Ambiance was nice, but not great. Service was great. Food brings the rating down from 5 to 4. I had the Wagu Steak, and my wife had a Boneless Ribeye. Both were over priced in my opinion, and the Ribeye was by far better in every respect than the Wagu. The Wagu had very little flavor, and was not melt in your mouth tender as it is described as in most reviews from other places. Don't waste your money, get the Ribeye. read more

Got my usual Delmonico Ribeye Morrie style for dinner tonight along with some jalapeño cream corn and the table shared some lobster mashed potatoes. Also tried a peanut butter cake for dessert. Updated: Just in case you haven't been around, it isn't Foley's anymore and it is straight up awesome now. Food is awesome and cocktails are the bomb. New management pulled the location out of the sad tailspin it was in and brought it back to prominence. The bartenders are awesome and it is worth having your meal at the bar just to talk to them and see them work. Almost makes me regret my previous post. ........ Foleys. Everyone in Sioux Falls talks about this place like it is the greatest. But honestly, both my tastebuds and my wallet were left disappointed. Don't get me wrong. They have an excellent wine list and the custard crepes are seriously awesome... However, the steak that I had there recently was just OK.... Now I can forgive a sub-par steak every now and again, but really for over $40 it shouldn't be such a disappointment. I spent almost half as much at a little steak place in Norfolk (see my Black Cow/Fat Pig review) and it was significantly better in just about every respect. The appetizers I have tried were pretty sad. The lettuce wraps were awful (I think you can get PF Changs now in the frozen food aisle and be better off) and the tuna tar tar was ruined with the over-zealous use of teriyaki. I remember the waiter coming around and asking us how the lettuce wraps were. When we expressed our lack of enthusiasm he seemed to be confused and taken aback... Who was I to question the food at Foleys? Obviously, I was just wrong... But in his defense, the guy probably hadn't been to PF Changs and tried the lettuce wraps there. The brightest point on the menu that I've encountered after several visits is the Chilean Sea Bass. Which was (in my opinion) pretty solid. The waitstaff has been hit or miss, so it depends upon who you get and how busy they are. On one occasion the service was spectacular... I wish I remember her name, but she really did an excellent job. Sadly though, I think the food is over-rated. What a wonderful meal! I dined here with colleagues and we had a great time. After driving several hours we needed a nice meal. I was slightly (okay....very!) underdressed in a t-shirt and Toms shoes. Haha! But it didn't seem to be a big deal. If I do go back in the future, I will definitely change clothes before dining here. It seemed to be the place to celebrate special occasions like anniversaries. I had some prosecco, which was served in a tiny bottle. So cute! I selected the petite filet, and it was cooked perfectly. We all shared a few sides. My coworker shared a bite of her pork chop and it was fabulous. No room for dessert, sadly, but it looked lovely at the tables that did have it. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I was a bit apprehensive looking at the Yelp reviews. I have to say, I honestly do not understand the poor reviews. It was a bit dark in the restaurant but that is what a quality steakhouse atmosphere usually is. The food was great and our waitress Laurie (spelling?) was great. I ordered the Delmonico cut Ribeye and it was soooo flavorful and cooked perfectly how I ordered it. My wife had the Walleye and it was great as well. I recommend that if you are in the mood for a great meal, come visit! You won't regret it. read more

Their stake was one of the best, I have tried. The place was nice and the atmosphere was nice too, but our waiter was not. I do understand we're all humans and we might have a stressful day, but she was way friendly with her other tables. Maybe it was because of our young age and she did not take us that seriously. Our waiter's name was Bailey, and she took forever to check on us. We had to wait 15min for her to run our cards. Had a great meal last night. We're on day 13 being in SF for family staying at Sanford Medical, so we have had our share of restaurant meals in the past 2 weeks. Morries was definitely a highlight. Had the Wedge Sirloin salad and it was delicious. Very filling, even for a salad. Great wine list and interesting cocktail options. What took our experience to a new level was our server Lori. Great steakhouse! The apps were also delicious, and I loved the bone marrow. Service was very considerate and our waitressshad a great personality. We've been about 5 times and always get the same thing. The zabuton steak is tender and flavorful. The seabass is the best that I have had. Coconut shrimp are outstanding and not frozen ones like Red Lobster. French onion soup is the bomb. Margarita is smooth and strong and good selection of beer. Service is fantastic always and the atmosphere is nice but not too stuffy. Most people are casually dressed and some dressed up. Hey its' Sioux Falls so come as you are. Highly recommend a reservation for the dining room. Not sure why folks rush the lounge because I asked and there is no happy hour and the menu is the same. Hostess said the only difference is the lounge has tv's and it can fill up within 5 minutes of opening. I prefer the restaurant. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

