Disappointing experience, especially for Morton's. I was seated at the bar, but my receipt identified me as Table 402, and the staff carried my food around as though no one knew where it belonged. The filet sandwich was okay, although I essentially ate only the meat. The cocktail was horrible--genuinely undrinkable. Despite the restaurant not being busy, there was almost no engagement or follow-up from the staff. When I was ready to leave, I sat for roughly 10 minutes waiting for my check while employees continued passing by. The final bill was only $10, but the lack of attention, poor drink, and overall confusion made the experience not worth returning for. read more

I visited Morton's for a birthday dinner, and it was kind of underwhelming. The waiters didn't know which menu to give us (we wanted a 3 course dinner that was featured outside their restaurant) but gave us a 5 course one. Then when we began to order drinks too a very long time to come out. The restaurant was not full at all- so this was shocking. Our food came out course style but the server forgot to put in our side orders so those came last. Our steaks were all cooked at incorrect temperatures. It was just a mess. Morton's in Bethesda is always a fantastic experience, and we especially love it when Rebecca is bartending. She's attentive, welcoming, and makes the bar such a great place to be. The food is consistently incredible. The shrimp appetizer is amazing, the salads are fresh and delicious, and I always order the Cajun ribeye -- it's perfectly cooked and pairs so well with the horseradish sauce. The au gratin potatoes have me forever (absolutely unbeatable), and the Brussels sprouts with bacon are so good they're a must-order every time. From the drinks to the food to the service, everything is top-notch. Morton's Bethesda never disappoints and is always worth the visit. Five stars without hesitation. read more

Stopped by Morton's to take advantage of their special pre-fixe three-course menu and had a really enjoyable experience overall. From the moment we were seated, the service stood out--attentive, professional, and well-paced without ever feeling rushed or overbearing. The menu was a solid offering and a great way to experience Morton's. Each course was well executed, portion sizes were satisfying, and everything came out as expected for a steakhouse of this caliber. A special shout-out to the bar--the bartender absolutely knows how to make a good drink. Well-balanced cocktails, not watered down, and clearly made by someone who understands their craft. I have never dined out on Christmas before but I was happy to have had the opportunity to do so at Morton's. The regular menu was offered so I knew I would find something. Nice, upscale restaurant located in the lower level of the hotel. Staff were great. I had a cowboy ribeye and a huge baked potato. The rub on the steak was very flavorful. The cook I requested on the steak, Medium-rare w/touch of mad cow, was fantastic. Steaks was 18oz and the potato felt like 9oz but was probably much less than that. Overall good time. This was my first time at Morton's Steakhouse, and my husband and I went for dinner during Restaurant Week. The experience was fantastic and such a great value. We were warmly greeted and seated right away, and the service was attentive throughout the evening. The meal started with fresh warm bread and butter for the table, which set the tone. For appetizers, we had the lobster bisque and the wagyu meatball--both rich and flavorful. For mains, I chose the salmon and my husband had the lobster ravioli, with sides of mashed potatoes and onion rings. Honestly, everything we tried was exceptional, even the onion rings felt elevated and special. The portion sizes were also generous; we were already pretty full by the time our entrées arrived. We ended the night with desserts: key lime pie and crème brûlée. Both were the perfect finish to an already incredible meal. Overall, Morton's delivered on every front--food, service, and atmosphere. This was my first time back at this restaurant in three years. I had high hopes, but was disappointed with the temperature of my food given that the restaurant was practically empty at the time of our 5:30 PM, Tuesday reservation. I expected everything to be served piping hot. Our lobster bisque was barely room temperature. While my steak was cooked to the correct internal temperature, that was served to be warm as well. Luckily, I received the same great service that I am used to at this location. The food was extremely flavorful. We were seated next to the chefs area where we can see being prepared and that was a nice touch. Our server gave us a free crème brûlée dessert as an apology. Overall, I do recommend this restaurant, however, they did have an off night. read more

