I went to Morris Eye Group since that's where my insurance is contracted with. The front desk receptionist was just average,but then I saw Dr. Lee Katzman. I have retinal hemorrhaging, and he is the bridge to the retinal specialist that I ultimately need to see. Dr. Katzman spent a good deal of time with me and explained things thoroughly. He is professional and answered all my questions. The office told me ahead of time it would be approximately a 2-hour appt, and it was. However, when I was done, the woman in the back made the appt with the specialist for me, while I waited. She wanted to make sure things went smoothly for me. That was really nice of her! Dr. Crosby is the best. I had cataract surgery the beginning of the year and have had a difficult time adjusting to not wearing glasses all the time. My Vision is perfect and I love not wearing glasses all the time. The adjustment is trying to read. If you can get the lenses for both vision corrections, do. It will make it so easy. Surgery was a snap and recovery simple....I love Dr. Crosby...!!!! read more

This review is strictly for their optical department. Bought both my glasses and frames here, had a bad accident which damaged the frames and lenses. My husband called them to see if I can get the frames replaced with the same ones because I broke my nose. Tech Stephanie said she would check around to see if they were still around and call us to let us know. Of course, no call and no one answers phones there. My husband spoke to the office manager and told her we were waiting for the call. In a huff, she proceeds to tell us that Stephanie left for the day, and she was too busy to call. My husband was enraged at their attitude, and told them so. She said Stephanie would call us today... still waiting. My husband is now going there in person. I kinda love this place. But you better have good insurance OR a savings account you dont mind draining. Every staff member is competent, precise, able to answer your questions..just able!! The Docs are swell. The financial coordinator great. Maybe the Doc is a very good salesman..just ..if you are a senior and hurting, don't buy any deluxe pkg unless you can pay it up quickly. This office is great! During my appointment I was told I would need glasses. After my appointment I was told it would take about 2 weeks to get my new glasses. I called 3 days after my appointment since my headaches were getting worse. I spoke with a miracle worker named Tess. She took the time to listen to my story and she said she would call the wherehouse and see what she could do about getting me my glasses sooner. She called me back that afternoon saying that she put a rush order on my glasses. I recieved a call from her 2 days later that my glasses were in. Thank you Tess for all of your work. After a number of office visits I was left waiting for more than 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment time with my 85 year old mother....Dr. Morris display his aloof demeanor when walking into my waiting room and immediately sat in front of the computer screen...clearly he was having a bad day, after the office encounter, I was contacted 2 days before my scheduled surgery and was told that my mother had to be signed off by her cardiologist and needed to be rescheduled, frustrated I decided to move on to another more professional practice...so the moral of the story, prepare to wait, and prepare to pay for the more expensive laser treatment, and prepare to be nickel and dimed for everything. read more

I only go get my eyes checked up yearly and sometimes not even (one appt at a diff doctor they told me not to come back for 8 years or untill something had changed). Ive started coming annually now that i have a need for computer/reading glasses (+.75) . I also scheduled my husband for his checkup here. Facility was fine, nothing much to speak of...the room i was brought into was FREEZING but they quickly fixed the a/c issue (it was the winter so not sure why the ac was on anyhow). Felt like the exam was fine and then met the doctor. He was lovely, thorough and had a very nice demeanor. Decided to take perscription to purchase glasses elsewhere (maybe warby parker or costco) . The frames on site were all VERY expensive, didnt see any under $200 and my insurance only has a $130 allowance. They quoted my husband $180 for his lenses which also seemed really steep considering theyre just +1.25 and available over counter or from Warby parker for $99 including frames! But I appreciated the good service and reliable assessements for both me and my husband. read more

I can't say anything negative about Dr. Butler, but the business aspect has a strong odor of shady, deceptive and unethical. I was scheduled for an appointment and emphasized that the fact that I must submit a request to be absent from work in advance. They called the day before my appointment to say the authorization from the insurance had been denied. The lady told my wife that she had just found out that morning. However, I could keep my appointment and just pay $200 out of pocket. This was the day before my appointment. I went through hell to get the day off just to find out the authorization had been denied. I do not believe that they just so happened to find out the day before. Seems like Morris Eye Group wants to spring things on you at the last minute, then think that instead of canceling it you will just pay them out of pocket. Better for them to get cash in hand over dealing with the insurance. They should have submitted the authorization and when it came back denied, then the primary care provider would resubmit it. I really like Dr. Butler because she actually does work in the interest of the patient. The business side leaves me sceptical. read more