Went to Morries with the husband for dinner before a show. We had overall a great meal. Appetizer: Bacon - this was really thick, good bacon with polenta underneath, very good for sharing. I had the wedge salad which was very good but husband's creamy chicken rice soup stole the show. Meal: I had the ribeye which I normally love, but this one wasn't as good as other steaks I've had. I had the creamed spinach. It was cooked medium rare as requested. Husband had the sirloin and the creamed jalapeno corn - this was awesome. We had a few drinks - I thought the drink prices were a bit high ($13 for an old fashioned - most places in town charge about $10 for these). The ambience is very nice. Alright children, listen up, if you think there is a better steakhouse in Sioux Falls, I will straight up fight you. I'm 4'6" weigh 85 pounds and have brittle bone disease and i'm willing to die to protect this joint's honor! I frequent the keys and Morrie's oysters rockefeller effing merc all of the 46 different restaurants I've tried down south. Braised short rib makes my clam basher burst through the seams of 4 ply carhart overalls now just thinking about it. Lobster mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and pretty much every ribeye on the menu are all worth going to prison for. Like for a nickel but not a dime. The food was excellent, and the service was superb! I ordered the bacon-wrapped fillet - cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth! My Caesar salad was excellent. Everyone in my group was pleased with the food. The server was not obtrusive, but very present when needed, as was the busboy, keeping plates cleared and water filled. The background music is subtle and adds to the ambiance. The wine list is extensive - from reasonably priced per glass wines to WOW! Took my husband's boss and wife to dinner while they were in town because our first experience there was excellent. However we were very disappointed with our second visit. We ordered the meat and cheese board appetizer, a ribeye, a sirloin, the seabass and the Morrie's ribeye. After raving to our guests about how wonderful the food was no one enjoyed their meal this time. The waitress was extremely well-versed on the menu, explaining where items originated from and which items were done in-h came back to explain the delay or apologize. I had the bacon wrapped filet. It was extremely tender, probably the most tender steak I've had in a long time. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. If the bacon had not infused so much smoke into the steak, it would have been perfect. However, it was difficult to finish the steak with so much smoke flavor. The "smoked bacon slab" should not be missed! For our entree we shared the Morgan Ranch Wagyu Bone In Ribeye, we had to as it's 32ozs. . WOW! What do would expect when you're in the middle of the country. First class menu highlighted with dry aged prime quality beef. I recommend the amazing porterhouse severed Oscar style. One word: mediocre. Okay, okay, the service was impeccable, and the dirty gin martini, extra olives, was enough to turn 10 bad days into good ones. Yes, it was that good. Otherwise, however, I was sadly unimpressed. French onion soup...meh. Sure, it was hot, beefy, onion-y, with a large melted slab of gruyere. So what. It was good, but not GOOD. Not $10 GOOD. Okay, filet oscar: lump crab meat from the little tinfoil bags, if you know what I am talking about. Leg meat, dark, stringy, not at all tending towards the "lump crab" that the menu promised. And COLD. Really? However, I WAS distracted by the exquisitely seared filet. 4 inches tall is not a stretch, and perfectly crispy seared crust with a gorgeous burgundy rare center. Just warm to the palate--Mmmmm, lovely. Bearnaise on the side. Left it there. Certainly from a box, and I lamented that for about a minute until I decided the filet was so good it didn't even need accompanying sauce. Bread service offered 12 grain or sourdough baguette. Not great, not terrible. I would go back, without hesitation, for that very drinkable martini and the filet. Still makes my mouth water...anything else, choose Tre (owned by same affiliates---cheaper but better on the whole) or Bros. Brasserie (small, former cafe but serves delightful selection). read more

This used to be my favorite place to eat while in Sioux Falls for business, I thought they had great steaks, some of the best I had anywhere. However its clear they quality is dropped substantially based on my last two visits. The service continues to be very good and the sides, including vegetables, salads are also very good. But clearly they are buying a lower grade of meat and the steaks remind me of something you would get at outback but for a much smaller price. Definitely not worth the money they are charging. Huge light fixtures. Bottom line: If your going to charge that much, it better be excellent food with some flare. It seemed they took a mashed potato recipe straight out of JOC. We were just passing through so the hotel recommended this place. The atmosphere was a little too "tall" or ahead of itself, but not a turn off. The food was very good. I got the 22 oz sirloin and was very pleased; however, the garlic mashed potatoes on the side were fairly plain for a $28 meal. Big O had the Foley Salad (salad with steak, $20). Foley's is my favorite upscale restaurant in Sioux Falls. I frequented Foley's while on celebratory dinners with my wife or while at a business dinner and I was never left with anything bad to say or hungry. I have had their steaks numerous times and it has always been prepared perfectly (I suggest adding sauteed mushrooms) The Foley's potatoes (a cheese hashbrown style loaded baked potato) is a must have side. Servers and bartenders are always courteous and helpful with questions. The only downfall is this place is rather expense and I can only afford to eat here a couple times a year. read more

I was empresses by his knowledge of wine and the recommendation of the house cab was spot on. I had the salmon on the cedar plank and it was cooked perfectly. I loved the broccoli it was the perfect addition. I started with a Cesar salad and it was ok I wasn't a fan of onion and tomato on a Cesar salad its not prepared correctly that way. read more
