We have been here two nights in a row. This diner has not change since 15 years ago. Food is still good and decent. We ordered 3 breakfast entrees. 2 two eggs over hard and eggs over easy. The home fries were nice and toasty. The corn beef hash might be from a can, but it was delicious. The 3 of us shared the corn beef hash. The service was quick and our young waiter was attentive for being a busy night. He came back a few times to fill our glass of water and a hot. I definitely would recommend this diner! read more

It's as good as it has to be at the Morristown Diner. That's not saying a lot. And a recent lunch illustrates the need for the kitchen to step up their care for ingredients. A tuna salad sandwich should not have bits of metal in it. The waitress took it away without question but she did ask if I wanted anything different. I said a grilled cheese. She said with bacon? French onion soup charges extra for cheese. This has to be the worst diner I've experienced in NJ. The menu lists French Onion soup with an extra charge for cheese. FO soup has cheese by design. What arrived was a wide soup bowl covered by a few slices of cheese floating in the middle of the soup that didn't reach the edges of the bowl. They were not melted under a broiler but slightly melted by the heat of the soup. Bread had to be cut with a knife. Felt and tasted like they submerged a block of stale bread. Had a passable Ruben but the soup turned us off completely. Will NEVER return. read more

I was staying at the local Hyatt photographing a dance weekend there and needed a substantial, reasonably quick dinner on Friday night. Walked over with a friend and got seated immediately. I ordered a Gyro with fries and a black-and-white milkshake to wash it down; she opted for a burger with sweet potato fries and water. We were served very quickly and both our meals were excellent in terms of quantity, food quality and taste. The Gyro was the best I've had in years and the fries were absolutely phenomenal--crispy on the outside and oh-so-soft on the inside. The black and white was also excellent--very thick and creamy. My friend additionally ordered two bagels with Lox for takeout, so she'd have something for breakfast the next two days. She opened one of them for me to see and it looked really excellent. I like a good breakfast so I went back two more times and have to say that they were superb as well, notably one where I ordered a ham and Swiss omelet; at first glance it didn't look like anything special--more like a crepe folded in half, but wow, it was just amazing due to the quality of the meat and cheese, and that it wasn't overcooked like at most diners. The only thing that's not amazing are the toast options; just white, wheat, rye, or gluten free. No English muffin option (I asked). But consider that the cost of the omelet with home-fries, toast, coffee and juice is around $10; well less than any other NJ or Delaware diner I've visited in the last ten years! I should also note that on every visit there I saw a plethora of other people from our event. Note: there's no Wi-Fi at the restaurant and cell reception is marginal unless you sit on either side of the window-sided aisle. The Panini did not come with cheese or dressing as it was supposed to. They did not provide dressing for the french toast, it was pricier than I would have expected for diner food. My husband and I have avoided this diner because we remember it being below average. We always say how it's a shame to have a mediocre diner in such a popular city. We came back and- while I do feel this diner needs some improvements to survive the future of Morristown and the direction it is moving in...this was a better experience. Food is a solid 3 stars: not great, not bad. Probably would only do breakfast and apps here - nothing too fancy or complex. Home fries needed more flavor/spice to them. Scrambled eggs were a bit undercooked. Banana pancakes were fine - a little uncooked in parts. Coffee was weak (but most diner coffee is). While on Morristown and after our annual medical physical, we decided to grab some coffee and breakfast . We found this diner not far from our doctors office so we settled here A small diner but the cheddar cheese omelette with home fries and rye toast, coffee was exceptionally tasty. This was on very okay. They have a small parking lot or else you'll need to pay for parking nearby. The food is super standard diner food. On the plus side, there are a lot of options. Any sandwich with fries is a sold options. The prices are reasonable. I had a gyro and thought it was fine. It's not like going to an authentic Greek restaurant, but I found it satisfactory. Very saucy. My husband's shrimp scampi didn't come with pasta as he expected. There was a lot of sauce and not a lot of shrimp. The baked potato and broccoli were both not great. Entrees are too risky. I didn't find anything special about this dinner over others but it's decent of you need cheap eats. read more

