I always love coming here. I was very disappointed that they no longer have oysters as that was my favorite menu item. I ended up going with the combination plate with some clams, shrimp, fish. It was good. Very good actually. Not overcooked or undercooked. Nice crispy batter on the outside and moist and fresh on the inside. Our server was amazing and the food came out quite fast. I feel like the prices have increased but the services were adequate for the price, not to mention everyone has to adjust for inflation. Overall, great experience as always. I used to come here a lot as a kid with my family, so I'm definitely familiar to the food and vibes, it's kind of just nostalgic to come here. Today the customer service was fine honestly, nothing really that serious. Not 100% attentive but it's like almost always busy in this restaurant. Food took some time but the waitress claimed a lot of the kitchen staff is new, no worries there. We got the food and honestly it wasn't that serious. Definitely not the best seafood in town, but it's also not like bad either. The combination plate is almost $22, and the salmon plate is $20, the prices aren't crazy. Probably will branch out and try elsewhere when I'm in Florence again, but to be fair there aren't a whole lot of choices to begin with. I had a great experience at Mo's. There was a pretty long line when we first got there but it ended up moving very quickly. The whole restaurant has a waterfront view and it's in a great location. Has a nice coastal charm. Employees were extremely friendly always asking us if we needed anything and apologizing for the food being delayed when it actually came pretty fast! Impeccable service. I got the fish tacos which were great. The clam chowder is a must though. Thick and delicious with lots of shrimp and potatoes. You can upgrade any soup to come served in a bread bowl which is a nice touch. Portions are very generous and food is reasonably priced. Large variety of items to choose from on the menu, not just seafood. Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

What can I say about Mo's? They certainly do heavy marketing and heavy advertising. The food? I would say about average. I have had their salmon, fish n chips and chowder, and the typical bread bowl. If you are looking for food with a "bang for the buck" Mo's isn't bad. Need some grub before driving back the valley? Go for it. But for that special night out? Look elsewhere. The chowder is not bad. It's not great either. For me it's not something memorable. Consider it 1 step above Campbells $2 Chunky Chowder with a bit of melted butter. One thing I dislike is the fact that one of Mo's bean-counters, probably the manager, decided to remove the saltine crackers. So now, unless you ask for more, you get 2 (two) saltine crackers with your chowder. Fortunately they have not removed the salt and pepper. But who knows....to cut costs, that may be next. The fries with the fish n chips are pretty unmemorable. But then again fries at 75% of restaurants are pretty unmemorable these days. The cod fish was slightly above average. I do congratulate Mo's on the fact that they don't heavily bread their fish n chips like some other cheapskate restaurants do. It's lightly breaded and I like that. I would have given Mo's a solid 3 stars. However I'm deducting a star and giving just 2 stars because they have recently implemented Guilt Tipping. Guilt Tipping is where the waitress comes to your table, and instead of giving you a check, she hands over the little tablet with all the "suggested tip amounts" already there. Swipe left to leave a custom tip. No tip? I can't remember if that's an option without swiping. Anyway, as a guest, I'm not comfortable with the waitress holding the tablet over my table while I think about the service we received and apply the tip so she can think to herself what a cheapskate I am for doing 15%. We had a party of 8, large, so we already knew "hey, this is gonna be a lot, let's tip well to make their day" come to find an extremely rude server off the bat! Side eyeing, laughs, scoffs galore! Such a disappointment. Clam chowder was basically potato soup, go to Krab Kettle if you want good chowder. I had fish tacos that had zero flavor and on top of that served with Pace Picante sauce on the side. Felt like a cheap Mexican restaurant dish. My wife had a fried fish platter and didn't enjoy it. I came in here with my husband and two friends earlier in the week, and had a fantastic experience. Like I was totally surprised at how fantastic it was. We walked in and a cook greeted us at the door as he held it open. One friend asked if the clam chowder had onions in it because he's allergic. The cook wasn't entirely sure, but volunteered to check, and then brought a sample out. My friend can eat onions if they're cooked completely, like stewed in a soup all day level cooked. But anything raw or par-cooked and the results are disastrous. It's usually obvious one or two bites in to something with onions how it'll go, and it went well this time. Our server, I didn't get her name, was fantastic as well. She chatted with us like she fit right in to the group and was part of it, as I poked fun at my husband and friend. I'm always amazed when someone treats being picky and having questions as no big deal. So many wait staff get impatient and cranky. This lovely lady rolled with all of it like everybody was like this. Our food was delicious. My husband had the captains platter. The friend who is allergic to onions and I both had beer battered halibut and chips. Our other friend had chicken strips and fries. We also had copious amounts of clam chowder, with shrimp on the side because I don't eat shrimp. But it was left out so the ones