I came here to study and get some coffee for motivation. The cafe itself is adorable. It feels like you're in a coffee shop in Paris. The layout and queue are a bit odd as you have to go over some railing to access one side of the restaurant. There are also tables with knick-knacks everywhere, so it was difficult to maneuver with a backpack. (Shortly after I sat down, someone knocked over items on the table). The chocolate croissant I got was very good. Buttery and flaky just like I like it. My friend got an almond croissant and she also enjoyed it. However, the coffee was awful. I got a vanilla latte and it might have been one of the most bitter lattes I had ever had. It wasn't that they didn't put enough milk in it, the beans that they use are not good. I'm sure their tea was better. I did get a lot of work done, which was my goal! read more

Campfire cold brew was average. My husband got a sausage egg and cheese and it was microwaved. I got the cinnamon bun and it was also average. Multiple girls working, all very mellow. We sat inside for a few minutes near the employees only sections. Not impressed with cleanliness. Also saw one of the workers touching her hair then dishes. read more

Went for a morning walk along the beach and decided to get some breakfast at this lovely cafe. We had the croque monsieur, spinach and feta croissant and a chocolate croissant. The croque monsieur was the best item of the bunch! It was amazing! It had a cheese sauce on top and was perfectly crisp. Spinach and feta was our number 2 pick. The flakey and buttery crust had a beautiful crunch and flavor! Chocolate croissant was good and I am glad I had it but I will be substituting something else tomorrow! See you then! read more

Stopped by for a quick bite and coffee. I got the Mainer, which had a unique blueberry flavor infused with the cold latte. It was yummy paired with a spinach pastry which was flakey and full of flavor. The pastry and coffee give off cozy vibes and is situated near Dock Square. The crepes were just ok but the strawberry matcha bubble tea was disgusting, gritty poor quality matcha powder that was too sweet. They also used popping boba instead of tapioca which was weird and gross. Cold brew coffee was incredibly weak, like water. Indoors was dingy and looked messy. Service was fine but not great. Also, $40 for two mediocre crepes, and two bad small size drinks is ridiculous. I won't ever be back. read more

We decided to sample 6 macarons and not one was good. Costing $2.95 each you would expect perfection. Nope. They were so hard, you could break a tooth. Further, the taste was overwhelming with extracts (earl grey, rose) that it was like eating perfume. read more

So glad I found this coffee shop/bakery! I was staying in Kennebunk and all the breakfast spots were closed on a Monday (ugh). There is parking to the left side that goes back, a patio with seating outside as well as small tables inside. The line to order wraps around the front so you can view what is in the case and the exit is towards the back where you pick up your order. The chocolate croissant was perfection! The ideal flaky butter layers with warm chocolate in the middle. read more

The girls behind the counter were chatting the whole time. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Listen I'm comparing this to little cafes in France, and of course this does not really compare. Yes the cafe could have been policed more by the chatting girls, but they were too busy. read more

This is a sun-filled eatery that is open off-season and thank God for that. Great casual ambiance and nice vibe. The Paris connection is aspirational. The coffee is middling and they only serve it in paper cups. The croque monsieur is heated up in a microwave. Did not try the pastries but the macaron was cold. Bottom line, for coffee go to the Coffee Roasters down the street. For sandwiches, it's a fine off-season option but not at all what the name suggests. read more

We have been coming here for five years during Prelude. This was the first time we had such an awful experience we don't think we will return. My daughter ordered banana bread and it didn't taste right. When we went to ask for another one the woman was so rude---cutting back it is banana bread. And when we said it didn't taste right she stood there until we asked for another one. She was so rude and confrontational. We heard her with another customer after us ---being rude. This is terrible for this business which has amazing pastries. But even those today were cold--even though we asked for them to be heated up. Very disappointing. I love that this coffee shop is well-located in my favorite part of town! They have plenty of coffee options and a large assortment of sweets and snacks to accompany (including some gluten free and vegan options!). I loved the Mainer (blueberry maple) latte I had today. It was satisfying sweet to enjoy after lunch and was great to get a hot coffee to enjoy as we walked through town and enjoyed the amazing fall New England weather today. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, and plenty of parking in the area, so it's super easy to make an afternoon of your stop to this cafe! read more

