Great Steakhouse and great ambiance. We were celebrating our in-law 50th wedding anniversary by anniversary. Appetizers were good, but the best were the bacon slab with its smoky flavor and the very cheesy onion soup. Steaks were very tender. Ribeyes are about 1-2 inch width.

Have been told to come to to Morries for years and finally made it Classic steakhouse vibe, dark and elegant inside with a large wine room and decent size bar area. Service was good, efficient but only came over if we made eye contact Ordered a ceasar salad and it was good. Typical presentation, no anchovies but very good. Got the 12 oz Delmonico cut ribeye. Was cooked closer to medium than medium rare but very delicious. Got the organic carrots and the loaded hash browns. Carrots were good and huge. Has browns were also very good, cheesy goodness! Had an old fashioned and was made well, a classic cocktail. Added red wine with the steak and was good as well Really enjoyed it, a very classic steakhouse experience

My husband and I have been here twice now, eating at the bar a year apart! The bartender was incredible, she remembered us from last year, and make great recommendations and drinks. We absolutely loved the creamed corn and marrow suggestions. We had no idea what the bone marrow tartare was going to look like-- it was phenomenal! A lot of the food was local and clearly identified on the menu. People at the bar were all friendly and the restaurant was lovely. Will absolutely be back next year when I make our way back though South Dakota.

The food is second to none! I had the tomahawk steak with all the trimmings and my sister and niece both had the Japan A-5 Wagyu, along with sautéed Brussels sprouts, creamed jalapeño corn and lobster mashed potatoes. Oh, and the delicious bread and butter is a MUST!

Decided to go here last night with my Mom to celebrate my birthday. Sat in the bar area which was significantly quieter than the dining area. Everything about this place was wonderful! Our waitress, Erin, was very pleasant and made an excellent recommendation for changing up the crepes for dessert! We had steaks, the loaded hash browns, carrots and asparagus. Everything was EXCELLENT! As we were leaving, we looked more closely at the four photos in the entry way and saw that the "Morrie" who this restaurant is named after, was none other than Morrie Richards! We knew Morrie and his wife, Florence, when they lived on a farm, South of Ipswich. We walked back in and mentioned this to find out that their granddaughter is associated with the restaurant! What a wonderful connection to an excellent restaurant! I am back from PA once or twice a year and look forward to coming back to eat at this amazing restaurant!

I only gave the restaurant a 5-star rating because a 6-star rating isn't an option. My friend Matt and I both ordered the "Japanese Wagyu Filet" cooked to a medium rare which was literally cooked to perfection! NEVER in my 70 years on this earth had a steak of this caliber! Very buttery in flavor and so tender you could cut it with a fork! I had a side order of creamed spinach, which was better than the one they have at the PALM in Las Vegas, which I've raved about for years. It was that browned cheese on top that did it. Also, the "Lobster Mashed Potatoes" with chunks of fresh lobster was to die for! Now, let me get away from food for a moment. Our server, JASMINE, was a delightful young lady. She always saw when we needed something but didn't do the "hover over you thing." She was in the top 5 servers I had over all these years. Hurry and let her take care of you before she leaves Sioux Falls for her new home in New England to fulfill her dreams in the medical field. She will be an asset wherever she goes, and management should give her a deserved departure party!

We were looking for a nice place to have a bison steak, but instead we found the perfect place for bison AND Chilean sea bass. The atmosphere was upscale, yet casual. Our server, Will was accommodating and very helpful. We were visiting the area from Indiana, so his "must see/do" list was a huge bonus! We started with a bottle of wine. Will provided several recommendations, so we went with the Davis Bynum Pinot Noir. It may have been the best Pinot Noir I've ever tasted! The bison was good, but the sea bass was AMAZING! It just melted in your mouth! My husband also really enjoyed the jalapeño cheese grits! The entire experience was very good!

    DEATH BY CHOCOLATE CAKE

This should be a destination for anyone who loves good food. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The food is delicious. It was so good I forgot to take pictures. We got the blackened walleye and the bison ribeye with the forbidden risotto and the baked potato. Every thing was delicious. We will definitely be back!!

This is one place I've been wanting to try since I moved to Sioux Falls. Did not disappoint. The food was not as good as Hells Kitchen in Vegas but Morries Steakhouse is the Hells Kitchen of Sioux Falls. Atmosphere and Decor are decent. Good steakhouse vibe. Although our booth had rips in the fabric. Waitress Kali was good. Attentive, friendly, not as talkative as I like but definitely a professional at her job. We started with an appetizer of Poutine, a Margarita and some cocktail they ran on special. My Margarita was 5 star. So strong and very delicious. Top notch all the way. My wife's drink was excellent and the Poutine was so delicious. Then came the entrees of Crab Cakes, 100 layer lasagna, French onion soup, Chicken rice soup and Caesar salad. Best dish of the night without question was the French Onion soup. So amazing. The lasagna, crab cakes and chicken rice soup were very good. No complaints for sure. The Caeser salad was not good. Lettuce was wilted, little dressing..just not good. For dessert we had the Death by Chocolate cake. Really good. Nothing that knocked my socks off but really tasty. Portion sizes are huge at this place. We walked out with a bag full of leftovers. With a 20% tip, the bill for 2 was $200. Worth it in my opinion. We will be back to try the steaks. Morries was so good it took over my #2 spot of favorite Sioux Falls restaurants. Now it's Granite City, Morries and La Plaza Fiesta. You won't be disappointed going to Morries. A must try.

