    Chicken and beef combo plate
    Betty R.

I used the drive thru because I was told it wouldn't take too long. I guess they were a little short handed because the first window was open but empty so I had to wait until I got to the front window to order. They do take all forms of payment: cards and tap included. The wait was actually pretty reasonable since the cat in front of me had a large order. When I got to the front window, the guy taking orders was a little rude not acknowledging me until he had finished his conversation with the cooking crew. I ordered the number 4, beef and chicken combo plate and a small Jamaica. It was $18 and change. Not the best price, but the portion was pretty big. Food came out quickly after I ordered- piping hot. It was my lunch break so I took it back to work and it was still hot. The egg roll and dumpling was basic ones. The salad had what tasted like a sweet, Mayo based dressing but I liked it. I'm a beef girl but the chicken was so good here! Much better than the beef. The beef is a little like from frame broiler, my least favorite teriyaki spot. But the chicken, yummers! It was perfectly cooked, juicy and soft. Overall, I will definitely come back, but not too often since it is on the pricey side.

I feel I got disrespected by my own kind tonight. Mind you I'm a big fan of Mos2 I always get the teriyaki chicken and beef combo plate. But today I came 10 minutes before closing time. The time says they close at 9:00pm that means respectfully 9pm. This isn't a dine in restaurant. It is a takeout place. You gotta honor your closing time. And I drove from garden grove to get shut those black bars in my face. That was the cherry on top. No communication just shut those doors in my face around 8:50ish. That is not how you do business.

No.5 Teriyaki Chicken and Shrimp plate $14.75 (March 2025)

I used to come here regularly years ago and recently craved their teriyaki bowls. The restaurant still looks the same and brings nostalgic vibes. The food was always delicious; however, I ordered the beef bowl, and the beef was dry. I'm glad I had extra sauce to help finish the meal. On another visit, I ordered a Teriyaki Beef and Shrimp plate through the drive-thru. When I got home, I saw that it was the Chicken and Shrimp plate. I really craved the beef, but when I checked the receipt, they charged me for the chicken. So, they must not have heard me correctly. The chicken and shrimp were still pretty good; the chicken was tender and had a tasty charbroiled taste, and the shrimp was nice and crunchy. The included egg roll and gyoza were average. The salad was good, with plenty of dressing. Mos 2 has been around for a long time, and my latest visits were subpar. The staff and service are always hardworking and friendly, but I'm unsure if I would return due to inconsistency. I always try to support local; I hope others will have a better experience than I did.

We love coming here when we're down in OC. Love their teriyaki chicken and beef. The price has gone up and you don't get as much food as we use to but it's the same everywhere you go nowadays. The service here is fast and they have a drive thru too. They have inside and outside seating, but it was closed down at 7:30 pm when we got there, so we had to take our food to go. I hope they stay in business, because every time we've come by here, it's empty.

Went today 8/22/2025 as I was finishing my plate combo. I find a medium size black hair in my food. They need to wear nets. Not hats at this place.

Best teriyaki chicken and rice with fried shrimp around. Healthy vibes. They also have Shia frescas there like de horchata , tamarindo & jamaica. Food is done pretty quickly here. This is like the best version of waba grill mark my words.

We started with the shishito peppers and takoyaki, and the takoyaki was easily some of the best we've had. It came out piping hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. The Hiyashi Chuka had a great balance of flavors with fresh toppings, and the soba was light, chewy, and paired really well with the crispy tempura. The hot tea was a nice touch, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. We also loved how extensive the menu is. Service: As I arrived there was only one girl at the counter. She was very nice and told us if we had any questions or help to let her know. Self Serve at the counter and there are two large tablets where you input your orders! NOTE: NO CASH ONLY CARD. We came on a Friday, July 5th around 1pm. It wasn't too busy at the time for me. Good service. Food: BEST onigiri iv had! Iv tried the kbbq, mentaiko, honey walnut, and spicy salmon onigiri. My two favorite were the mentaiko and spicy salmon onigiri. The mentaiko (fish eggs) was delicious, it was salty but like the good saltiness (not overly salty if that makes sense haha) and keep in mind that it is a tad spicy but for me I can handle it because I love anything spicy! Now the spicy salmon onigiri was PERFECT. Not too spicy (perfect for those who likes a mild spice) and creamy. My bf ordered spicy salmon as well and honey walnut shrimp. Both he said were delicious and his favorite was the honey walnut shrimp! For the kbbq, it was delicious too! Reminded me of Kbbq! All onigiris came with seasoned furikake and seaweed (there's an option if u want it on the side or remove it). There is also ahi tube poke and 3 sauces to choose from. I chose 1 spicy mayo on the side and it tasted really good with the onigiri. Each onigiri is labeled on the wrapper so it's easy to know which is which. I personally think think this onigiri store has a good amount of filling which I love! Drinks we ordered strawberry lemonade and regular lemonade. 5/5 great drinks and refreshing on a hot day. Overall everything was a 10/10 for me. If you really want to be full full, eat 4 onigiris, if u want to be full but not TOO full, 3 is good enough! At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.
