I was dead set on going to Delbar based on reviews and proximity to where I live. I did an online search and Sabou popped up-5 stars, rave reviews. I had an appointment in Roswell so figured might as well try it. It was early..like 12:30. On a Monday - it's located in a strip mall on Alpharetta Hwy. Ample parking. One of the owners greeted me warmly and asked if I'd been there before. I told him no I was here based on great reviews and pictures of the food. He brought me the starter plate( radish, walnuts, cheese that I imagine is standard.) He also brought out a small dish of humus and this homemade flat type bread - similar to pita but thinner and very tasty. I was alone so I didn't want to go all out and order several dishes..I got the chicken barg kabab- Without a doubt these were the most tender, most juiciest pieces I've ever had. Grilled vegetables were on the side. The rice was fluffy and the tahdig was perfection. Not sure if they had the alcohol license yet and I'm not a day drinker so I stuck with water. Restrooms were spotless. The atmosphere felt authentic with the assorted Persian rugs on display on the wall. You could tell they take great pride in their food and it shows. I have been raving about Sabou and telling friends it's a must go. I'll return with more people so we can sample more dishes. Not to be disrespectful but a friend took me to a competitor here in town that is very popular. Not even close as far as quality of food. It was average at best- I guess I will have to time my next visit according to traffic but I can't wait to return. read more

Incredible welcome! Delicious Food! Excellent ambience and fabulous customer service! Seating for large or smaller more intimate parties. Very helpful with allergen needs, food is fresh, comes to the table as ordered and delightfully seasoned. A full bar, parking is easy as is part of a strip mall. We enjoyed the humus and chicken shwarma as an appetizer with fresh veggies in place of bread- items are marked GF, DF and can be adjusted, just ask your Server. A cup of warm and exotic lentil soup, Main was the chicken barq kabab - exquisite! We have already started thinking of what to order at our next visit! Sabou is such a nice addition to the area in Alpharetta. It's located in a shopping where we get our poodles groomed off Highway 9 so very convenient for us. The owner has been so nice when we have eaten there and makes us feel welcome. He owns the store next to it with fresh bread, meat and other things they serve at the restaurant. The decor inside is so pretty and really makes you forget you're in a shopping center. The Persian rugs on the wall, beautiful lighting and design are very nicely done. The food has been delicious from the baba ganoush, hummus, starter plate with delicious cheese, walnuts, olives and herbs to the amazing rice and chicken barg. Their presentation of the food is stunning and the crispy edges of the birds nest rice is delicious. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and so juicy it's delicious. I love the grilled vegetables and radish that come with the meal as well. The homemade bread is so good and they're always generous with bringing more with your meal if you want it. This was our 1st visit to Sabou. It had a warm inviting atmosphere with dimmed lights and textiles on walls. They seem to be new and do not yet have their liquor license. Server was Reza and was very friendly. He offered us still or sparking water and brought out a welcome plate with fresh basil, feta cheese, olives, and bread wedges We like to share so we ordered Mirza Ghasemi as our appetizer, the Fattoush Salad, and Ghormeh Sabzi Stew that came with Saffron Rice. They even brought us more bread to have with our meal. We were too full for desert but will save room next time! All of our food was outstanding with good portions. This is now our favorite Persian/Mediterranean restaurant in the north suburbs of Atlanta! We have 2 other "unnamed" favorites up here but were excited to find one that has raised the bar! ***Hard to locate because there is no sign yet since they recently opened, but it is right next to Hut bakery.*** Interior: The decorations and even the bathroom was well designed. I loved that they had two private bathrooms but also an open sink area for those who just want to wash their hands. Also loved that there was great ventilation so I left without smelling like food. Service: Our server was attentive and patient while we looked over the menu. She didn't hover and was quick to pick up our empty dishes and refill our waters. The chef/owner(?) also came out to check on us and welcome us to his restaurant after our meal. He was so pleasant to talk to, very cheerful and friendly! Food: We were a table of two and started with their complimentary starter kit of bread, cheese, olives, and herbs. Then the TABBOULEH SALAD which was fresh and lemony, exactly how it should be! We both shared their CHICKEN SOLTANI which is a combo of their Chicken Barg and Beef Koobideh combo. The dish was beautifully presented and each item and meats were delicious! The chicken was so juicy and tender which is hard to do with white meat and the koobideh had a beautiful soft texture to it without feeling mushy or grainy at all. The veggies were charred perfectly and well curated. The rice was perfectly cooked, had a nice bounce and aroma to it. I was also blown away by their sumac (spice they give you on the side to sprinkle onto the food), it was very finely milled and had such a light flavor to it. Best sumac I've ever had. We got tea to accompany our meal and it was good and I liked that they kept it warm at the table with a candle. All in all it was such a great experience! read more

Went here today with my daughter. Walked into a calm, serene space with music playing in the background. One wall is covered in beautiful Persian rugs. Lightly is subdued but not too dark. We had baba ghanoush which is an eggplant with yogurt and tahini for our starter It was fresh and flavorful and the owner happily made it without walnuts to accommodate my daughter's allergy. . A plate with olives, cheese and walnuts and mint and basil was served with a delicious bread. For the main dish I had bath kabob which is a beef tenderloin served with saffron basmati rice. The Meat was spiced well and was tender and tasty. The basmati rice had a wonderful crispy bottom and very fragrant and tasty flavor. We ordered a side of the pickled vegetables which were just as tasty as everything else. The portion was large so I took leftovers to eat for dinner at home. The bathroom was spotless. Sabour has it all, great ambiance, stellar service and outstanding, delicious food. I highly recommend it as you will be a fan, just as we are. read more

Amazing new restaurant!! I placed to go order this past Tuesday night. My son ordered the Koobideh with rice & it was a really big portion! We had the Fattoush Salad, Salmon, & Hummus. Everything was absolutely delicious!! we have been looking for a Mediterranean/Lebanese restaurant for a while. The man who greeted me when I went to pick it up was so nice. He said they had been there for 7 or 8 months and that they're getting their liquor license in January. You definitely need to try this restaurant. I wasn't really familiar with Persian food, and I'm totally sold on it now. The restaurant was warm and comfortable. The service was excellent. The waiter, chef, and manager (probably), all spoke to us, regular checking in and at one point explaining to us how to use the seasonings that were unfamiliar to us. They were good humored and joyful, and it was clear that they are passionate about their food. It's not just a job. And the food was wonderful! We were served fresh-baked bread from their adjacent bakery. We ordered Kashk bademjoon, a delectable eggplant and whey dish that we spread all over our bread. But don't make the classic mistake of filling up on the free bread and appetizers (or do, you can always take things home!) The entrees included a healthy helping of saffron rice, and some chargrilled whole tomatoes, pepper and onion. We got the barg kebob (beef tenderloing) and koobedah kabob (ground beef).