I have been going to another eye doctor for many, many years. This year I retired and started with a new insurance company. My wonderful Dr does not take it, therefore, I had to find another eye doctor. I have gone to the Morris Eye Group for all my 'medical' eye health needs but not just for vision exams. The reason for this is because The Morris group has you move to another room for each test. My previous doctor did all tests in one room, he brought the equipment to me. The only test I moved for was the visual field, which he did the same day. I saw a different doctor at Morris this time who casually informed me that I would need cataract surgery in a year or so! I had never been told I had cataracts forming. He wanted me back for the visual field in two weeks. This of course generates another copay. I will look for another eye dr, that takes my insurance for next years testing. read more

This was my first time here. My past experience with Optical places was not always fun. This place was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and answered my questions. I was extremely impressed with how quickly I was taken from one person to another, I don't think I waited more than a few minutes between 'stations'. They are very good. This was my 3rd visit over 5 years. I try to go every year for an annual exam. They are friendly and run a very well organized office. The techs know what they are doing, and Dr Crosby is good. She is through and spends time answering my questions. She is also very honest, which I appreciate. Make sure you are seeing an Ophthalmologist! I hate writing a negative review, but after almost 10 years I had enough! Poor customer service. From getting sold the incorrect first pair of frames, (I came in 3x to try to get them adjusted); screwing up billing (I have medical and VSP), 4 callbacks to get a refund owed to me, and 3 calls to try and get a medical release form (I finally had to go out of my way and walk in person cause I was so frustrated about not getting the service of simply getting the form sent to me). Then I found out I was NOT seeing a Ophthalmologist, but being billed as if I were. To TOP IT OFF, if I were to choose a new practice 30 miles away they said it was no charge TO TRANSFER MY MEDICAL RECORDS. But, if you were to change to a practice within 30 miles, Morris Eye Group charges you for your medical release papers? Isn't it the same amount of work to send if I were going to San Diego or go to another practice? I've been coming here for 10 years. It's like a production line at Morris, cattle call. No personal service, and it takes 3-4 times to request to get something done! As I was telling the administrator my history with them, another patient agreed and was shaking her head in agreement with me! She's obviously had the same experience! When they found out I was going to see a competing Ophthalmology who had worked for MORRIS Is when they decided to stick it to me one last time WITH A CHARGE for both me and my husbands recorded. IS THIS SOME KIND OF DETERRENT TO FORCE PATIENTS TO STAY? Remember folks, medicine is a business, this practice is showing it in its worst way! read more

This is a total scam. They are the most UNETHICAL and IMMORAL operation I have encountered in the past 25 years. They force you to pay for inflated prescriptions on brands they sell at inflated prices. They make you wait for hours and hours to see a doc who then gives you a total run around on why they cannot give you a prescription on the spot because they need to "fit" trial lenses (not in stock but they will charge you for $70 for their favored freebies) and then sell you these for 400 to 500 dollars over Costco prices. I wrote a review back on 5/17/2012 and I would like to change my stance on the Morris Eye group I had a terrible experience back then but what I can say is Dr. Jeff Morris hears his patients and what to make it right and that is exactly what both Amanda and Jeff did with my next experience. So much so that I am considering doing Lasik at this office when over a year ago I would have never set foot back in this business. Jeff called me directly to listen to my concerns and ask for me to come in free of charge so he could show me what they do at Morris Eye Group. I was pleasantly surprised. I still do not think the office manager handled himself appropriately last time but I know Jeff hear the concern and is looking to make his practice better which is all a patient could ask for. Have been a patient at the practice for years. I've had some good and not so good experiences depending on the doctor I've seen. They have a good glasses selection. A little pricey but much better quality than the glasses I used to get from an outside office. I usually get my glasses from here and would say paying a little extra is worth it. I recommend seeing Dr Butler when you make your appointment. She is honest, explains things very clearly and is an absolute joy to work with. The office is always very busy but I never feel rushed by her. I've had other doctors at this practice who I have liked who no longer work there. I'm not sure why so many other doctors have left the practice but I hope Morris Eye Group is able to keep her from leaving as well. Looking forward to my next appointment. read more

the worse place ever, I would give it 0 star and not recommend this place to anyone, they will try to rush out not giving a chance to ask any questions , they don't even disinfect their equipment at all. they would put on the eye exam machine wright after the other person finish, I swear you can see the dust from those machine, I was very very disappointed, especially with pandemic , they must disinfect after each person, Doctor Tara herself didn't disinfect the machine or even washed her hands when see examined my eye. as medical health professional , they need to be more professional. my visit was really a disaster, nothing is done wright, I would never use them again. ever again wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I went to Morris for the first time last week for a routine eye exam. I met 6 different people and was taken to 5 different rooms and I was there for 2 hours! It's a full on production. They were a little sales-y with the Lasik which I don't like. But with all that said everyone was very nice and knowledgeable. read more
