly poached eggs on top. My friend had the Eggs My Way and chose the scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast. The portion was generous and reported to be really good. This is an adorable place for brunch. Great it's in downtown Tempe so parking is not the best but definitely worth it. You can get everything you need that you need here to get your day started from hot cakes, oatmeal French toast, omelettes and of course bloody Mary's and mimosas the service is super friendly And very accommodating highly recommend. And not the good kind of food at Barrett I'm talking about the one at Hassy or the Student Union. Not seasoned, steak was grey on the outside and rare on the inside, hangover pork was cooked well but a dearth of taste - just underwhelming. Fries looked exactly like the stock potatoes you get at a Sysco chain restaurant. I guess it's busy because of it's location on Mill and proximity to West 6th? Stopped by for our last breakfast before heading home. We were seated immediately. Took a little before our server came but she was pleasant and helpful. I ordered a Belgian waffle with extra powered sugar and sausage links. My son ordered biscuits with sausage gravy and eggs over medium. Husband ordered eggs, bacon, potatoes and a side of pancakes. Both of them ordered a mimosa that they both enjoyed. Everything was great! I like my waffle extra crispy and they delivered. What do you do for breakfast on New Year's Eve 2021 in while vacationing in Tempe, Arizona? Call a friend who recently moved to the area from Chicago. That's what I did. It was cool. It was nice to meet a friend for breakfast here, although she picked me up at the hotel before venturing about 2 ish miles away here to Morning Squeeze. It was her pick not mine, since I don't know the area at all. And so, we were here at around 8:30am on a nice Friday morning on the eve of a new year. It was pretty cool and the restaurant was pretty packed. We parked on the main road with street parking, but we couldn't find it initially until we had to walk around to find it - closer to the AMC Centerpointe 11 cinemas and the wide-open courtyard in between them. We entered with our face masks on, especially with the COVID-19 surge still ever present in our minds these days. We ended up getting placed rather quickly next to a wall with an outlet. Perfect, I can charge my phone while we dined. Morning Squeeze is a quirky breakfast spot that isn't at all traditional. It's mixed with the old and the new to create that kind of buzz that's needed nowadays. Part coffee shop, part hip trendy, without the moodiness of Starbucks. It was definitely a nice way to spend time with my friend on a nice New Years Eve day morning 2021. I ended up getting the southwest omelet I think, which came with breakfast potatoes, along with some iced tea to set the tone for the day. The overall experience here at Morning Squeeze was neat, casual, and positive. It kind of set the tone for the day and the evening ahead, while ringing in the New Year. Dining with a friend on vacation is also neat as well, especially traveling solo, it was nice to dine with a local. The service here was friendly and fast, while being attentive to our needs. We probably spent about an hour here before heading out. The restaurant was kind of small, but larger than a standard café. It had about 15-20 tables that were occupied when my friend and I came in. I enjoyed the ambiance, which was nice and cool. Not sure if they have public Wi-Fi, but I think they had air conditioning. The food was good and delicious. More so that I had to pack up part of it for lunch since I couldn't finish it all. For the most part though, it was a delight to come here on New Year's Eve day for breakfast. If you are in the Tempe area and famished, consider coming to the Morning Squeeze for breakfast or lunch. It's the pick me up that will get your day going. I would recommend it for sure. Morning Squeeze is located at 690 S Mill Avenue in the heart of Tempe, Arizona. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing. They do cash too, but credit cards seemed more clean and protected, especially with COVID-19 still being a thing in 2022. As far as parking goes, your best bet would be available street metered parking where you can find it and also parking garages nearby as well. If you are coming here by public transportation, best to plan your route accordingly to get here early to sample the great menu items they have here. I actually ended up getting a smoothie to go, which helped me a lot while waiting for the nearby AMC Centerpointe 11 cinemas to open. I tried the four berry one and it was an interesting but delicious. Pick one up on your next trip to Morning Squeeze Tempe. The prices here are pretty reasonable, but the only thing about this place is that the hours is not all day. They open daily from 7am but close at 2pm. No dinner here, since they cater to the breakfast and lunch crowds. Come early and come often. You'll have the best time ever here. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the food and the service. 5.0 stars for sitting next to the outlet to juice my phone. 4.0 stars for the ambiance.
