Taking in an Irish Pub atmosphere is always fun. We were heading to the Riverdance show so this was the pre-cursor of all things Irish. The location is definitely handy if going to the show, but that was about all that we enjoyed about it. I ordered a Malibu pineapple and they gave me a Malibu with Pickle Juice..umm..pickle juice?!?! They made a new drink but no compensation..they managed to charge the full $7.25 AND the .50 extra for pineapple (really?). I had the fish and chips. Batter was light, fish was cooked well, but the entire meal was underwhelming for one of their key items. I've had better at Culvers. I ordered a 2nd drink..Malibu with water, and a lime. Drink came without the lime. When I asked for it the waitress (who was friendly) said oh yeah..and brought me one in her hand..no napkin, no plate..just a lime in her hand And that right there about sums up the experience. read more

For our weekend lunch, the service and food would've earned four stars, but the quality of the drinks and maintenance of the place subtracted a star for me. First, the good: The servers were friendly and prompt on a Saturday afternoon. And, our food was four-star pub fare--my wife's cottage pie was delicious and plentiful (she brought half of it home) and my chicken wrap had the right tangy bite with barbeque sauce and blue cheese. But, Mo's disappointed a bit on two fronts. First, the place looks like nothing has been done to it in the 15 years it's been open. It's running the risk of slipping from an Irish Pub to a dive bar if the owners don't start addressing some deferred maintenance. Maybe it's just that this spot is most popular at night when things are dark and we saw it in the harsh light of day, but the carpeting is stained and thin, floors need cleaning and refinishing, and the one stall in the men's bathroom doesn't close. The other problem was that my Manhattan (the "Mo-hattan") was bad. I'm not sure how you screw up a Manhattan, much less one you're branding as your own special recipe--the drink only has two ingredients (plus a couple of splashes of bitters). It's possible the bartender made it a "perfect" instead of a standard Manhattan (meaning a mix of sweet and dry vermouth), or maybe the vermouth was old and had gone bad. (Vermouth loses its taste within a few weeks if not refrigerated, in my experience.) Whatever the problem, I was disappointed. So, you might want to stick with the beer menu if you visit Mo's Irish Pub. The place seems to have its pub food right and could be a four-star spot, but it needs a little attention, in my opinion. read more

This isn't an Irish pub. The bartender wasn't very hospitable and, while the decor is definitely pub-like, the ambiance wasn't. Loud hip-hop was playing and it was pretty vulgar. I don't dislike hip hop at all, but it was super loud. Maybe that seems like a small thing, but if it's marketed as a pub, that's the vibe I expect. It was more like a cheap college bar. Quite possibly the worst service I've had. Thursday night, I can understand that they were understaffed, but there were 12 people there and the bar tender was more interested in talking vape puffs from a customer than getting my drink order. Due to proximity of or hotel room, we tried again thinking they'd be better staffed on a Saturday night. We were wrong. On Saturday they had a DJ who did nothing but interrupt songs to tell people where the bathroom was located. Nice beer selection, cool atmosphere, and some amazing (and unhealthy) appetizers make this place a pretty great stop on a night out in Milwaukee. The place is really big for what looks like an unassuming bar, and they have several different sections based on how loud you want it or how much privacy you want. The combo appetizer plate is a pretty good choice if you have at least 3 people, and the cheeseburger shalaylees are epic. They're pretty much everything that's amazing about cheeseburgers and egg rolls all crammed into one salty appetizer. Their beer selection is pretty great, although the Spotted Cow I've gotten there on tap doesn't taste as good as the bottled. They have live music sometimes, and the last band I saw there wasn't that great, but still having the band play helped make it a cooler visit. read more

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. 100% recommended. We flew in to Wisconsin for a vacation and started in Milwaukee. Hotel suggested this place for a quick bite. Tomato soup was excellent. The setting is cool, the service is nice, and with just 1 food tax, (there are 2 or 3 here in Silly-Noise) I just can't complain. I was in Milwaukee last night and had dinner here with my coworkers. Mo's Irish is quite a good pub. It's around the corner from downtown Hampton Inn where we stayed at. Awesome Happy Hour! They have great drink specials and $5 appetizers which are big enough to share with friends or have as your own meal. I ordered the Spinach Tapenade which I shared with my crew and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (minus the bacon) paired with Roasted Tomato Soup. It was very good. There's quite a few Gluten-Free and Vegetarian items at this pub for those on a special diet. Next time, I'm going to try their Veggie Burger and Cheese Sauce & Chips. They look pretty darn good. Definitely worth a look if you're searching for a decent pub in downtown Milwaukee, as I am often known to do. . read more