One look at the menu was an epiphany... a rare, if not the only, time I could not find a single item I didn't want to order. The ambience is rustic central plains frontier. The food is expertly prepared and the wood-fired and house-smoked menu items were the highlight. HIGHLY recommend! (BTW, I had the smoked biscuit with a side of bourbon glazed Brussel Sprouts..Mmmm)

March 2026 Sioux…read moreFalls, South Dakota This place has a beautiful ambience. You enter and there is a warm and welcoming fireplace to the right when you enter. Straight ahead by a large open bar, you can see the meat on the rotisserie. Restaurant is large and cozy. Dark woods, modern lighting, many booths with ample seating. Floors are concrete and many nature pictures line the walls. This place has everything from handheld sandwiches to salmon and rotisserie chicken, a broad selection of appetizers and soups and salad salads. I ordered a Guinness draft and it came in a very large glass. Many tap beers to choose from. We ordered the woodfired chicken wings, a rotisserie chicken, which is accompanied with mashed potatoes and cornbread, and my husband also ordered a cup of corn chowder. The chicken wings I thought were delicious. The flavor is smoky and pepper. Not your traditional wing, but it includes the drumstick and the wing. You get six in total. It comes with blue cheese and ranch. My husband did not care for the wings. He thought they had too much of a pepper taste. My only concern was they were not served hot. They were barely warm when they got to my table. The blue cheese dressing was basically ranch dressing with a few dry blue cheese crumbles mixed in. Not a good flavor. The corn chowder was very mushy. It had the texture of baby food. He did not enjoy it. It also was served warm and not hot. Rotisserie chicken comes out with a thigh and drumstick of dark meat and white meat. However, the chicken is very dry. Taste like rotisserie chicken should taste But nothing special. The mashed potatoes are not creamy. But clumpy. They are red skin and I love when the skin is left on the potatoes. However, they taste like a baked Redskin potato with no salt, pepper, or butter. Flavorless. The cornbread has good flavor. But again, try. There is no butter to accompany it. Might taste good with some honey or butter on the side. I love the look and coziness of the restaurant. I wanted it to be fantastic. I was extremely disappointed in the food. I tried to make it work, but with the cold food and the lack of flavor, it was a big miss. When you take a bite of rotisserie chicken, and then you need to take a drink before taking your next bite of food, you know it is dry. When in Rome do as the Romans do. When in Sioux Falls Falls do not ROAM to this restaurant. I would not come back to this restaurant. I would give it 2 stars for the food. However, Darla was our waitress and she was very kind and attentive. She gets a five star rating. But the good service does not balance out the awful food.

This WAS our go-to steakhouse in the Sioux Falls area…read more And yes, I emphasize "was" sadly. Located about thirty minutes north of Sioux Falls in the small farming community of Flandreau, this little steakhouse became one of those hidden gems my husband and I found ourselves returning to whenever we had a serious craving for a good steak without dealing with the more corporate chain atmosphere back in the city. Unfortunately, the owner sold the restaurant earlier this year, and as of now no new buyer has reopened it. Which honestly makes me sad. There was something wonderfully unpretentious about this place. It was tucked quietly into a residential part of town near the local athletic fields and open farmland that stretch out with that classic small-town South Dakota feeling. You wouldn't necessarily expect one of the state's better steak experiences to be sitting there so modestly among homes and fields. But somehow, that made it feel even more authentic. The service was always warm, friendly, and deeply local in the best possible way. You never felt rushed or treated like just another table. It had that comfortable small-town hospitality where people genuinely seemed happy you came. And the steaks? Consistently very good. Were they the greatest steaks we've ever had in our lives? No. But they were reliably well-prepared, flavorful, satisfying, and honestly far better than many of the larger steak chains around Sioux Falls. The kitchen understood proper preparation and seasoning without overcomplicating things. There is a reason this place developed such a strong reputation over the years. The restaurant earned statewide recognition and frequently appeared in discussions of South Dakota's best steakhouses, drawing people from well beyond Flandreau itself. Including us. We happily made the drive many times because we knew we were likely going to leave happy. I truly hope someone eventually reopens the place and preserves what made it special. Small-town restaurants with genuine character, loyal followings, and heartfelt hospitality are becoming harder and harder to find.