I took someone here for a birthday dinner and must say I was impressed. The service is what stood out the most. Our server was on top of everything and even sang to the birthday girl with me! They gave her a free dessert with a candle in it (I belive about a $15 value). The food was outstanding as well. I had filet mignon and she got the filet with a lobster tail. They were cooked perfectly and not very seasoned (which is good...I prefer to taste the steak juices instead of tons of pepper). The walls have wine bottles along them and the lighting is very intimate. It really does feel fancy while dining here. Came here for DC restaurant week winter. $55 for dinner plus added lobster tail ($15) and lobster bisque ($3). I never came in here for a meal and glad I did give it a chance. I like the way it's decorated although there are no windows, but its a classic like art deco ish place. Our waiter took some to deliver our menu and after initial contact was fine and got our drinks out in a reasonable time and refilled our water. Wish though they can clean the table after our entree, like other steakhouses do. That's knock, I know it's petty, but this is what should expect from an expensive steakhouse. The cocktail and wine were great! Anyways the food was just alright. The meatball was so dense but the sauce was very tasty. The filet I asked for medium and it came out medium well with zero trace of blood or juice (thank god there was butter for the lobster tail, which I doused onto the steak). The lobster was the star. The soufflé was very tasty but the sauce you are suppose to pour in (our waiter didn't provide any instructions) was so thick it didn't slide into the soufflé, so I only put a little bit of it in. For a good Bethesda/Chevy Chase steakhouse I'll just stick with Capital Grille. read more

I brought clients here for a dinner, and everything was absolutely exceptional. You expect a certain experience walking into a Morton's, and we received absolutely that. It was first class service all the way through, with multiple people helping our table to make sure that everybody had their needs attended to. We were a moderately sized group of about eight, and my clients come there frequently, as was noted by their regularity with the staff, lol. We were not rushed in any way, because we wanted to have a happy hour, and then some appetizers, and then order the entrees. At no point did we feel pressured to go ahead and order, and the staff was so accommodating. Everything was perfectly timed, and my guests felt super appreciated and special even though they were regulars at the establishment. We had a large variety of appetizers and entrees, and I can tell you that everything was cooked perfectly, and tasted delicious. My espresso martini was the perfect night cap in such an amazing atmosphere. read more

I went to Morton's over 10 years ago at the Georgetown location. I had a bad experience then and nothing has changed now. I was hoping I went at a bad time but no, still bad food. I had reservations on October 28th at 5:15. We arrived and were greeted. The restaurant was virtually empty and now I really know why. We were seated. The customer service was great. No denying that. The food however is not, we ordered the following: Lobster Mac & Cheese-While the lobster is good, the nacho cheese on the macaroni is not. Nothing baked about it. I thought I was eating lobster with movie theater cheese over some macaroni, The Prime Ribeye- Cold, cold and more cold. It was cold 10+ years ago and it was still cold in 2023, My wife ordered the lemon drop and as u can see in the video, it's lacking. Missing 30% of the drink. The chicken Christopher is meh. I won't be returning to Morton's ever again. Complete waste of time and money. read more