To the owner of Mo's Pub, I stop at your bar a couple times per month. I like the food and the specials from the point program. Most of all I like the feel of the place. Lots of groups at the bar tables and the big bar with several TV's with sports on them. Tonight that is all gone. The intrance area bar is small, you can tell the workers are cramped and bumping into each other. I asked four of your workers why the change and none gave me a reasonable answer. The best was that before as people came in they saw a closed bar rather than an empty one. I ask you to sit at that bar and look around, what do you see? Yes it's easier to find the bath rooms, it feels like your on a little tiny pourly decorated bar. I don't think the look could get any farther from a "pub"! You have ruined the ambiance of your pub! Came to get some food before a concert. I sat at the bar because there would have been a 45 minute wait for a table. No one acknowledged me. I had to go to the other side of the bar and ask someone to take my order. The bartender took my food order but left without getting my drink order. More waiting. Someone delivered the food but did not bring silverware or ketchup for the burger. That server left before I got a chance to ask. Had to get attention of another bartender for silverware. Asked bartender for ketchup and was yelled hat for interrupting her. Surprised at how rude and inefficient staff is. There are concert goers who come here before each show at the Riverside. This was a four star experience, but I have no choice but to take back a star for the poorly poured "Black and Tan". You see, the bartender is supposed to use a spoon to prevent the Guinness on the bottom from mixing with the Harp (or in this case, Smithwick's). A small pot of horseradish sauce as well, though I found it bland. A bit of mustard took care of that. I cleaned the plate and instead of another poor Black & Tan, I went with a Harp draft. Service (lack of service) was HORRIBLE. After taking our first initial drink order it was a challenge to flag someone down. I literally was standing waving my arms to get someone's attention. It was NOT BUSY. Anytime a bartender came to our side of the bar they (none of them) would make eye contact. We ordered cheese curds and a pretzel after finally getting someone's attention. The order was brought out and the pretzel was STONE COLD! Again after having bartender repeatedly walk by me and not acknowledge me short of tackling someone I finally got their attention and sent it back. Now we wait and wait and wait. Again, not busy. I had to get someone's attention three if not four times (not an easy task) to check on the damn pretzel. I did not leave a tip (which I have never ever not done) - earn your tip. Even at establishments were experience was less than great I have left a tip - congrats your team didn't even earn that. Well maybe you think you did. I checked my bank statement and it seems someone did add an authorized tip to my tab. I have tried calling you today but surprise no one answers the phone. Guess you ignore that like your in person customers. I finally reached someone and after a lengthy call the manager did in fact confirm an $18 tip was applied. Came in on Saturday a few hours before a Brewers game (before the rush) to grab a quick beer & bite. Ordered nachos and acouple of beers. Nachos were FANTASTIC!!! Seriously. Perfect for sharing and very filling for 2 adults just wanting to hold over hunger pangs until ballgame. Our waitress was very friendly but at one point, went missing for about 10-15 mins and I took my own water glass to the bar for a refill, which the bartender seemed bothered by and only refilled with water, no ice--Um, thanks, I guess....sorry to put you out?!?! Absolutely terrible experience. Irish Fest happening right down the street and we end up at an Irish bar, what could possibly go wrong??? Absolutely EVERYTHING!!! It was an absolute train wreck!!!!! Not to mention the fact that she never came by to pick up any bottles, any plates, or just anything that we were finished with. My daughter ordered her second beer, and it wasn't the same as the first one that she had ordered. When we told Monique about this, she said let me go see what I can do. She came back and said that they had ran out of her original beer but they are having a new keg for her. So she just tried to pass off another beer?!?!? WTF?!?!? After about 10 minutes, she comes back and says that they don't have that beer anymore. Riddle me this Batman, how the fuck were they tapping the keg when they didn't even have a keg to tap?!?!?!? UNREAL!!! As for the cleanliness, I felt like I wanted to leave and just go bathe in a bath of Purell . Everything was dirty and sticky!!! Ordered the triple grilled cheese with tomato soup. Tomato soup arrived in a cheap styrofoam cup at room temperature at best. After multiple complaints, the bar keep brought another styrofoam cup of it that was near the boiling point. I put some ice in it to cool it down. Taste terrible. They sure taught me to never complain about their food (or visit them again). I love and frequent the Moe's on Bluemound and Mayfair Road. Contrast between the two is unbelievable. Will never ever visit the operation on Wisconsin Avenue again. Avoid it like the plague. Oh, and BTW, walked several blocks to get my car then drove back to pick up my date. Went here on a Friday night after 8 pm. The hostess gave me a look when I asked for a table for one-- yes, some of us solo dine. The Smithwicks beer was perfect after a long week of work. The chicken dumpling soup was delicious. The fish and chips did not disappoint either. Fish was Light and not greasy. Coleslaw and fries were great compliments to the fish. There was live music or there was an attempt. A lot of warm up activity and only one song was played and then a break. Not sure what was the issue.