I have a little story to tell about why EVERYONE SHOULD SUPPORT this locally owned coffee shop. I've always liked this place for the great iced coffee and cute atmosphere. Recently they started carrying BamBam Bakery products ( fresh local baked in a dedicated Gluten free facility and labeled for other allergies ) since my daughter has Celiac disease and other food restrictions that made this a go to spot for us to pick up treats ( and coffee ) So today is Halloween and we stopped in mid morning to pick up a few BamBam treats since the Cafe had said they would be getting more in on Thursday morning. When we got there the BamBam stuff hadn't arrived yet which i totally understand happens. One of the owners was there and went way above and beyond to make sure my toddler had a special Halloween treat that was safe for her to eat. Not only did the he arrange for the BamBam stuff to be brought to our house as soon as it arrived so I could pick out a couple things he made sure there was some special Halloween options. Halloween is a tough holiday when you have a small child with eating restrictions and Mornings in Paris made this moms day a little easier and made my 3 year old jump for joy when she saw the cupcake she could have after trick or treating. So if you want great coffee, pastries and enjoy supporting a local business with great customer service then Mornings in Paris is the place. read more

Stopped by for a quick coffee while in the area. I ordered a hot Emerald Cloud and my partner got an iced coffee. My drink was the star of the show for sure- it was delicious. Great spot for coffee creations and French pastries. Was a bit confusing since they had a sign that states "all day old items are $1". But we paid full price for items we got (cinnamon spice cake and banana bread loaf) and these were at least a day old. Very cold and not fresh, tho not stale either. Just a bit firm and not soft. Definitely not baked that morning. So we were confused at best. For the price we paid, would have expected far more fresh fare. Not sure we'll return. read more

When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and wonderful customer service even in this crazy pandemic. Well waiting for my chai and a yummy honey latte and snacking on some house made traditional macaroons I was greeted by the owner with a wonderful story of how her husband and her had opened this amazing coffee shop in Maine!!! Such a lovely spot! Cade tables with outward facing chairs just like any street cafe in Paris. Delicious pastries, hot chocolate, and crepes available for pickup just a few steps away in an adjacent storefront. Makes for a beautiful start to a Kennebunk morning. read more

I waited in a very long, slow moving line and when I asked for my drink order, I was told that I would have to wait to place it at the register. This did not seem very efficient as the space is small and it gets crowded. I made it a point to ask the woman at the register if the matcha chaga latte had added sugar ( If it did, I would have asked for something else or asked to see if they could adjust it). I was assured that there was no added sugar. I walked out with my drink and after the first sip, I threw it out. I could not taste a hint of matcha. Back story: Once upon a (long, long) time (ago), I used to frequent the Mornings In Paris on Exchange Street in Portland. I had many a first dates there, and it was my go to stop for a hot cup or tea when bopping around that part of town. As a matter of fact they carried a tea called World Peace (I thought it was romantic and whimsical that you could order a "cup of world peace"). I bought a pound. This was quite a few years ago. Current day: When my friend and I decided to play tourist in Kennebunkport, I knew I needed to kick off the day with an iced coffee. I totally forgot that there was a MIP here, and was delighted to stumble upon it. As soon as we entered I blurted out without thinking, "DO YOU STILL HAVE WORLD PEACE?!" A nice girl behind the counter smiled and assured me they did. "IS THE TA I BOUGHT YEARS AGO STILL GOOD?" She assured me it was. I breathe out a sigh of relief. All was well with my world. And it still is knowing this gem of a coffee place is still around (and that I can get more World Peace when I finally run out - I had been previously hoarding it thinking that I'd never get any again). The atmosphere is homey, woodsy, inviting, and feels like a little slice of Europe! I'm not sure what my friend got (I was in a happy little world of my own for a moment), but I settled on an iced redeye with soy. Kind of basic, I know, but it's a pretty fab drink to use a benchmark for other coffee shops - MIP's hit the spot just perfectly, FYI. The wonderful girl at the counter did inform me they could make me World Peace an iced beverage if I wanted; she also patiently and thoughtfully went through many, many of their specialty drinks because there were so many delicious options to choose from. If you're a lover of macarons, know that MIP also carries a vibrant and spectacular variety, along with other baked goods and sweet treats. I also love that they've got one of those "give a book, borrow a book, take a book" areas in their cafe. Absolutely worth the stop whether you're a local, a local playing tourist for a day, or a tourist in need of a pick-me-up or quiet moment! read more