I always go to diners for breakfast and this one doesn't disappoint. In particular their Morristown special- pancakes, heavy portion of bacon, and 1 egg with coffee for less than 10 bucks is a steal. Very strange experience here. My group came in fairly late (1:00 AM), they are open until 2:30 on Saturdays. When we sat down I overheard what I think was the manager being loudly rude while speaking to the other waitresses and saying "these f***ing gringos". Which immediately made the vibe in the place kinda weird because it was overheard by multiple tables. We were about to order when a girl from a table behind us started playing a harmonica (which is very rude and shouldn't happen in an eating establishement) the situation was blown so far out of proportion by this same manager, she threw her hands up and walks over to them yelling so loudly about how they need to get tf out and take their sh*t and leave. Which is mildly unprofessional but somewhat understandable. She then calls the police on this table and is loudly talking on the phone about it with the cops. I understand that being rude isn't ok but this ladies vibe was so negative and so offputting the entire time that it made being there feel so strange. Morristown Diner has delicious burgers. Since I just can not stop exploring and writing reviews: I had to give this quaint, silver-and-red diner a try a few weeks ago. The time I visited (about 3PM) was not the best as just within the next half hour the waiters left work.. Morristown Diner has a shortage of personnel up at the front counter, as the waitress was taking on long over-the-phone call in orders. All the tables in the dining room were anxiously waiting, as was a long line of recently arrived, hungry visitors! This diner can be easily overlooked during the day as the sign for it passes by quick on the road. The food however is expertly prepared and is made fast: usually just within 5 minutes. And the flavors. The 'widow burger' that I ordered as if shaken out of a magician's hat (I wanted to try a niche dish), was really flavorful. More importantly there were no burns on the bread. It was served sizzling and just as ordered. Maybe the slaw was too sweet. Cons (as in, this should not happen at a diner bar-top when a guest is eating): waitresses shouting, kitchen cooks making their own sandwich on the counter, woman counting tips on counter and the really gross busboy wringing-out filthy rags in a bucket on the counter! There was an extremely attractive couple sitting in a booth across from me last Saturday night. As an unattractive man, I was envious of their looks as well as their choice of meal. They got breakfast for dinner. I didn't have much money as I worked a light shift at work the past week. I only ordered fries, they were pretty good. Years ago, during my youthful party days, this was my go to spot after a night of having adult beverages. Their food definitely hit the spot back then (THC, disco fries) and continues to do so, to this day (even when sober). Recently I have had their breakfast sandwich, fries and tuna melt. All were quality and delicious. The service was on par, friendly and attentive. Their prices are still reasonable many years later. They have plenty of parking nearby and outside. I love this diner! One of the last real diners to stick around , they close around 2AM. They have really decent food here and great service. I love the location and they chill vibe . I have to recommend their Greek Salad, it's excellent and has the best homemade Greek dressing I've had in many years. I also love the Dolmades (Stuffed Grape Leaves). Second time I ordered the same thing - terrible service, messed up my order and was rude about it! Both times I ordered the grilled chicken portobello panini. Has balsamic, roasted peppers and mushrooms on a crispy panini- overall I'm a fan! However I requested no cheese on both orders and they brought it out with cheese (my second time there). This place had a great one. However, my time traveling DeLorean is in the shop and I am doomed to dine in the present. Coagulated American cheese, thinly sliced Taylor ham dried out on the grille, and an over cooked egg on a slightly stale Keizer roll. As a native New Jersian I am insulted by the fossilized representation of our fine State's signature achievement. In this town, George Fucking Washington conquered the English!! And in doing so, he freed us from inferior British food. As a NJ Diner you owe the residents of Morristown better. read more

The hostess was very attentive, and when she was not around, the other waiter was attentive to me as well. However, despite the friendly service, I wasn't that impressed with the food. I had gotten a corned beef hash with eggs, and to be frank, I've had better. It is a good place... but I do know better places. My friends and I have gone around various diners in the area in attempt to find the best one and Morristown is the one we placed at the bottom of our list. The food is either very average or below average quality. Of course diners are not meant to be of 5 star quality, but I was shocked at how little effort both the waiters and cooks were putting into the food and us. The waiters seemed very lackluster and made me feel under the impression that they just wanted me to pay and leave. Attached is a picture of what I ordered which is a chicken salad sandwich. It was alright: I can not say I didn't like it but it's for sure something I would not think about ever again (and I might not order again). Not pictured is the eggs Benedict someone at my table ordered. I wish I had taken a picture because it looked like it came out of an animated movie in a not so great way. There was a pool of neon orange hollandaise sauce that covered most, if not all, of the plate. I was first shocked as to why the sauce was orange and why there was so much of it, but I was not surprised when the person who ordered it said it was overpowering and not flavorful. And then used it to fraudulently charge my card for a bunch of food I did not ever receive. She told me that she herself packed the food, the food had BITES missing from It. She ATE my food. I called multiple times to discuss this and because she didn't like the fact that I was upset about it, you hung up on me over and over and then laughed at me when I said I would report her for fraud and hung up again. All the while admitting that she had never bothered to pack HALF of my food, but still* refused to refund me the stolen money. "GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK". She said before laughing. She's a criminal. And deserves to be fired. No one even goes there anymore because they can't stand her. She is rude and crude and cusses at people....people who are sober. Apparently tho, if you call to place and order over the phone, order thru a service or come in drunk, she steals your credit card numbers and charges u for food you did not order or did not reci She literally refused to give me the food I paid for. And refused to refund me. Laughing at me and using ethnic slurs against me implying I was cheap for requesting a refund. I have an Appt to go to the police station and file official felony charges of fraud against her. As I was on the phone a group of people walked by and said she'd done the same with them. When you compare this to other diners in the state, the food stacks up. My wife and I came late on a weeknight and the staff was pleasant. The place had a handful of people in it. I ordered the cajun chicken sandwich, which had a slightly bigger kick to it than I was expecting but it was tolerable. The fries were fairly standard. My wife's waffles were ok but the maple syrup was less than desirable. The service and prices were fair and the place was clean. I wasn't a fan of the air blower to dry your hands.
