Untappd 241 I gotta show some chain love Food and beer were great I decided to go to Lupulin in Sioux Falls to get their Untappd Badge. Little did I know that Ruby Tuesday next door has their own Untappd Badge. I am not aware of any other Ruby Tuesday's that have one. They also have an Untappd Board to boot. Get your name up there in lights! Bartender was super friendly and attentive. My food was solid. No complaints whatsoever. I got the New Orleans Seafood dish which is Tilapia with shrimp in a creamy sauce. Normally comes with zucchini but I was allowed to substitute broccoli. Would definitely get it again. Walked in, were seated immediately, place is clean, smells good. We walk by the AYCE salad bar, looks amazing which pleases the wife. (Happy wife, happy life), server seems a little flustered. Came to find out, it's only her 3rd day. (So understandable), she does her best to accommodate us, runs and gets drinks, asks bartender about special drink requests, drinks are brought. She takes our order. The dish I ordered, they're out of (big bbq beef ribs), bummer, but okay. I look at the menu and decide on something else. Food is brought, she goofed on my order, forgot the baby back ribs. That's okay, she fixes it. No problem. The ribeye is amazing. A PERFECT medium rare, the crispy shrimp left a lot to be desired. Ribs are brought out. They're amazing. Food all the way around was superb. A discount was given for the mixups, I didn't require that, but it was nice. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive--our server barely checked on us, and we had to ask multiple times for basic things like water and napkins. On top of that, the food was terrible. I had my grandchildren with me; they were the LAST to get drinks and food after I had to ask the waitress repeatedly. Never came back to refill our drinks or ask if I wanted more soup. I understand it was Summit League in Sioux Falls that weekend, but you should care about your customers and not how many people you can pack in. For the price, I expected much better. Granted I haven't eaten at a Ruby Tuesday's for a few years, but they used to have some pretty good burgers. What I had there tonight was an obvious frozen patty that was fairly low quality. Traveling solo and stopped by to eat. The bar top being lit up gives you a headache. Whoever designed that should be fired. The worst service ever by Cass! I ordered fries & got tots, told the other waiter when he brought our food. Cass brings about 10 fries & walked away. They were barely warm and greasy. When I finally got her attention & told her, she brought out an order of hot fries that filled the plate! And my first order of fries were what? The fries were covered in pepper, yuk! By this time I had already eaten my burger. Not once checked on us if we wanted more soda & if everything was okay, we would have liked more to drink! When she brought over the machine to pay, she held it up & as I was putting in my card she just walked away! No explanation, nothing, we waited & waited, finally asked another waiter to help us & he was very pleasant. When we left she was on the phone & didn't acknowledge us at all. A must!! I ordered online and picked up food to go. I had a gift card, so consequently I went inside to purchase my food. The restaurant has remodeled within the past year, and the place looks AMAZING! When I entered, the hostess told me I should go to the bar to get my takeout order. The bartender was friendly, pleasant, polite, just exceptional. I have to take a minute & stop to tell you about the actual Ruby Tuesday restaurant building itself. (Granted I didn't see the ENTIRE inside--but enough) Totally Beautiful! The atmosphere and ambience was so cool--sort of a 'warm-fun-classic-happy style' I would call it. If there is such a thing. The lighting was great... And who notices & comments on a restaurants lighting? (Not me usually) but I still can't believe how awesome it was to walk into that place. Some thing about it was warm and inviting and welcoming. When I got home and had the food--even better. I had steak and a baked potato... And it was to die for. We went after seeing a movie. The restaurant is located close to the theater. We were hungry for a good hamburger and our meal was great. Coleslaw here is very nice, I substituted it instead of fries. Service was good considering that our waiter was covering the whole restaurant for a while! He could really move! Ruby Tuesday's used to have a fantastic salad bar but had started taking things off the buffet over the years, so I wasn't sure what I was going to get. Whatever the case, I was craving a salad AND the restaurant was within walking distance from the hotel. I walked in and the somber young male host seated me promptly. The server came over almost immediately to get my drink