Disappointing Service Despite Excellent Food My husband is an international celebrity, and while many people in the restaurant and hotel recognized him, our waiter clearly did not. That is beside the point. Who you are should never matter--every guest deserves dignity, respect, and attentive service. We went to Morton's The Steakhouse in the Hyatt Regency in downtown Bethesda, Maryland after a magic show and were fortunate to get a table on Valentine's Day. Our server, Owen, started off well. Drinks arrived promptly and were well made. As the evening went on, however, the service slowed to almost a crawl. Given that it was Valentine's Day, we were patient, understanding, and communicative throughout. When the food finally arrived, it was excellent. We ordered the lamb and the lobster--both were delicious and exceptionally well prepared. The portion of the lamb was generous, quite the opposite for the lobster, which was barely a quarter pound of protein. During the meal, Owen checked in a few times, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the experience completely unraveled at the end. After finishing our meal, Owen disappeared entirely. We waited 20 minutes for our check and for our leftovers to be packaged. When he eventually returned, he tossed a few bags and take-home containers onto the table and walked away again--still without bringing the check. Another waiter, John, finally noticed our situation and tried to help resolve it. He was very helpful, brought us our check and made sure we had everything we needed to finish our experience. However, Owen never returned to our table for approximately 40 minutes at the end of the meal, despite walking past us multiple times without acknowledging us. What made this even more disappointing is that my husband reported the situation to two managers. While they listened to his concerns, there was no follow-up, no response, and no attempt to make things right. We have never left a zero tip before and are normally very generous tippers, but the level of neglect was unacceptable. For the first time ever, we left a tip of ZERO. This review would also be a ZERO if not for the exceptional. Interestingly, we were sharing a large table with another party of two that we did not know. Their treatment was entirely different and much more positive than ours. If we are treated like this again, we will not return. This level of service does not match the reputation of a restaurant located inside a Hyatt Regency, and we will be sure to share our experience with friends and fans across the region, the state, and beyond. read more

Had the Filet Mignon sliders (4 for $12) - outstanding, perfect medium rare, and the mini crabcakes (2 for $18), solid also. Had a great experience at Mortons recently. We came for an early dinner and sat at the high tables, which are open before the dining room opens at 5pm. You can get drinks, bar bites, or full service at the high tables. Our waitress was very attentive and came over right away. We order drinks, appetizers, and entrees and everything came out within perfect timing. She also gave her honest recommendations and helped us make decisions on what we would have for our meal. I started with the passion margarita which was perfectly smoky and sweet! We also ordered the onion bread for the table, which has a delicious crust and fluffy middle. For appetizers we had the wagyu meatballs and the crab cake. Both were incredible! For the entree I had a filet with a lobster tails and mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Truly an amazing meal. I usually have a list of hits and skips, but everything was a hit! I highly recommend coming here for an early dinner if you ever have the opportunity! Our waiter was excellent. There was one manager with a Christmas tree tie that went around to some tables (not ours) to greet them. The other two managers just looked at us like we were crazy. The two hostesses were nice and inviting especially the young guy that said happy Thanksgiving and asked us how we were doing. The female manager held onto her hand held device and said hello to others. The busboy nearly knocked me over trying to get a water jug on a side table and he never said excuse me. Stepping into Morton's felt promising -- the ambiance suggested an elevated night out, the kind where flavors and service are equally memorable. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the setting. The cuisine showed real potential -- thoughtful presentation and quality ingredients hinted at a kitchen with promise. But any momentum was lost once the service began. While we understand that even great teams have off nights, the service we encountered from Oliver was surprisingly indifferent at best and, at times, borderline rude. Orders were taken with minimal eye contact, requests were met with sighs rather than solutions, and basic courtesies felt optional rather than customary. I am highly disappointed with my recent experience. To start, the bartenders ignored us; we were only acknowledged when we drew attention to ourselves. Those around us were given bread, but we were never informed that it was available. Additionally, the couple next to us had their leftovers packed and bagged for them, while we were handed a container only after we asked for it and then they walked away. Went to Morton's for our anniversary dinner and the food was absolutely amazing. I'm not big on steaks so the fact that I can't wait to eat my leftovers speaks volumes. I got the 16oz Prime Cajun Ribeye with sautéed spinach, and mushrooms on the side. Along with the smoked Gouda and bacon gratin potatoes. Everything was so good, I literally have no complaints. My steak was cooked to perfection!! Nice and juicy! I highly recommend the truffle butter as an ad-on to your steak!!! Omg lol My husband also devoured his food and tried the baked potato that was huge!! The service was great as expected and the place was nice and clean. The bathroom is so pretty lol.