who wanted it could add it in to their bowls. When we were in the gift shop area after we finished eating, the cook who greeted us originally stepped out to check in with my friend about the clam chowder and make certain he was still ok after eating it because of the onions. I already had a great impression of the staff, but that really cemented it for me. Not many people care that much to stop and check in after answering a question. That shows me they care about the customers and it isn't just a job to them. It seemed like all of the staff love working there, and it shows. Would I return? Yes! This experience was amazing, especially compared to past experiences and I'm so glad we stopped in. If every trip in is like this, I'll keep coming back. Because the amazing staff is really what made this experience so great. Sourdough Cannonball Bowl $10.50). It took our server nearly 20 minutes to scoop some subpar chowder into a stale bread bowl and bring it to me. I'm pretty sure she forgot about my order at first. The establishment was not full at all. She had me, and one other table. Furthermore she failed to apologize or even acknowledge the extremely long wait time. Even more disappointing was the absolute pig slosh that was served. It tasted absolutely horrible! Each bite left a sour taste in my mouth. I'd bet a few meals that this was reheated from the day before. The bread bowl was also stale AF. I couldn't eat it. I wanted to ask for some fresh chowder but our lousy excuse of a waitress never returned. I tossed my money on the table and left. And then I spent the rest of the day with a horrible stomach ache leaving me bed bound watching re-runs of Jersey Shore. I can't imagine ever wanting to return but I probably will because I'm a huge believer in second chances. Every single business has their bad days. Always a busy and hopping place! Got in about 30 ish mins. Not too bad maybe a tad Sooner. Waited outside with our group of friends. Went in and promptly shown to our seats. Our waitress was so kind! Horrible Experience We order drinks and appetizers. Drinks come we order food. 30 minutes to hr later we still have no appetizer or food. We start noticing others who arrive after getting their food. We ask what's going on is there a manager? The waitress says they are busy and the manager is helping them cook. Which I don't believe was true and I lie I could see her standing there. She then said we were going to give you deals on our food but they were prioritizing smaller tables. There were only four of us eating. So that didn't make any sense. You don't prioritize meals at restaurants by size. You serve in order they come. We waited 1.5hr of our time before we gave up and had to leave. It might been okay but they never did bring appetizer or tells what going on if there even really was anything in the kitchen other than poor management and service. Then we just ask for our bill. We should have just left that's how bad it was but I waited for the bill. This was the time manager should have came over apologized for inconvenience and drinks on us. No the have me a bill for 42 for soda of meal we never got. Which now from seeing what it says on yelp we may be better off then a bill for $200 for below average food and service. read more

This place has character and beautiful views of the bay. Everyone was super nice, helpful and cheerful. The seafood was fresh and delicious. They even have a beyond burger on the menu for vegetarians. Remove the cheese and mayo, they then offer fresh sliced avocado- so good! The place was busy but pretty fast turn overs on window seats. This was my first time visiting Florence. I had been to the Mo's in Newport, so I decided to go again. Just as I expected, it did not disappoint at all! Quite the contrary, I had such a great time there. I went on a labor day weekend, so the wait time was quite long, but I got a chance to walk around and checked out the shops. Once I walked inside, I was amazed at how pretty the interior is. Clean glass panels that give a 180 degree view of the bay; view of people catching crabs and having a good time on a sunny day; the modern and wooden interior design that gave me a feeling of inside a cabin and a boat that serves the freshest of seafood. I ordered the halibut basket and clam chowder. The halibut and fries were steamy hot and so fresh and tender that just melted in my mouths. My clam chowder cup had so much clams in it, and it was so worth the buck! I asked the server for a new bottle of ketchup as it was running low, and I further ordered a drink when he came back. I apologized for making him walk back and forth so many times. To my surprise, Anthony answered "haha that's alright, as long as you're having a great time" (something like that), and omg I could cry if I wanted to!!! What an amazing customer service. The best clam chowder I've had from Florence to Coos Bay! In a bread bowl is the ONLY way to eat it. You have the option to add bay shrimp on top. The chowdah is hot, flavorful, filled with bacon potatoes and clams! Great value, gorgeous location in the water. I've been to Mo's 4 times during my 3 visits to North Bend. Never disappointed. I looked around and only 75% of the tables occupied. Finally we get our order taken after 10 more minutes of waiting. They bring us our meals then 15 minutes later our chowder shows up. Many of you recently read the horror story of Kim and my horrific experience with Mo's seafood and chowder in Florence, Oregon. Briefly, the wait was ridiculous, the food what horrible and the bill was through the roof. It's been about 2 weeks now, and someone at Mo's FINALLY responded. Here's what I got this morning... "Hi Doug, I am so sorry to see that you had this experience.