order. I asked about the Happy Hour and she wasn't sure so she asked another worker who came over with the answer. I'm certainly not complaining because she was wonderful. She had a wonderful personality and checked on me numerous times. Close to the lcoal hampton and holiday inn, so if you are traveling in sioux falls, and staying in one of the local inns, there are some good places to grab a bite or drink. We really wanted a salad bar and Ruby Tuesday was our choice. So we called and was told one price but when the check arrived we had sticker shock when the check arrived . An unfortunate experience - after a year of COVID related downhills I wanted that which I was used to at Ruby Tuesday's but didn't have it, because of information received in a phone call was not the price we were charged We travel so we are concerned that our negative experience might be a company wide challenge. I'm not normally a fan of chain restaurants. They often disappoint. However, I'm going to give this Ruby Tuesday a 4 because, not only was my fish well cooked and actually flavorful, but they had an open salad bar. You may think this isn't a huge feat, especially for a Ruby Tuesday, but during COVID, this was a very welcome surprise. Before anyone gets cross eyed and offended that they would have a salad bar open during this time, they took several precautions to maintain, at least what I consider, an adequate level of safety. A very pleasant exoerience....drinks were served super fast. Appetizer was served just as fast. We both had salads..me chicken Cobb in the baguette and my friend had a Mediterranean salad. I hate chain restaurants. There are 3 or 4 that are exceptions: Houston's, Famous Dave's, Claim Jumper. Driving from L.A. to MN last Summer, my wife and I stayed in Sioux Falls near a strip mall. Being tired, we kinda ended up eating at a Ruby Tuesday nearby, because of the convenience. Well, for a chain, it was very clean, the decor was not ugly, and the salad bar looked good. The service was good too and the drinks were a deal and made my evening. Ha. We don't have hardly any RTs in L.A., but I'd go to one if it was closer. We went to Ruby Tuesday on Sunday to have the brunch. When we were paying I gave our server the buy one get one 50% off coupon. She said it would not work on the brunch buffet. However in the past we have always been able to use it. She even came back and tried to explain why it wouldn't work. But there is nothing on the coupon excluding the sunday brunch. I can't explain how attentive the staff was and how great their courtesies were; it was that good. Went to try the brunch today. It was mediocre at best - salad bar is always pretty good. The part that really disappointed me is when I had an omelette made to order and I got about a quarter of the way through it and found a short black hair stuck in it. When I brought it to the waitress's attention she just said, "ewe, that's gross." Nothing else was done for us, not even a manager sent over to apologize. Haven't been here in a long time, but decided to go because of the great salad bar. We weren't disappointed in that aspect. It has been remodeled and is a very nice place. I was with my friend who was in town for dialysis and she can't eat a lot of things so ordered a plain burger well done. My mother ordered a fancy burger medium well. When they came my friends was pink in the middle and my moms was rare. My friend sent hers back. She has been a cook for years and so I asked her what the plan was in a situation like this. She said you make them a new burger. After 10 minutes her burger came back on a very hot plate. We looked at each other and knew exactly what happened. The cook nuked it. And what proof do we have? Her bun was rock hard. Add into this the waitress looked like she'd just been flogged in the kitchen-bawling face, tears, etc. so not sure what happened back there but it wasn't her fault. Five Stars. Seriously. Eating out is a seldom done thing for me. I have some pretty severe food allergies, gluten, broccoli, white potatoes, yadda yadda. Not only did they have a gluten free menu , but they subbed out the items I can't have for something diet friendly at no additional charge. This used to be my favorite place to eat in Sioux Falls. But our meals were pathetic tonight and prices were outrageous. The $17 Asiago Bacon Chicken was nuked and rubbery, bacon undercooked and seasoning so salty. The grilled zucchini side was soggy as well. My daughter and grandson's meals were equally disappointing. The $17 Chicken Parmesan had more coating than chicken. Not sure what the sauce was made of and the three bites of pasta looked like it too was nuked. A $7 kid's meal was two chicken strips and fresh grapes. Needless to say we will not be back. Too bad the restaurant lost its edge. read more
