The Morongo Valley Cafe was the perfect spot to visit after a long weekend at Coachella Music Festival. They seated our larger party of 9 comfortably and quickly. The menu had a variety of options. The food I received was the 1/2 order of french toast with eggs and bacon on the side. A 10/10 for me. Another fan favorite for the table was the Banana Crunch French Toast. Good to share for 2! As for the cinnamon roll, I had it taken to go and it warmed up well in the microwave. For me it was a 6/10, but still worth it and probably better fresh to eat. This place was near where I was staying and I honestly came here for the french toast after looking at pictures and it did not disappoint! Just a nice, quaint, spot with fresh tasting food. My partner and I also liked the salsas we had with our eggs and hash browns. It was not busy while we were there so service was quick and staff was friendly. Did I hike @Old Glory Peak nearby and this cafe is Conveniently located nearby on the main road. So coming here was planned. Of course we looked it up on Yelp before going ahead, so had an idea of what to order. Upon looking at the menu, it was nice to see a good amount of selection for anyone with certain cravings. I already had it in my head the Banana Crunch French toast which completely hit the spot. They offer a half size but I'm glad I stuck with the full size which completely satiated my craving. It is small inside but that is what makes it quaint and fits perfectly with the aesthetic of the town. There was one other party in there when we arrived but before we left. I would say it was at seventy five percent capacity by the time we finished. It being small, you'll be close sitting close to other people and hear their conversations. Not really a big deal for us. It seemed as though it was just one server and one cook and another guy bussing and watching over the place. But makes sense that's all they need for the size of the cafe. Service was good, inside is nice. Food selection is good. Wouldn't mind coming back and trying something else, even though the French toast I got was great. Only thing was the tuna melt was whatever. Stayed in morongo valley at an animal sanctuary and came upon the morongo valley cafe. It's a small restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. I was very happy we stopped. The restaurant doubles as a museum with lots of pictures on the walls. As for the food, I am picky about my pancakes, as they are almost always too dark. Not here. The pancakes were perfect as were the eggs, fruit and crisp bacon. So if you come that way you should give it a try. read more

The stars are simply for the service. The 2 female waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The food was horrible. Hands down the WORST country fried steak I've ever had. There was almost no breading and what was there was soggy. The meat was hard. Literally tough to cut through. I only took 2 bites of that. My boyfriend agreed how terrible it was. The country potatoes were plain. Most places cook them with onions and peppers, not here. Barely seasoned. The eggs and toast were fine. But I mean, it's eggs and toast. This diner is a cute hidden spot that had quality food at an affordable price. We got there around 12:30pm on a Sunday after a Joshua Tree hike. The service was friendly and super welcoming. They quickly got us drinks and took our order. The service was fast. I ordered the veggie burger with fries and scarfed that thing down. The food was worth it. The fries were a little overcooked. I would visit here again. The breakfast spots at Joshua Tree were super packed. One place required a 1 hour wait. Not here though. We were in and out in about 30-45 mins. read more

Went for breakfast on Sunday. We ordered coffee, grapefruit juice, and two breakfasts. I got the eggs and toast, and my boyfriend had the steak breakfast. They also offered us free, homemade salsa to accompany our breakfast and we were given a choice of three. We tried all of them, and the green tomatillo one was a standout. Everything was cooked well. The cafe was very clean and we had really great service. They even offered me a coffee to go, which was a nice gesture. Overall, this was a very nice experience and we will definitely be back. read more

Ate here this morning. Both of us had the eggs, home fries, country fried steak, and toast. The little place feels comfortable and has a nice staff. Service was pleasant and efficient. Eggs were perfect and home fries were good enough, but unremarkable. Unfortunately the country fried steak wasn't. It was beat to death and had no batter coating. Still, it was edible and not offensive as chopped steaks go. Next time we go, we'll try the bacon and sausage. We liked the place and will go again. Came here for breakfast and we enjoyed it. I ordered and country fried steak with hash browns, eggs over easy and sourdough toast. My wife got one egg with bacon, potatoes and toast. I was not a fan of the country fried steak because it wasn't battered in anything and I thought that's how they did it here but the family on the next table next to us ordered the same and there's came out like the traditional country fried steak that we all know. I stopped here on the way to Joshua tree State Park because of the yelp reviews. And thank you again fellow yelpers for not letting me down. I've had some really bad experiences ordering a vegetable omelettes in the past from other places. This is probably the best vegetable omelette I've ever had! It had mushrooms that were fresh, spinach, there were fresh tomatoes, peppers, and onions that were slightly sautéed but they still had their crunch to them. You have a choice of home fries or hashbrowns or you could get cottage cheese or fruit. I opted for the cottage cheese but the omelette was so good I finished the whole thing is it in that room for the cottage cheese. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because their coffee was very very weak. Especially since I had just flew in and I've been up since 2 AM to catch my flight I needed some real coffee and it just did not hit the spot read more

The menu swears the biscuits and gravy are delicious and the menu did not lie!! Talk about fluffy, warm, perfect joy on a plate! Crispy bacon, crispy potatoes. This place is good eats for sure. But don't sleep on the green salsa!! If you have ever ever ever found any kind of happiness for having green salsa, try this one! It's not super spicy but is so flavorful. They make it here and it's absolutely amazing. The servers were so nice to us. We came on a Tuesday around 10:30am so it was really mellow but never empty! Cannot recommend enough!! read more

Passing thru on highway from stargazing at Goat Mountain. Pulled in bec there were lots of cars in lot and we totally love local places. It's 8 am and we are famished...the biscuits are made on premises...they were great...my friend got the biscuits and gravy, big thumbs up. I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and shredded potatoes...it was meh but made better slatheted in hot sauce and ketchup...the downside was the potato, it was ice cold-to-lukewarm and barely fried, had a dusty taste, needed crisping up and definitely needed butter...i should have sent it back, but too hungry and i hate to complain...skip the potatoes...the eggs were too firm.....but hey, the coffee was good, nice and strong, so all is forgiven. I got a biscuit with my order, which was great in a thick doughy way, was about the size of a cupcake. I loved the ambiance, there's a quirky horseshoe table for singles to sit at, a sort of counter much like in a diner and cute birdhouses hanging from the ceiling...and there were nostalgic framed pics of the area back when...cool.
