My sister ordered a salad that was totally passed it's expiration date, the manager came over to explain it was a tossed salad, I guess soggy and rusty lettuce is "tossed ". What ever dude. Everyone else had a good dinner, but not worth going back. I ordered my chicken sandwich plain, got ranch dressing on it. I don't like ranch dressing so the bun went to the side. I have been diagnosed with copd and its in the end stages of the disease, which makes it hard to eat. I was craving outback, but couldnt tolerate the experience of dining in. I called and ordered the meal i wanted and mentioned i was dying and the management and staff covered the meal. I am floored at this establishments kindness and generosity and the food was 5 star. This spot is doing take out or dine in. Staff are wearing masks but they're seating guests behind each other almond the wall in booths, which doesn't comply with being 6 ft apart. I wish i werent leaving one star because i genuinely like Outback but the last few times weve ordered, it's been so disappointing. my husband ordered an 18oz steak and after cutting off all the inedible fat, the steak was about 6oz and it was way overcooked. My supposed to be medium-rare steak was also overcooked and the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through. The blooming onion was soggy and ghe bread was hard as a rock. we paid almost $100 for our meal and it was just not worth it or enjoyable. This is the worst experience we've had at this Outback. Ordered 8oz sirloin surf and turf, and the grilled shrimp. Sides included asparagus, sweet potato, baked potato and broccoli. Everything was Luke warm at best except the sweet potato, which was too hot to eat. The steak looked pan fried and maybe cooked earlier in the day, then warmed up. Asparagus was mushy. The shrimp was also Luke warm at best. Waitress took the brunt of our complaint and never saw or heard from management. They comped us 50% and a dessert. Some guy brought out the brownie dessert with ice cream in to go containers, all separate, in a huge bag, asked if that was for us, dropped it, and left. We were staying in town for a while so we took it out and ate inside. Left the balance of the 50.00 gift card for a tip. Hope she got it. Won't be going back....EVER. So disappointed in our visit tonight. Our waitress was great so we didn't ever complain about the food... The chili was so spicy my grandma couldn't even eat it. She also asked for a cup and they gave her a bowl. I got a Cobb salad and it was very cheap lettuce and cold crispy chicken. It was not great. 2 people in our party ordered the new shrimp meal and they were cold and very slimy. One couldn't even eat her meal. Someone else got a sirloin steak and it was charred on the outside and close to raw on the inside. He sent it back to get cooked more and it helped a little bit but still bright red on the inside instead of med well like ordered. There were also tendons all in the steak and it was terrible. I couldn't tell if it was just the taste of the breading or if their deep fryer grease was old and burnt, but it just wasn't good. Everything was extremely salty, except the broccoli, the broccoli was pretty good. I had the Outback fried chicken and I had to remove the breading because it was just too salty and burnt tasting. We stopped here after an all day drive. The facility is located among other restaurants in this strip of road in Sioux Falls. The service was good. There were not too many customers considering it was late into the evening plus a Tuesday. All in all, a good experience. I ate the tilapia, which was good and full of crab meat. My wife ordered the salmon, which she says was okay. My daughter enjoyed her herb crusted chicken.
